This place has amazing fried chicken. Their salmon is pretty good too. Last time I went here the banana pudding was disgusting - 0/10 stars. Cobblers are always good. Tonight our service was abysmal. Felt like we inconvenienced the waiter by existing. He didn't let us finish our drink orders before walking off. Ordered 1 drink out of 5 people and he just walks off. Didn't ask us if we were ready to order. Had to make him stop and take our order. Had to flag him down multiple times. And he brought the wrong main course. The service and atmosphere was excellent. Celebration is a great space to accommodate large parties. There are several little nooks within the restaurant to make it feel like you have a private room within this quite large restaurant. The servers were all great and accommodated our large party in a timely and kind manner. The food itself was very average. The yeast rolls were the star of the bread basket. The beef vegetable soup had great meat, but the broth was quite bland. The sides are served family style and all seemed to just be okay. Nothing stood out as being exceptionally delicious, but it wasn't bad either. It is quite pricey for the amount of food you are actually getting. The portion of the main dish that you order is on the smaller size, but the price is on the higher end. There is an option to order seconds of your main dish for a $5.95 fee. Overall, I recommend Celebration as a solid option for a larger gathering to accommodate a large group of people with a variety of different taste buds. read more

This place holds a lot of people and has a market across the parking lot. Farm to market dining is all you need to know about this place. It's like Babe's in the sense of ordering your protein and the sides are family style and can be refilled!!! I love that style restaurant but even with this concept they still have quite an extensive menu. Don't worry they have alcoholic beverages as well. Wine, Beer, and I believe spirits as well. The chicken and rice soup was very nice, tasted fresh with simple seasoning that completes the fresh ingredients. I definitely will go back and need to go back. I wanted to try so many items on the menu but it gives me a reason to make my way back. Great place to go with family, and I imagine their brunch is great as well. Family style comfort food. Service was exceptional. I had the chicken fried steak and it was OK. A bit tough but OK flavor. I opted for the jalapeño cream gravy. I'm not sure if that meant they just added two jalapeños on top because it didn't taste much different. It was a group dinner and so we had all the sides. The homemade blueberry cobbler was average at best and the crust tasted burnt and not very good frankly. Not sure I would return. read more

Party of 6, Tuesday @ 11:45am (day after Christmas). Freshly baked bread tray (mixture of jalapeño cornbread, blueberry muffins & dinner rolls) was outstanding. Unsweet tea wasn't over-steeped. Meal of turkey/dressing w/fresh cranberries was delicious. Sides of homemade (not powdered) mashed potatoes and Lima beans (yes, you read correctly -- Lima beans!) seasoned with/ham were mind-blowing. Dessert? Peach/blueberry cobbler w/ice cream. The service was prompt, efficient, friendly, and accurate. The ambiance was very comfortable and well-suited to this type (home-cooking/soul food) of cuisine. Great sense of privacy, esp for large(r) parties, as the dining area is divided into smaller rooms. Apparently, they renovated a house but kept up most of the walls. Overall, one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time, and I eat out a LOT! Get there as fast as you can! read more

I came in here with zero expectations and walked so pleasantly surprised! I could not believe this place has been around for over 40 years! My mom found this place and remembered how great it was from people that had been there .It was also a perfect place to stop right before or after coming from Dallas Love Field airport. Everything was delicious to a T. Farm to table. I will definitely come back here. The Rosemary salmon was delicious! They also do catering as well or curbside pickup if you don't feel like cooking. I came here for a small family reunion dinner. I loved that all the food was healthy and didn't make me feel awful after. The restaurant is in a cute nook and is very homey. I ordered the pork chop which was juicy and delicious. My cousin ordered the meat loaf and I was jealous because it looked so good. The sides were just enough for a table of 6. It's family style which is fine by me, I got to indulge in extra veggies. The gumbo was nice and spicy! The starter salad was great but my absolute favorite has to be the banana pudding!! This restaurant is way larger than it looks on the outside! This place is old school, it has not been updated in the interior...maybe ever but it adds to the charm of it all. I get the reason people visit - this restaurant feels like "old Dallas" - frozen in time during days when the city was less metropolitan with limited family restaurant options. The food tastes like recipes from a small town home cook's kitchen in the 1970's. This place is literally like going back in culinary time to a safer, less exciting, bland Americana of years past. The food is a great reminder of just how far, and how evolved, "American" food has come over the decades. The service was friendly and very attentive - so huge credit to the team who brought food fast and kept water glasses full. The food's flavor - cafeteria at a senior citizen home vibe. Next to no spice, flavors, or best in class recipes - the flavor of the food felt focused on appeasing dietary restrictions of an older customer base. The chicken fried chicken was not the worst I've had in town - but so bland it won't be memorable. The side dishes were equally bland and just boring. Pot roast without any gravy, bland mashed potatoes served without gravy, bland gumbo that had a strange heat at the end with no depth of flavor. The gumbo was hot (in spice level) but the spice had no flavor. It was bizarre - just hot to be hot. I believe the food is of high quality ingredients, and the restaurant makes a great attempt at keeping true to their history. I have a lot of appreciation for sticking to what they know. But just too boring and bland food for me to return. If invited by a friend to go back, I'd politely decline and strongly offer alternative options. So if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive meal with family/friends who have low expectations from dining out (and love the flavorless past of American cuisine), Celebration is right for you. For anyone under the age of 60, I'd suggest anywhere else. read more

