    Pad see ew tofu
    Alex V.

I'm picky about my Thai food so I'm always a bit hesitant trying a new place but, YUM!! Ordered pick up after an evening of paddle boarding. I got the shrimp fresh rolls and pad see ew tofu. They gave a lot of broccoli with the pad see ew and both dishes were so flavorful! I also appreciated that they cut the fresh rolls in half and wrapped them in Saran Wrap so they last better overnight. The total came to $25, which was cheaper than other places I've been to. I definitely want to try their dine-in experience soon.

    Phad Thai with chicken!

Let's just say I've found a new go-to Thai place now that the one I used to go to closed. I had the Phad Thai with chicken and I think it was more flavorful than a lot of other places I've been. Three stars is perfect spice-wise. The space is clean and my waitress gave great service. I will be back next Thaim I'm craving Thai!

    Tofu Phad Thai

We have eaten here multiple times and had a consistent experience each time (mostly taking food out). The food was great tastes amazing. But a major downside is it takes FOREVER for the food to be made. Our most recent experience they had lost our phone order after calling in. Especially on a busy Friday night, if you are ordering out I would recommend ordering 45min-1hour before picking up. They definitely need a more organized kitchen and better admin skills for better service. But the food is soooooo gooood!!

We noticed this place when we got take out form the teriyaki place next door. Then I googled its menu and set my mind to try out their food. Finally we got takeout from here after a weekend road trip. All food was amazing!! We ordered over the phone and they made sure that we knew the direction to get there. Very thoughtful! We tried four items: phad Thai, chili pepper fried rice, crispy garlic chicken, Tom yum soup. They were all so good! We usually get shrimp and they were generous with the portion. We will definitely come back to try other food. Love this place!

On our last trip we got pho, banh mi, a side of pho broth, and egg rolls and it was around $30. There's just not many places nowadays where you can go out to eat for 2 people at that price point. I saw the glowing reviews and immediately decided to head over. The place is small but it wasn't too crowded and I was able to get seated quickly. Server was nice and concise. There seem to be no AC running in the restaurant. It was one of those warmer nights for Seattle summer, and some people probably wouldn't go with pho with weather like that. But luckily my seat was located closest to the entrance which was left open, so I didn't have to sweat it out while I had my pho. I had the rare beef pho and was happy with the generous potion. The meat was thicker than expected but tender and flavorful. The pho broth was more on the saltier side than sweet which I prefer. Overall, it was a perfect bowl of pho. I was so happy with how the food tasted.

Ordering is done at the counter, then you wait for a buzzer to grab your food, which made it feel more like a cafeteria or fast-food setup than a traditional restaurant. The food was okay, but heavily sauced and lacking the authentic Caribbean flavor I was hoping for. Being from the East Coast, I was really looking forward to some true Jamaican jerk chicken or flavorful oxtail, and unfortunately this missed the mark for me. The best comparison I can think of is making baby back ribs in the oven, pouring barbecue sauce on top, and calling them authentic BBQ ribs -- without the seasoning, smoke, or hours of preparation that make the real thing special. One big plus was the ample parking with generously sized spaces, which is definitely appreciated. Overall, probably not somewhere I'll become a frequent customer, but I could still see stopping in for a quick bite over McDonald's, Five Guys, or standard takeout Chinese food.

It's a little dark (window only on the street side), and it's seen better days. The staff seems friendly enough, but they are stretched thin, and it took a while for the server to take my order, then a while for the kitchen to actually produce it. The food was adequate, but nothing special: I had the Big Dipper breakfast & tea - in my case scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, hash browns, and a sausage patty. The hash browns were pretty standard, the scrambled eggs pretty standard, the sausage patty huge and greasy, and the two blueberry pancakes huge and very thick (a little heavy). It was a lot of food, more than I wanted to eat. They had a good variety of teas, but not the one I wanted (Earl Grey) so I settled for English Breakfast. There was nothing wrong with breakfast or the restaurant, but not much to get excited about either. I probably won't go back, but if I do, I'd expect the food to be adequate but not worth a special trip. Going out for breakfast is a pleasure, but when I pay restaurant prices for breakfast, I expect it to be a little more enjoyable than this was.

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.
