Ordered from Chada so many times and the food is so good!! Tonight we ordered food and ordered rice for 3 people. I asked specifically if rice or noodles came with this one dish. The lady at the counter told me the dish came with noodles. I said ok then I need rice only for 2 people. She insisted that we ordered enough for 3 people and would not give me rice for 2 people. I said I only need it for 2 people because one dish has noodles. She finally said ok I will charge you for 2 rices. I paid and then looked at my receipt and I paid for 3 rices. She also had not put the rice in the containers at this point. I went back up to her and told her she charged me for 3 rices. She ended up giving me cash back. I told them we have been customers for a long time and the customer service tonight has not been good and I am upset. The other lady said she was sorry. Very upsetting! read more

Chada Thai catered our wedding recently and all of our guests asked us who we used to cater the wedding because they loved all of the food! One guest said, "By far the best wedding food hands down!!" The manager and the whole staff were wonderful throughout the process! They called to confirm our order and we're able to deliver since we were nearby. I frequent this lovely little restaurant in the North Seattle area of Broadview because they are friendly and the food is always spot on! I really enjoy this place as a go to neighborhood Thai joint. The food is consistently flavorful and delicious. They are always friendly and fast and the prices are fair. The khao soi or Chang mai curry soup as it's called on the menu is a work of art when you order it dining in and is even as good for takeout - they separate the noodles and crunchy noodles from the broth so it's all fresh. I would definitely recommend the Tom kha soup - it's some of the best I've had anywhere! the crispy garlic chicken is wonderful, as is their pad see ew. Can't go wrong here! Their spice levels are great - I usually order a 3, sometimes a 4 and it delivers a great punch. Be careful if you don't like heat. The vegetable spring rolls were full of mush, maybe mashed potatoes? with no seasoning and a shred of carrot and onion. Bleh! Terrible service I had a pickup order, got there when the store was nearly empty (only 2 customers were dining in at that time). I showed them my order, they told me that it's not ready yet and it will be in about 5 minutes. Couple minutes passed by, a bunch of people walked in, some got to-go orders, some dinning in, and some picking up orders. Somehow, the majority of them get served before me? We always order some type of noodle dish accompanied with their famous Crispy Garlic Chicken. Whateva they put in that sauce is MONEY. Hits all the notes of Umami, a staple of Thai cuisine, really. the hours via postmates indicate that this place is in business today starting at 11am, so we placed an order for 5 items from the app. the first order was cancelled for no reason and our mistake was reordering. instead of providing rice for 2 curry orders they just sent one. one of the dishes was supposed to include extra tofu-- and guess what? none of that. quite the opposite. hardly any tofu. and the thai iced teas we're supposed to have no ice. I was researching Thai restaurants in the Seattle area and landed on this one awhile back. Finally decided to try it on one Sunday. After studying the menu, I had a question as to whether or not they de-veined their shrimp/prawns. So I called the restaurant shortly after they opened, and a woman answered the phone. Politely I asked whether the restaurant de-veined their shrimp/prawns. I could tell that the woman wasn't a native English speaker. I believe she struggled to understand me. I tried to explain by speaking more slowly or rephrasing the question--but always, always remaining courteous--and all of a sudden the line went dead. I strongly suspected that I had been hung up on, but still, wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, I called the restaurant back and got the same woman. In an even tone, I mentioned that I was the caller from two minutes ago, that we must have gotten disconnected, but the woman remained silent and didn't offer any response to this. Even a faux apology would have earned points for effort. Eventually she did seem to confirm that they could de-vein shrimp/prawns upon request, but given the language barrier, I wasn't 100 percent certain that this would truly be the case. Also, I just didn't feel comfortable trying anymore. I thanked her (again, politely) before hanging up. But the whole thing just didn't feel right, and I definitely didn't come away feeling very good. Upon conferring with others in my party, we decided that we would rather take our money elsewhere. We went with our second option, a different Thai place that was farther away from where we planned to be, but they were much nicer and friendlier over the phone, and easily answered the same de-veining question. Customer service is everything. Every little interaction counts and adds up. Hanging up on customers is a major red flag. Really speaks to the woman's character--very common and ill-bred behavior--and reflects badly on the business. The food here looked good via pictures, but no food will ever be tempting enough to ignore lack of human decency. And there are no shortage of options in Seattle. read more

