Beautiful latte ($8) and the Cha Cha Chaga ($8). Both were very tasty with interesting ingredients (reishi mushrooms in the Cha Cha Chaga! Not like you taste it, but it's still fun!). They have many types of milk, which is amazing as someone who is lactose intolerant! They have coconut, almond, oat, macadamia, and hemp for dairy free, and whole and skim for dairy. I highly recommend macadamia and oat -- both are tasty and creamy. I tried hemp milk while I was here and wasn't too crazy about it -- seemed too thin and not creamy enough. SERVICE: People are super nice and will answer your questions, even when the line is out the door (which it usually is, apparently). AMBIANCE: This place is SO CUTE. Like instagram worthy cute. This was another over hyped "do it for the gram" part of my trip (pre COVID) to NYC. The aesthetic in the shop is super trendy. You feel like you've stepped into an influencer's Instagram feed or music video. I love that their menu is simple and they didn't try to go too crazy with their offerings while still offering unique items. My Airbnb was nearby so I visited twice to get a little pick-me-up during my trip. The second trip was more to give them a second shot though. I just wasn't impressed. I love matcha. I really do. But I've definitely had better matcha drinks. My second drink from them I didn't even finish. The prices are on par with other offerings in the area so you can't be mad about that. I liked that I could get plant-based "milk" products, but the balance of the tea and milk never quite worked no matter if I went with oat milk or regular milk. Would I return if I lived near by? This was and continues to be the best matcha drink I've ever had. It's the most instagrammable cafe, there's little booth and bench seating inside, and there's plenty of space without that squishy little cafe feeling. They have a slew of different matcha drinks, if you're not sure what to get I just asked the girls working at the cafe and they recommends the CBD latte, hot. It was so dreamy, creamy, and floral I loved it. It takes a bit to get your order, but that's because they take their time to create the drinks. They have brewed coffee as well, vegan pastry food, and a fridge with some grab and go coffee. They have a few different vegan milk options (like almond and coconut) and non vegan milk. It's a bit expensive (about 6 dollars for a drink), but this is definitely a creative and high quality drink! Definitely recommend this cafe when in town! read more

This place baffles me. I'm a skeptic when it comes to new trends and this place is riding high on the matcha train. I never even liked matcha before! I've tried Cha Cha Matcha once for the experience. You walk in, get your super duper pricey beverage (close to $10 for some post tax!), post to your Insta (the real reason you and everyone else are here at first) and move on with your life. But then, somehow, I kept returning. The vibe here is awesome. The people behind the counter seem to genuinely have a good time. And the beverages themselves are actually delicious. I went with skim milk at no extra charge. At first glance, this drink is super pretty! The blue algae mixed with the milk gives it that nice baby blue color. The lavender honey is present in every single sip. It has such a rich and distinct flavor which I really liked! Since it is called "Cha Cha Matcha", I was hoping that it already included matcha but that would have been an extra $1-$2 charge. The drink was already pretty pricy so I decided to just get it as is. This place is okay -- very pricey and not terribly consistent. I used to get their blue matcha drink (10 bucks with the matcha shot, eesh!) but they changed the recipe, and I find it pretty awful now. I've had some of their other drinks with almond milk--which used to be great, but I think theyu've changed the almond milk so that you can actually taste a toasty almond flavor in your matcha drink (which I dislike). Overall they use high quality matcha, and it is decent, but the price and inconsistency drives me a bit nuts. read more

Matcha latte, matcha ice cream, and matcha cappucino are some of the offerings here. They also have regular coffee drinks, but I see no reason to get those instead of the unique matcha drinks. I tried both their regular iced matcha and the hot one as well. The iced one was better. As expected, it was just so so - a little bland actually. If you have had green tea or green tea flavored drinks before, then you will have an idea of the slightly bitter taste to expect. I watched them use an electric bamboo whisk to whisk the matcha powder and I was in awe. I now want to own an electric bamboo whisk.
