I decided that instead of going to the grocery store I would get a few sandwiches to take home and eat for a couple days so I can avoid the store a little longer lol. I ordered the Honey Turkey Sandwich, the Italian Combo sandwich which says it's one of their signature sandwiches, and the Roma's Special sandwich. I also ordered a size small Zucchini sticks. While I waited I noticed that the staff is so friendly that they even strike up conversations with guests about different topics and it looks like they have allot of regulars coming and going. I don't feel like I waited too long for my food, I browsed a little along the walls and sat for a little relaxing and before I knew it my number was being called. I paid and took the food with me and I could feel steam rising out of the bag, that's how fresh the zucchini was. I did not get to take a photo of the zucchini because I ate it the whole way home, and let me tell you that was the most generous size small portion I've ever seen. I love zucchini and these were lightly breaded and nice thick but well cooked cuts of zucchini. When I got home I decided to eat the Honey Turkey Sandwich first, I thought I'm just going to eat half and then put the rest away, but it was so delicious I ended up eating the full sandwich. The bread is a nice soft white roll, and the sandwich is bursting to the brim with all the ingredients. This deli is awesome, it reminds me of delis you see in the movies where everyone knows your name, and the food is so delicious. Now that I have discovered Roma Deli you know I'll be back, I need to try their paninis next!

I was quite happy with it, certainly substantial in size, good flavor from multiple meats, lots of shredded lettuce. I even dipped it in the residual juices from the side tomato-cucumber salad and loved that too! The sandwich can be made into a combo that comes with 2 sides and a fountain drink. Here I found that the quality was not as good as the sandwich. The tomato-cucumber salad was the right amount of oil/vinegar, the fruit and vegetable were fresh, very solid option. The pesto on pasta shells was underwhelming. I do like me some pesto, but here it was more for visual and aroma than taste. I would try other sides before getting this one again. Lastly, the taste of their Diet Coke was odd. I thought they had given me half and half with regular coke, so I asked for them to pour me a new one, and it ended up tasting the same ‍ Given the variable quality of sides and drinks, I think I would come back primarily for the entree items, and probably evaluate my other preferred sandwich the Meatball.

The space spans a mix of cafe, boutique gift shop, and bodega. Everything feels curated and little discoveries await you for those who are culinary minded. For example, I discovered that they sell frozen burritos from Las Palmas and frozen pizzas from Mozza?! Someone clearly knows their way across the culinary food map of Los Angeles. If you can pry your eyes long enough from wandering the corners of the store, you can finally place your order of breakfast, lunch or coffee/tea. I just took my cold cuts sandwich on house-made ciabatta to the proverbial mattress. The bread had enough structure to handle the piles of quality deli meats, yet was less dense than some other ciabatta breads I've tried. But, it did an admirable job packing in the flavors from the spicy peppers, cheese, meats. Wow. I'm just gonna say that this cold cuts sandwich was one of my top 3 from LA. Of course, I couldn't order a biscuit without a drink, so I tried their summery limoncello cream iced matcha with oat milk - summers in Kyoto and Sicily combine for a refreshing and satisfyingly creamy bever-"aaage" that adds some pep to your step, even when the mercury pushes past 100.
