We had an amazing dinning experience here! My husband and I stayed on the island for an entire week and we both said hands down it was our favorite meal of the week! I had an amazing crabmeat pasta dish that was "lick the bowl" worthy (don't worry I didn't do it )! My husband had the 3 onions crusted pork chop meal and loved it! He even tried the Gouda grits at our waiters suggestion which is awesome because he's not much for grits! He hesitantly tried the meal and he absolutely LOVED it all!!! We will definitely be earmarking This restaurant as a regular restaurant to come to when staying on the island!!!! They were also family friendly as we brought our 2 month old along!!!! read more

Dined here last night. Our server, Kirsten, was excellent (and I am hyper-critical of service in general so this is high praise!). My husband's oysters and his prime rib meal were well-prepared and delicious all around. I knocked a star off because my grouper special was so-so. The fish itself was super fresh and prepared well, but tasteless. The risotto was underdone and bland. The bread that came with our meal was rushed out and although hot, it was still doughy and underdone. To end on another positive note, the bottle of wine on the special menu was delicious and a good value. My husband and I both enjoyed it. The vibe in the bar was lively and fun. It was quieter in the back dining room, but cozy and pleasant. We will definitely give it another try on our next visit to HHI. read more

I have very mixed emotions about this place. I HATE the way it is set up/decorated. Something about the space feels cluttered an awkward, they decor needs some direction...any direction. We went on Sunday night, and the service was TERRIBLE. One waiter who seemed new, confused, and was awkward in general, so theres that. The redeeming quality is the food, which is quite good. The seafood hush puppies were delicious, as were the fried pickles (I know, but try them). The scallops entree was fantastic as well. The wine/drink menu is a little bit blah, but if you are looking for good seafood in Hilton Head and do not mind a 'not so great' atmosphere then this is the spot. read more

We tried Catch 22 from reading the positive reviews. We enjoyed it, but found nothing that made us want to go back. We tried their early bird special that is a good value at $17 including a glass of wine and salad. Salads were crisp and fresh. The shrimp pasta was tasty, but the pasta was slightly overcooked. The broiled tilapia was pretty bland and the portion relatively small. In general there was nothing really wrong, but nothing at all special other than the price. read more

We tilled the dice and went back for a repeat on our second trip to HHI. Absolutely wonderful. The menu hasn't changed in a year, so far as we noticed, which was a touch surprising. That's entirely on, though. The early bird is a pretty good value but I recommend that you shell out and pay for a full portion of what you want. Worth every penny. read more

We stumbled upon Catch 22 one night looking for a bar with good food to watch a game. The food and service here are fantastic. I ordered the pork with smoked Gouda grits and green beans. All of it was amazing and felt like homemade recipes. The bar service was exceptional, giving us wonderful food and wine recommendations. In the end, the food was so good, we split desserts: peanut butter sushi and the chocolate caramel brownie - both to die for. Food Quality: Fresh and well seasoned! I had the crab cake dish and it was delicious. My bf had the swordfish dish and it was tasty too! The portion size is medium, just enough to leave you satisfied. The complimentary bread and butter was also very good! We ordered a mixed green salad and hushpuppies for the appetizers. The hushpuppies were the best I ever tasted. I probably had hushpuppies 3x total in my life and the one at the restaurant just hit the spot! The salad was just ok. Ambience: Very small place. From the outside -- it does not look appealing and its kind of hidden just like everything else on this island. Once you step inside, you feel the artsy vibe right away. Just finished great anniversary dinner with family. Everything was superb. Started with hush puppies, oysters Rockefeller, oysters on half shell and fried pickles. Tail fish special was great with lobster corn salsa. Scallops with ravioli was superb and Manhatten steak was cooked perfectly. Would recommend this to anyone. read more

My mother used to say, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." ... But that's not why you're reading Yelp* reviews. I won't comment for the others at my table, but the steak tips au poivre I was served tonight had a major flaw. The actual meat was OK, but the crispy "nest" of deep fried shredded potatoes tasted terrible! Either it was overcooked, the oil was rancid, or a combination of factors joined to produce the acrid result. I placed the offending crust on my bread plate and mentioned it to our waitress, who whisked it off to the kitchen. She soon returned with the excuse that the chef said "potatoes taste different during parts of the year!" That was it. No offer of a substitute was given, or an offer to adjust the cost of the dish. Remember, I did continue to eat the steak tips, which were acceptable. Maybe I should have been more forceful, but I was hungry, and I don't like to cause a scene. Oh, and the crab soup was more of a tasteless cream of cornstarch concoction than a delicate bisque. Choose more wisely. read more

