A decent spot to stop if you find yourself hungry scouring the holiday markets! Ordered two hot chocolates, a pistachio bombolone, and the chicken hot date sandwich. The hot chocolate itself was definitely reminiscent of an Italian hot chocolate. A bit thicker than American hot chocolate but plenty of chocolate flavor throughout. If you aren't a fan of sweets, you might err on the side of caution and buy one to share because the richness may overwhelm you after a while. The bombalone itself was nice and airy. The pistachio filling gave it a nice, nutty component to balance out the sugar. The sandwich, on the other hand, I felt it could've been better. For a sandwich that came with chicken, mozzarella fiordilatte, artichoke cream and sun dried tomato pesto, all you could really taste was chicken, mozzarella and tomatoes. The mozzarella did lend itself to a nice cheese pull, so there's that. But I expected more flavor and a bit more spice as advertised. Overall, I think coming here for a sweet treat alone might be best. If not for the bombalone, I think some might enjoy the hot chocolate that is offered. The sandwiches, your mileage may vary. Tasty fast casual sandwich. The truffle prosciutto Buratta was very good! I've had better sandwiches elsewhere though. And two stars is honestly is two too many for the awful Nutella bombolone I had. Godawful. Drizzled Nutella on top, inside whatever squirt of chocolate they inserted, was definitely not Nutella. We came across this place in the Bryant Park Christmas Market. We couldn't help ourselves and get something sweet for our sweet tooth. I just looked too good so we ordered their Bombolone Nutella Donut and Pistachio Cream Donut. The Pistachio one was creamy with its pistachio-flavored filling and coated with sugar. It was sweet and nutty of course, with a creamy and rich texture. If you love Pistachio, You'll love this one! We also got their Bombolone Nutella Donut which if you know Nutella is always better in and on a donut, That sweet combination of hazelnut and cocoa. My wife and I shared the nutella bombolini. It's a tough item to execute unless the doughnut is super fresh. Plenty of filing and icing which helped with the texture of the doughnut. Probably best enjoy with a hot coffee. read more

Walked around Bryant Park Winter wonderland on Tuesday. The bombolones looked yummy so we decided to try three of them - 2 pistachio, 1 apricot jam. They were so disappointing. Went to the Columbus Circle Holiday Market where Casa Toscana had a booth. Bought a Nutella doughnut for $6. It looked great but it tasted dry and stale. If you want fresh doughnuts, head over to Krispy Kreme Flagship Store on Broadway and 48th street where the doughnuts are fresh! It was a beautiful day in the park and we wanted a light snack, so why not a sandwich? The shop looked pleasing and clean so we decided to give them a try - two sandwiches and a bombolone to share. The staff was very friendly and it seemed that they were making our food with care. The prices were also fair considering the size of the sandwiches and the ingredients. Our order was prepared fairly quickly but that was where the trouble began. First, I had asked for the order to be packed to go but I was given my cream bombolone on a plate while we were still waiting. It was warm and I found out soon after why. Our sandwiches were wrapped and bagged but once we sat down across the green and pulled them out, they weren't even labeled. At the least some abbreviations could have been written on the wrapper considering we ordered two different things. Second, the sandwiches were average and the bombolone was a complete disappointment. The focaccia on my Sexy Winter Night was too mushy to be called sexy and I couldn't taste the porcini/truffle cream or the fontina over the overwhelming salt of the prosciutto they use. Even the arugula couldn't dim it. My friend's Spicy Chicken Hot Date was tasty but in no way, shape or form "spicy." Finally, the bombolone. It was served to me hot because they warmed it up to disguise the fact that it was stale. As soon as I attempted to break off a piece it crumbled into a million pieces. The cream was yellowed and had a green spot in it that I can only assume was the beginnings of mold. It went straight in the trash. Maybe they were having an off day, because on the surface it looks like they put a lot of care into their food; however, based on my experience I absolutely would not recommend eating there. read more

Stopped by here while visiting the holiday shops. I ordered a hot chocolate and apricot donut. The hot chocolate was quite small and overpriced at $6. It had an artificial chocolate flavor with a strange aftertaste, rather than a rich chocolate flavor. The donut looked promising. The base is light but dry, and the apricot jam is tasty, but the donut was lacking and needed some filling. The staff were friendly though. Overall, walked away quite disappointed at the quality, especially since it's a bit pricey. You can definitely get better hot chocolate elsewhere, which is what I ended up doing. read more

I ordered the miso salmon burrata SANDWICH and she said it would only come with one piece of bread. and she asked if i wanted it toasted, so i said yes. Bought some bombolone from the Casa Toscana stand at Bryant Park a while ago. We got one ricotta cream bombolone and a pistachio bombolone. My favorite was the pistachio. The filling was silky and had a rich nutty flavor. The bombolone itself was airy and lighter than your standard donut, and was also covered in granulated sugar (which I thought was unnecessary since the filling itself was fairy sweet). There was also a menu for sandwiches which sounded delicious. Would definitely try one if I went back. read more

My family and I visited Bryant Park today to go ice skating. We loved this place so much that we ordered here 4 different times! First, I tried the cappuccino before our skate time to give me an energy boost. It was frothy, tasty, and definitely gave me that little umph I needed. Then, my stepdaughter wanted a hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and she was generous to give her a nice, huge wallop of it, which made her incredibly happy! Then we orders two sandwiches which we all loved! The bread was just right, crispy at first bite, then easy to chew into after that. The prosciutto was the perfect amount of salty which blended well with the cheese. Right amount serving size to feed a hungry family of five (well, 4 plus an almost 4 year old!) Then, before we left, we took one Ricotta bombolini and 4 Nutella bombolini's to go, plus an apple cider. The homemade apple cider was so flavorful, I wish I ordered a very large cup. The doughnuts on our walk back to the resort warmed us up and the kids absolutely loved the chocolate Nutella tasting cream. Looking forward to coming back on our mini NYC staycation! read more
