Foods banger obviously. Service was the saddest thing I've ever seen, short tempered and very impatient. On top of that is so hard to put a smile on your face when talking to customers. Good food, decent prices, friendly staff, but awful wait times. I ordered on the app for pick-up and my order was not ready until 30 mins after the expected time. The app never updated me, the employees were disorganized, and it was not a good experience. When I finally got my order it was missing the side pita and utensils I requested. I love the food but my god the service here is terrible. The person adding toppings to my bowl did not even ask me what i wanted- he just proceeded to put everything in there. He did not make eyecontact and it was pretty obvious that he did not enjoy his job. I get the chicken bowl with hummus and red pepper hummus. I also like the lemon vinaigrette. Chicken bowl was 9/10. I love going to Cava and I have been to several different locations. This one disappointed me because the serving portion of the protein was so little. I ordered the Harissa Honey Chicken and if I have to pay extra, I expect to get a good amount of protein. I even noticed that the employee's scoops for the people after me got even smaller. Then when I asked to have a little bit more of a scoop, the other employee said it would be a $4-5 extra charge. read more

I'm from the East coast (where Cava headquarters is located) and have absolutely loved the food at Cava. When a location opened up near my home, I was going there every week for a grains bowl as the food was tasty and the portions were very generous so I could save half of it for a meal the next day. The employees were very friendly and would pile on the toppings so that you could barely close the lid. After moving to California, I've given this location a shot 3 times. The lines are enormously long every time I'm here which isn't necessarily a huge issue as the lines move quickly. My issue is the quantity and quality of food. From a quality perspective, the brown rice is usually on the hard side and the tomatoes never seem fresh and sometimes taste like they have turned already. From a quantity perspective, the pita is 1/4th the size it used to be (you used to get the whole round of pita) and the bowl is barely half full. If I can find a picture of what they used to look like on the East coast, I will post that too. I can finish this bowl in one sitting and still be hungry. In the picture below, I had asked for 2x the amount of cabbage slaw but could barely find it when I dug through the bowl. In the second picture, I had gotten a side of hummus ($3.25) and a side of the eggplant dip ($3.40) but I didn't realize the container size would be the same as what you would get for condiments at Costco and those were half -filled as well. I still love Cava as a restaurant but I will be checking out the Costa Mesa location to see if they are more generous with their portions. read more

I ate at the Rim location with a friend. The young woman taking our order was very rude, impatient and not helpful at all. This left a bad taste. The food was delicious but the experience could have been much better. I eat out every day and would like to have Cava in my rotation but this behavior is not smart or good for business. read more

Food as far as quality and taste A+ Service is what this is based on. Showed up around the lunch rush I figured there would be a line...but out the door are you kidding me? I waited in line thinking it would move quickly I was wrong. I lost track of time because I started chatting with ppl next to me. I could go on and on about what was wrong with today's service but here's the gist of it. Staff seemed annoyed to be there and even pissed off as far as the eye rolling greens girl. I also asked for a pita and didn't get it. The line was super long, they ran out of chicken had to wait another 5 minutes. Seeing staff walking around or chatting by the register is extra frustrating when there's such a long line like pick up a scooper and help out chatterbox. Just saying it gets crazy busy at lunch time, staff accordingly, have enough lamb and chicken on hand and throw in a smile it would have made it a smoother transaction. read more

For sure this is the last time I'm coming to CAVA. I said this the last time I came here, about a year ago and here I am as a dumb ass ordering again from a bunch of employees who clearly don't want to work here. I paid $18 online, when I had to wait past the pick up time, got the order half assed, the saddest order I've ever gotten and I didn't even get my dressing or pita, and of course their drinks were room temp since there was no ice. I work in the food industry and to get this kind of treatment when I work my ass off and get this is really irritating. For the past four years we've eaten at this cava weekly. We generally order the same meal. Bowl with greens and rice - always getting two green types. Granted, we are not asking for double greens just the two types split. We love their food but today the first server puts both greens in the bowl then proceeds to tell us that we can only have one green tyoe with one grain type. We explained that we've ordered this exact dish for the last four years and he says that whoever did this previously was doing it wrong. I highly doubt dozens of employees over the years were doing this wrong and all of a sudden smart guy is doing it right. Well he proceeds to pull off the second green and toss it in the trash then adds the rice. This idiot has clearly not been trained in acceptable customer service and his attitude was simply not acceptable. Either cava is under new ownership looking for ways to cut costs while increasing price or they are hiring the wrong type of servers. Going forward we won't be returning to cava. read more

Our custom bowl was well balanced and the sauces were very flavorful. Be mindful that the line can move very slow, but it's not the fault of the workers as the nature of how much options you have slows down the efficiency of the ordering process. read more

The time efficiency was amazing! Even when they ran out of an option they went to go grab it from the back. Andre was nice and approachable.

Where to start. This is the 3rd time I've had a bad experience here. I kept giving it a try thinking it was an off night. But NO. The line was insane long. I counted...36 ppl in line. The people working there were moving so slow. No sense of urgency OR acknowledging the long wait. The food stations were soooo messy. Agreeing waiting 38 minutes in line I figured I would still give it a try. I shouldn't have though. After waiting when It was finally my turn I asked "are you out of anything" they had to check. What they told me they were out of, they actually weren't and then the tops were mostly empty(see picture) So after all that wait...they didn't even have full options. Food: BAD-They are reduced their portions to literally half. It's astonishing how little they serve. See the picture of how it looked. Then how it looked after I mixed it all together(no bite was taken yet) I ordered the toasted pita sliced(which are an additional $) They weren't ready by time I paid and told me they would call me when ready. I sat down. Mixed my bowl and started to eat. Half way through they said it was ready. Waste of my money 100%! The ice machine was broken too. I won't ever come here again and honestly the manager needs to know about this. read more

I've gotten CAVA 5-6 times already and each time I get less and less food. They will either skimp out on your base or not have all the toppings (I have never seen the topping rack with all the options available). I only ever met one person that actually smiled or had a good attitude taking my order. Other times I feel like I did something wrong by asking them to make my bowl I still love CAVA because it's delicious but I will need to check out the other locations despite this being the closest to me. read more

Went to order Cava today 1st time about 2:30pm the lines were too long so I decided to come back after the Lunch rush while getting service done at restore. Came back at 4:30pm no line. I ordered a bowl and pita chips and side of hummus for my chips. I can't believe this is what they gave me and I paid $3.45 for less than 1oz of hummus. I was excited that the sweet potato was back but I got the last of the batch they had made and it was dry, and hard from sitting there too long. read more