The waiter did not want to serve, the dinnerware was not clean, the floors were sticky, plating was awful, and the pricing was $$$ NOT $$. The Host was great! My boyfriend and I walked in and were asked if we had a reservation. When we said that we didn't, the hostess walked away. Which was awkward and unprofessional. Then a woman behind the bar got us to a table right away. We ordered a few drinks and the hush puppy appetizer. It was delicious. My martini was so strong, I wasn't able to drink it. Then we waited for our food for over an hour. Apparently, the owner was out of town and there was a new person in the kitchen with no experience. A few other tables had the same issue. I'm not sure what happen with our visit to one of our favorite places on the island but it was a huge disappointment. I told the hostess about it being a special birthday celebration so the birthday person got special dessert. She said she would take care of it. We were stead promptly in the in area, all good so far. We ordered wine to start. We bought 2 high end bottles for our party, we had to ask to decant it. He filled all our glass before it was decanted. He brought a badly chipped decanter and tipped the bottle upside down and dumped the rest in. The second bottled, another dump upside down. Not that we need the corks, but those weren't left on the table either as any wait staff should do. Never once did he come back to refresh our glasses. We ordered entrees then again the only time he came back, after our meal we done and most of it was pushed aside, he asked if everything was ok? Well...it wasn't but he was never to be found after the meal was served. Steak was ordered medium rare, came out medium, over done and exceptionally dry. Pasta was overcooked and had an odd texture and no taste. Asked us if we wanted dessert, hmmm, where is the special birthday dessert? Not to be found. That was weird too, some kind of peanut butter log with oreo's on it, just odd and not very good. Spoons were served with it when a fork was needed. When we asked for the check, and was all over giving us attention, he didn't discount our early dining, 22% off, etc. Again, more corrections. We don't think he was trained at all and food wasn't up to the Catch 22 standards as we expected, mediocre at best. read more

Went here for my anniversary dinner w/ my husband and enjoyed it. We shared the hush puppies (really tasty, although the outside was very well done - we actually had an undercooked hush puppy experience on this trip as well so I'd take over instead of under any day) and I had the wild mushroom filet w/ risotto. Steak was cooked perfectly with a great sear and risotto was delicious. My husband had the catch of the day, cobia meunière. Part of the fish was undercooked, but the sauce was excellent. Although not a perfect meal, I would give this place a second chance as my dish was good and the staff was amazing. read more

It sounded like a great place to eat but it was far from it. The food was mediocre, very bland and the presentation was terrible. The oysters were terrible, they had no taste at all (they said they got them from Virginia). I had the Carolina trout, It was fried in cornmeal and just put on a plate, nothing pretty about it. My husband had scallops, they were presented better but he said they had no flavor to them at all. I would not recommend this place, too expensive for bland food! read more

This restaurant by far has the best food I have ever eaten! Every time we visit HH, Catch has to be a stop once or twice during our stay. My husband always gets the duck and I always get the bone-on filet, which are both absolutely mouth watering. The scallops and shitake mushroom ravioli are also to die for! Caesar salad is also the best I have eaten and I pretty much get one everywhere I go. My husband even orders one and he hates salads! My husband and I recently had an early bird dinner at Catch 22 for the very first time. Our server was Lynn and she was a joy and very personable. The food was delicious especially my 3 onion encrusted pork chop. Definitely recommend that! My husband's dinner was mostly pasta and not enough mushroom and beef. Should have been more for the price of $20. We ended the meal with a toffee type dessert. Sorry don't recall the name but it was super delicious being recommended to us by Lynn. From the outside the restaurant does not look like much and almost swayed my husband to leave. However, the inside is nicely done and much bigger than we thought it would be. What a wonderful experience! We were warmly greeted by one of the owners and quickly felt at home! Not only was the food fresh, and delicious, but the beef is all USDA Prime ( my husband had the filet) and the seafood ( I had the scallops) is caught locally, sometimes by the owners themselves. We had our small children with us and they went out of their way to make them happy! Daisy was a delight and made me want to be a more positive kind person after meeting her! She even offered to let us borrow her surf board to learn on. We will definitely be back and will spread the word! read more

Great find during our stay in Hilton Head. Everything offered by chef was great. I had the soup of the day, a chicken Gouda which was excellent. The crab hush puppies were plenty to share and not overcooked like many places. The fish of the day had sold out but our waiter, Derek, quickly offered to substitute with the fish planned for next day. Nice wine selection. Bartender made a mean martini. Friendly people who were obviously passionate about food. Derek was a great host. Would definitely stop here again. read more
