Came here on a busy Friday with my fiance. We usually come here 3-4 times a week. It was busy as always. This place has a long line for a reason First the food is tasty, and quality is very consistent. Kudos to the chef and team. This time two bowls are not enough for us; we had to get back to the line and get a side of lamb and falafel. Second, staffs are friendly and aggressive. Yes aggressive in serving customers to every needs. With open kitchen, I usually see the staffs work the hat off. While not serving food, they will take turn at cashiering. Kudos to the team that night Finally, great ambient atmosphere compared to the place right across their street. Parking can be hard to find though, so be ready. All in all, 5 stars!!! read more

Bad service at this location. Takes a long time to get your food. Every worker seems to have an attitude when you are ordering. Strawberry lemonade tastes water down all the mix is sitting at the bottom. Ive given this location a couple chances and sadly will not be coming back. read more

I made an online pick up order for 8:30pm and ended up getting our food at 9:30pm. We got there at 9 and waited about 10 minutes for someone to help. All the workers just looked at us from the side and ignored. We continued to wait another 10 minutes, when a worker finally asked if we had a pick up order. He then told us they're going to start working on the order right now. We ended up waiting half an hour for our order. I love cava but I always end up having to wait for them to make the pick up order when I get there. Would recommend just ordering in person. read more

This place is so good! Like a Mediterranean Chipotle with exciting flavors and tons of possible combinations. I really like building my own bowl and how you can choose half orders of things like grains and meats. What really stands out are the dips and spreads choices though! Roasted eggplant, harissa, red pepper hummus are so so good. Definitely them all! You can come back and order a different bowl each time. Tip: order online for quick pick up! read more

Good food and flavor for the bowls, but sometimes the workers give way too little food that it's not even a "normal" amount anymore. Shoutout to the workers who'll give little extra scoops because they know that corporate rules are ripping customers off. Highly recommend getting the Green and Garlic Sauces! Also, don't forget to ask them for your free pita bread and fried pita strips (most of the workers never offer and new customers don't realize they can get them). read more

I do like this place, but the marketing seems to push that they have really healthy ingredients, but they use highly processed seed oils. I still feel like the flavors are very good and it's probably healthier than a burger. I recommend the tzatziki with just about anything. read more

I absolutely love Cava and go to the Costa Mesa location multiple times a week but this location on Barranca is awful! I ordered delivery from this location once and our bowls had multiple missing items including the protein and was literally covered in so much sauce it was inedible. I came in tonight thinking it might be better in person but it's not. All of the employees have bad attitudes. They barely filled up our bowls half way, when I asked for cucumber the girl literally put two little tiny slices of cucumber and I had to ask for more, the whole area where the food is served was filthy and had old dry crusted food all over and it was very unappetizing. I used to be a regular at the Costa Mesa location because this one was SO busy the one time I went but the customer service at the other location has declined significantly .. which led me back here. I'm so glad we gave this location another chance because the customer service was great and the wait wasn't too long. This is our go-to spot when we're craving a healthy meal that still fills us up. I always get a salad with a splash of lentils, chicken, lots of veggies, garlic sauce and of course, the free pita bread. I also get 3 scoops of the spicy red hummus - my favorite part! Parking is always a little hectic in this plaza because of all the shops/restaurants but I never have issues finding a spot. I always order in person so that I can ask for extra sides/veggies. It was my first time at Cava on a Saturday night. The line was so long and there's only a few people sitting and eating. I ordered 3 bowls and service was very slow. They kept running out of items and needed to restock as they were adding to my bowls. It made sense why the line was long and few people sitting & eating. I think at least 5-6 people contributed to our orders which didn't feel normal. It was probably a one night staff issue or this specific Irvine location issue. The interior was dirty and could be way cleaner. Our foods were just ok. I wouldn't come back. read more

I went to Cava today around 8:30 and when I left I noticed my bowl looked very small. The employees were nice and very busy which I understand. I was very upset with how little food the bowl had for how much I payed. I had gone to other cava's and noticed that they always look full. CAVA offers consistently satisying customized bowls. They can be super filling, especially if rice and rich sauces are thrown in. They can also be decently priced, especially if you only eat half and save the rest for another meal, which is what I tend to do. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so I've never had trouble finding a spot. I always get the greens and grains bowl with chicken. You can add all sorts of toppings and sauces, but I had to learn to not go crazy with them because they can easily overwhelm the other ingredients. Try things out in moderation and find out what works for you. Unfortunately, what's also consistent is the lackluster/slow service, so I totally get where the other reviewers are coming from. Staff make it seem like working there is such a drag. And because of this, they usually are cold, inattentive, do not speak up despite the loud music, and have no sense of urgency. It doesn't necessarily make or break my experience; it's just a bit weird having to interact with expressionless people unwilling to help you. read more
