First time here and my husband and I had a pretty decent experience. We came here on a late Thursday afternoon for dinner and it wasn't busy at all. We were greeted. Ordered Lao style papaya salad. It was good but it could be a little spicier. Request for mild but hardly taste any spice. Also had their angel wings and Thai pork ribs which was delicious with a side of sticky rice. It wasn't a big deal but I wish they had serve some kind of pepper dip with the food. Instead it was some kind of sweet sauce which wasn't bad but I prefer my spice. I was craving Thai food and my favorite places are closed on Sundays. I found Cha Thai on yelp so I ordered a to go order. I opened my box and was surprised by the amount of food but I was also surprised by the color of the chicken. I ordered the stir fry basil chicken (pad Kra prow). The chicken wasn't very flavorful and it was dry. It seemed like the chicken wasn't cooked with the sauce. This was sadly the worst Thai food I've ever had. It didn't fulfill my Thai fix. read more

Terrible experience and I didn't even get to try the food. I ordered Pad Thai with no PEANUTS, my order was repeated to me CORRECTLY and when my order was brought out to go it was repeated CORRECTLY again. As I walked back to my car something told me to check the bag and to my surprise PEANUTS! The fact that people may have food allergies and can be hospitalized because of negligence should be of importance you would think. I went back and returned item, requested a refund and returned back to work without lunch because of this. read more

Looking forward to a great Thai place near work for lunch. This was my second time coming and the food is delicious. However with that being said the service is awful. I'm not really sure what the issue is but the staff seem completely lost. Food coming out is slow, some people aren't getting their food. Within the last two times I've seen multiple people walk out either from it taking to long or being completely forgot about. The food is great but Lunch is supposed to be quick and efficient. They desperately need a manager to take control of the floor and communication between staff. I'll give them one more attempt in a couple weeks hopefully they fix the issues, otherwise I'm done with this place. EDIT: Wrote this review while waiting to get our food, after waiting for 45 minutes ask the staff for an update and seemed like they forgot about it. They offered 15% off and let us know it would be out in 10-15 minutes, however due to time constraints decided to walk out and just grab a sandwich from Subway next door. If the owner/management read this please..please..please figure out the issues with your current system what you are doing isn't working. As others have said food is "okay" - Curry is salty and thin but otherwise tastes good. Portions generous. Service is comically terrible. Did not receive drinks til we were ready to leave. Employees were curt and otherwise occupied, was almost ready to leave we had to wait so long before someone asked us what we wanted to order. Second visit here and I was pretty disappointed. The first time I was here the green curry was delicious and the meat and vegetables was cooked just perfect which is why I returned. This time my Pad Kee Mow was underwhelming, I barely tasted the basil and the dish was greasy and on the overly sweet side. I am Thai, was born and raised in Bangkok (I still visit family there) so I'm very familiar with how dishes should taste having grown up eating Thai street food and having learned cooking from my Thai parents at home so this is not what Drunken Noodles should look or taste like. Besides the lack of flavor the noodles were not properly separated before stir frying which is essential. My parents cook these noodles all the time and they'd task me with painstakingly separating each noodle from one another so it can properly soften, cook and absorb flavors otherwise you'd have stiff piles of rice noodle cakes that don't separate no matter how you fry them. They missed this essential step. I ate what softened noodles I could and took the rest home to fix. My husband's fried rice was barely edible, it was hard almost crunchy! I took a bite and it was definitely not jasmine rice (Thai food staple) but either some other long grain kind or maybe even an undercooked glutinous/sticky rice based on the aroma. At least I can vouch that the employees are Thai since I understood what was being said in the kitchen but as far as service goes they were polite enough and quick but they didn't check on us whatsoever. Portions are decent and on the bright side the veggies in the dish were cooked perfectly again but I'm still on the lookout for authentic, delicious Thai food in Sac county. read more

I've been here a few times but today the service was horrible and I won't be back. I called in to place a to go order at 12:30. The man is who took my order told me it would be 20 mins. No problem. I left my job at 12:50 and got there at 1:05. No order. They "forgot" to put it in. I ordered veggie Pad Thai lunch special with egg roll and mango sticky rice. No egg roll and almost no sticky rice. To top all of it off they were rude when I said I couldn't wait and I wouldn't be back. You messed up I did not. You should treat your customers better. read more

For me, I think I've had better. I love their eggplant basil, hubby says "s'ok" The chicken satay is pretty decent all in all but how can you go wrong with chicken satay? Stay away from the Mango crispy chicken... We both said " no thank you." Soggy, wet and sour, I actually threw this dish away rather than finish it. Their mixed vegetables were unmemorable. I visit this restaurant when I am in the area, which is not all that often, as I live in midtown. Thai food is my favorite, so I consider myself a local Thai connoisseur. I've been to the several Thai restaurants on Broadway, Thai Orchid, Thai Canteen, and Siam, to name a few. To date, I've had their curry, drunken noodle, and their Thai fried rice. All have been delicious, and served to me with the highest level of service. I am now going out of my way to go to Rancho Cordova, so that I can stop by for their boba tea (which they also serve). I have discussed with them the possibility of catering a reception I am holding, and their prices are more than fair, and only asked for a weeks notice. This place is not going to be a secret for long, so I'd highly recommend checking them out before they become too busy. read more

We started with the crispy calamari, and the sauce it came with was bomb. Calamari was on the weaker side. I had the Pad Thai with shrimp and it was really good. Would have like the crushed peanuts and bean sprouts mixed in. My dad got the Medium Wonton soup and it was on the spicier side and he couldn't finish it. We believe it was the chili flakes. Well, I'm going to give this place 2 stars, which to me is a neutral rating. First of all, I'm not sure if this is a full service restaurant or a self-serve/fast food type of restaurant. It looks like a fast food place, along with the self-serve soda machine and cashier stand. When my friend and I came into the restaurant, we sat ourselves. A waiter came by immediately and greeted us and gave us menus. So far, so good. We asked for water and a soda. The water never showed up and we had to ask again. As far as the soda, the waiter gave me an EMPTY glass and a straw. I asked the waiter, "where's the soda? You gave me an empty glass!". At that time he took the glass and filled it with the soda I ordered. Next, we ordered our food. My friend ordered a curry dish and I ordered sweet and sour chicken. Her curry dish looked awful. Way too much gravy and not much meat. She said it tastes like Sh*t!. My dish was "unique". This was the first time I had sweet and sour chicken that had cucumbers and red chili flakes in it. Not bad, but not good either. Like I said, NEUTRAL. Service was unattentive. I had to get up and find a waiter to give me our check. Neither of us will be going back there.
