I've been here a few times now, but deciding to write a review today since I heard a couple of the staff talking about getting reviews and wanted to acknowledge their work. Here is a few of my tips for this location. 1. The lunch rush is INSANE. During the week, be prepared to wait about 15-30 minutes in line for your bowl. The weekends (especially Sunday is even worse, the church rush is no joke). I would recommend coming right after the rush around 3-5 where I've often been the only person there or first thing in the morning, but sometimes not everything is prepped and ready to go. 2. The food is great when fresh, especially the steak, but if you want fresh steak, be prepared to wait or get lucky. They run out so dang quick. The only thing I would say is worth their upcharges though, is the harissa chicken. 3. The service every time is AMAZING!! A lot of them seem to be in college so it gets messy, but they are on it if you're willing to ask. I went in today after church and the service was on par with a lot of the steakhouses I've been to. Good service is so hard to find these days, but not when I've come here. Britton struck a conversation with me right when I walked up, the twins (I don't remember their names LOL) were so quick and responsive to all 3 of my kids and bowls, the cashier was also smiling the whole time and was super quick, and when I had to wait a while for my steak, the guy on grill, Matt, made it fresh and gave us drinks while we waited which was very appreciated because my kids were restless and it was hot. He also came out to wipe down our table and get us ice since it ran out. I've yet to meet any staff member that isn't working their a** off and serving with a smile. The food at this CAVA was great! I am a huge CAVA fan and sometimes the food is subpar, but everything I got in my bowl tasted fresh and high quality. The line was long, but the wait wasn't terrible for a Friday. We had to wait a little bit for the steak, but our cashier, Matt, was super friendly and had a conversation with us while we waited. Always come to this location since opening day. It's a bummer to always have to ask employees to restock on straws lids and juices. Doesn't serve me justice that I have to pay an average of 20$+ for a 1 person meal if every time there is nothing stocked up. Do not come here during high traffic times (especially lunch hour). Complete shit show.. takes 40 minutes to get through the line. Extremely understaffed. Constantly out of toppings and protein. Even ran out of forks... I've been to several cavas around Orange county and only Costa Mesa has fulfilled the standard. Cava please step it up. read more
