Two of us went to lunch and we ordered the same lunch special. Catfish & Butterfly shrimp. Though half of the catfish filet was ok, because the other half was thinner it was way over fried. Also both butterfly shrimp were also dark in color and over cooked Sides we had were French fries, fries okra, and corn. They were great as was the corn bread hush puppies served as a hot appetizer Our server was wonderful Eating area was clean but did not use the restroom so no clue there Manager looked our way but was to busy standing around to walk over and say hello or ask how lunch was tasting We will pass on returning here for a long time read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing quality of food at this place. I got the regular and cajun fried catfish because I couldn't decide! Both were a great option with flavor and the cajun had just the right amount of spice. I also had to try the oysters, and I was not dissapointed. They were a good size and great preparation. Had fried catfish dinner 2/24/23. Catfish arrived hot, but had no taste, none at all, and was cardboard thin. Probably imported from China. They're getting the bottom of the barrel from their catfish food purveyor. Probably to make a huge markup. They charge plenty for the tasteless, cardboard-like fish. $18.95 for a 3-piece dinner. The deep fried hush puppies were also purveyor cheapies - thumb like fingers with zero taste. Their fries and cole slaw were excellent. Fried Catfish Will not be eating here again. Hidden little place, the set up is an old diner with cool fish tanks around to look at. Complementary hush puppies while you're waiting is a nice touch. To begin they served these super cute hush puppies in creamy butter which was cute but they lacked in flavor. I ordered the crab cakes and 10fried shrimp for $19.99 which comes with 2 sides. The crab cakes were good perfectly fried with shreds of which I wonder whether it's actually imitation crab. The shrimp was perfectly fried large jumbo butterfly shrimp with these interesting shaped fries. I thought they looked super cool too bad they were under cooked. My meal was under $40 for an appetizer and 1entree and free hush puppies and 1 drink. The tarter sauce was tasty, service was great and the restaurant is nice except the carpet. Carpet absorbs order and though it didn't smell it still freaks me out. My only complaint was the blandness of the food. Come on it's TX everything needs to have some type of zing but there were a lot of older people and maybe they are what draws a crowd, light spice, light salt. Was craving catfish so of course I looked for a catfish restaurant. I ordered the catfish meal to go. When I opened my to go container I immediately saw this flat fish which looked nothing like catfish. After one bite I knew THIS IS NOT CATFISH!!!!!!!!!! I called the restaurant to inquire and found out it's not catfish it's Swai fish. Let me just say Swai and catfish are NOT the same. . If you advertise catfish, please serve catfish. Been here multiple times with parts of the family. Tonight we had a party of 7. The got us in quick even with drinks,appetizers and a nice tip we got our for 200$. The clams are awesome as is the catfish (as expected). The oysters are now coming out of TX and are still good but lost a bit with the move. All in all we love this place. It's hard to find good catfish in my opinion, so when I saw their sign from the freeway, I had to try it. I really enjoyed my visit!! The catfish was cooked right, though I think the next time I will try the Cajun version because I do like a little more spice with my catfish than what the regular version had. However, the two fillets I ate were good sized, and they were cooked perfectlyThe fried green tomatoes were very good, and the coleslaw was perhaps the best I've had in the last several months. If I looked for a complaint it would be the fried okra. There was nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't anything special. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, and the booths were large enough to accommodate someone that enjoys eating a little extra food (if you know what I mean!) Let's start off by saying that the service was a 10. The lady that served us was so friendly and enthusiastic about making sure we were fed and happy. The interior is interesting and lively, with big well-maintained fish tanks. The hush puppies lured us in but the ones we were served did not match those in photos on Yelp. They start you off with hush puppies that are shaped like sticks along with some butter. I'm a ketchup person and both me and my toddler ate the whole basket of hush puppies while dipping them in ketchup. The sweet tea was sweet and good. They are limited on kid's drinks so be aware of that. I didn't realize it until our server told us milk and seafood aren't a good combination, lol. I ordered the combination fried catfish and butterfly shrimp with french fries and fried okra. My tot had chicken tenders and fries of course. The food came out nice and hot and tasted really good! The french fries were great! They were like a thick slightly curly fry and I have never had them that way before. Everything was fried to perfection. The hush puppies for me were okay, just plain and sweet, but my friends loved them. I guess I prefer something with a little more kick, lol. I can't remember the name of our waitress, but she was excellent, refilling our drinks and checking on us regularly. She was very sweet and also took our photo when we asked. The host was a darling man who was very nice, always had a smile on his face, and even stepped outside to take a group photo of us out in the sunlight. We celebrated my father in laws 92nd birthday here tonight. The food was great and the service was OUTSTANDING. My in laws are very disabled and from the time we arrived the staff was extremely helpful. From holding the entry doors open for us (for a long time as they move slowly) to Holly, the waitress, being so kind and patient when they ordered. The staff made his birthday special. I believe they may be understaffed right now (as many places are) because it took our waitress a bit to help us, but the host got our drinks and complimentary hush puppies started for us. My husband drank two Skinny Dips (he said they could have been stronger), and ordered the catfish po boy with fried okra and loved it. I got the lunch combo with catfish and shrimp. I was surprised that the plate only came with one fillet and 2 shrimp, but combined with the fries and coleslaw it was a filling meal (also, the tartar sauce was delicious). So I took my mom out to this restaurant because a friend had recommended it to me. Taste was on point. Portion of rice, could of been more. Cole slaw was so good! My husband got the Cajun fried catfish with fried okra. The Cajun had a spicy kick to it. How every the catfish is self wasn't all that. The best part was the main part which is the middle once u got down to the end of the fish it was nothing but the batter.