Service is really good as most workers there are long time employees with top tier hospitality to their customers. Wow, wow, and wow so many times! Celebration is truly a celebratory experience, from the time that you walk in the door until the time that you leave the staff are genuinely happy that you are there. My mom and I were warmly welcomed and sat quickly in one of their "celebratory" rooms. There are literally several seating areas for private parties and for couples/friends. The menu is small, but has a good selection from salads to fish and chicken entrees. The special that caught my eye was the Texas redfish and my mom got the trout. The sides are family style, so we shared their mashed potatoes, carrots, and zucchini. To start we had their chicken and rice soup that had chunks of chicken and veggies. The soup was super hearty and not salty at all. I loved that you could see and taste the chicken. For our dinner entrees everything was so good! The sauce on top of my redfish was so creamy and just made the fish and broccolini just pop! It got super quiet at our table, so you know that the food is good based on just this!! I did love that the sides were family style as we got to try a little bit of everything. I was digging the parmesan carrots--super yummy with just a touch of crunch! Came here because we had a long layover in Dallas and we had family pick us up for dinner. We had the best meal to fill our bellies for our flight. The menu had something for everyone. I chose the Chicken Fried Steak with Jalapeño Gravy. That gravy was everything. Such a perfect combo, and I'm so glad it was on the menu. The sides are served family style and are all delicious. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. You also get a bread basket filled with assorted breads (cornbread, muffins, and rolls). The employees were great. Drinks constantly filled. I had the pleasure of giving Celebration a try this past weekend for my going away brunch. I called a week in advance to make a reservation, but they were quite busy so they said someone would call me back. A few hours later a manager called back & went over everything with me which I greatly appreciated because he informed me that gratuity may be added due to a large party (not every place tells you that). Moving forward to the day of, they called me an hour before the reservation to double confirm everything -- perfect! So I arrived about 10 mins before & waited for the rest of the party to arrive. As I waited one thing that stood out to me was the staffs demeanor. Everyone was so welcoming & one guy in particular was hilarious just making jokes with everyone. Now the menu was quite different from what I had seen in previous photos so I'm assuming their menu changes quite often. Food: Fried catfish, fried okra, mashed potatoes & black beans -- YUM! I made some good choices, I mean when you have 2-3 sides to choose you can get overwhelmed believe it or not lol. I really wanted black-eyed peas or red beans but they didn't have any so the black beans topped with pico was a good replacement. Everything came out hot, I mean who likes cold fish & okra right? They had just the right crispness & flavor to make you want more. Drink: Fresh Watermelon Pick -- well I wanted some Lemonade Whiskey but they didn't have it so Jacob gave this recommendation, which I'm glad. It was so refreshing with a nice little kick, definitely give it a try. The only reason I am taking one star is because of the jalapeño cornbread, some of the food provided to others & the wait time for our cocktails. Believe me I wish it could be 1/2 a star because I truly enjoyed the visit but the cornbread wasn't as moist & flavorful as I had hoped & I always think cocktails should come quick & before food is served. Now as for our waiter Jacob he was AMAZING! When he told us he was only 2 weeks in we were in shock because he was so knowledgeable about everything when we asked a question & quick on his feet with recommendations -- keep him ! As I pulled into Celebration's parking lot and caught a glimpse of the establishment, I just knew that dinner was going to be scrumptious today. The interior was very cozy and it felt as though I was stepping into someone's grandma's home (in a good way). Their complimentary bread, more specifically, the banana nut muffin was so good and my personal favorite amongst the others. I started with fruit but there are other options such as soup or salad. As my main entree, I opted for the rosemary roasted chicken and I was pleasantly impressed with how juicy and well seasoned it was. You are able to to choose 3 different vegetables. I recommend the fried okra, mashed potatoes, and roasted zucchini. The fried okra was very crispy and paired well with ranch. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had some skin in it. The zucchini had a nice parmesan crust to it which added pizazz Don't forget to order a slice of chocolate pie to end the night!!!! this is the most special place in the world, especially to my family. my parents and their friends came here for years. the staff is amazing and the atmosphere is fantastic if you want some true comforting southwestern charm. the bar staff particularly make everyone feel like family. the food is always so good, i definitely recommend any of their salmon dishes because it's very fresh. the chicken st. caroline is another classic that celebration has been making for decades. all of their veggies are so fresh and the dressings for salads are drinkable. 10/10 always recommend this very special place read more

First restaurant I've ever eaten in Dallas just after touching down, and I believe Celebration exemplifies that beautiful southern charm. The atmosphere and service is simple, pleasant, and calm. Now I don't know if it was the day and hour I ate there but I noticed a lot of seniors. Nothing wrong with that - just pointing out the observed clientele. I figured go straight for a true southern staple so I ordered the grass-fed meatloaf and it was very good. I'm a sauce guy, so when I was tossing between the white wine mushroom sauce and tomato sauce with cheese and scallions the server said they could do 50/50. That's amazing. That being said, I now know I would stick with classic tomato. The mushroom sauce was good, but white wine didn't really mix with meatloaf. And then to be able to add THREE sides (Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for the straight from your hands fried okra!) and all for $12?!?! But as God as my witness...the bread! And that's all I'm gonna say about that. Only thing I found myself doing was adding salt to everything. It wasn't bland, just not enough salt. But I'll take not enough where I can personally fix that to my liking over too much and there's nothing I can do about it. I certainly do want to go back for some catfish and chicken fried steak.