Just bought take out lunch from Chada Thai. They have lunch combos! Not many places have lunch combinations and I firmly believe they should... It's a great way to eat 2 of your favorite dishes at once with a side of rice all for under $10! I ordered the Phad Thai + red curry lunch combination. It's about $8.95 per portion (super good deal). Note: the red curry comes with chicken and no substitute. The Phad Thai does not have any meat or tofu.. I don't think they'll sub it for you either unless it's for an added cost? Not sure. And it comes with white rice. I'm not fond of brown rice but they do have it too. The Phad Thai is a little sweet, wish they had a sliced lime. But it was pretty crunchy with peanuts, red cabbage and carrots. The red curry is very savory, with basil, red and green peppers and bamboo shoots. All dishes have a rating from 1-4 star spices. I usually stick to a medium spice and get some spices in a separate little container on the side. They're very prompt during lunch! Took only 10-15 for two orders., each order is very generous. I have been coming to this place on and off for years. However, this is my first time trying their lunch special and I tried their swimming rama + pad thai combo. Wow, they are amazing. The fragrant rice, delicious pad thai and flavorful swimming rama really hit the spot. I know other dishes such as their crispy garlic chicken and fried rice are really good as well. Fair warning that their spicyness level is not like other Thai restaurant in the area, I would recommend you to start with 1 or 2 star if you never been here before. But that customer service...oof, I can see why this place does a lot more take out. We were greeted by the older female owner (lol the headmistress, lol the tigermom, oh you helpers crack me up!) She's as unfriendly as it gets. She kept giving me the side stink eye, esp when I ordered the lunch special and asked a question. Popped in for dinner a couple of days ago. Plenty of spots in the parking lot. It's a small parking lot but if it's full, wait for a few minutes extra, another car would bound to exit as it's a fast turnover time (most people park to grab their takeout order only). When we entered there were 2 other tables finishing up. The lady owner greeted us and told us to sit anywhere. Promptly she brought us the menu and came back with our water. She gave us enough time to study the menu while she cleaned up the other table that just left. We came here upon a recommendation of our friend who said that the food is delicious but did not give further caution. So when we put in our order and I went with my usual "4-stars" spiciness, the lady's eyes almost popped out of the sockets and told me "this is Thai spicy, 4 stars is the max!" and my guy said "ok give us 2 stars" and I thought to myself 'lmao what a wuss!', but being a team player, I said ok. We ordered a 2-star Tom Kha Gai (a must order for him), the highly praised Crispy Garlic Chicken, and a safe bet of 2-star Beef Pineapple Fried Rice. The Tom Kha Gai was indeed amazing. Very good. You can taste the tanginess from the lemongrass instead of the overpowering coconut cream at other Thai restaurants. The delicious soup started with a mere sinus-clearing spicy level for us. Then the Crispy Garlic Chicken came to the table. This one got no spice at all, it was just sweet.. too sweet if I may add and I couldn't taste any garlic. The basil leaves lend nice aroma to the dish as expected, but I must say that I had better Crispy Garlic Chicken elsewhere. On to the Beef Pineapple Fried Rice, this one was very good as well. Somehow the 2-stars in the Fried Rice was not the same spicy level as the Tom Kha even though both were requested in 2 stars. Maybe because the Tom Kha was still a little bit pipping hot as well so it felt extra hot in my stomach. Not sure if it was just my off-day, but about 10 minutes later, the spiciness *fully* kicked in and I had to admit defeat. I had to retire to my car and regretted I hadn't written my will yet. On the other hand, he soldiered through and teased the fact that earlier I was gonna get 4-stars. On a positive note, the spicy level helped my guy out who had been constipated for a couple of days. Conclusion on the spicy level: 2 stars over here is equivalent to 5 stars elsewhere! A lot of people came in and out for their takeout orders. Reading previous reviews, many people have remarked that the service is poor. This restaurant is family-owned and the lady owner took charge of the floor and I think a boy who I assume is her son (?) was helping out bringing out the food and drink. She indeed tends to be abrupt but it's because she's all business and wants to move as fast and efficient as possible. However when she stopped by and I told her that the Tom Kha Gai is delicious, she was very happy and it put her in a better spirit. But I did witness she scolded the guy at the table behind us, cause apparently he wanted to order their god-like omelette or egg dish but they would only make it for you if you call first and order ahead. The guy said that he had been scolded many times about it so he was aware of this rule and said she always agreed to make it for him in the end. The place is clean but not very large inside so seating can be limited when busy. When we came they didn't turn on the TV even though I could hear the whistle from the NFL game played on the TV in the kitchen. So the dining area was dead quiet with no music and no TV, and two women were having very loud, uncomfortable tense conversation across us which made me feel uneasy throughout. Price is in a very good range for the big portion you get. We'd love to come back here and just do 1-star Thai spicy (which I think falls in 3-stars category at other Americanized Thai restaurants) next time. By the way if you hate yourself or if you want to punish a loved one for a wrongdoing, this restaurant also do 6-stars spicy level upon request. read more

Not bad seems to be the common theme here and I have to agree. The atmosphere is not great and in fact I find the orange walls a bit too much but for the price you shouldn't expect a lot of charm. We ordered two salads. One with chicken, peanuts, basil and lime (sorry, am bad w/names). This one was a bit too salty but I guess it IS Thai food. Also, the peanuts in the chicken salad tasted rancid to me. The one with peanut sauce were pretty good except it was all iceberg lettuce which is not that appealing to me. I guess what I am saying is I really liked the peanut sauce which made up for the rest of the salad being pretty mediocre although fresh. We also ordered a seafood dish with green beans, peppers,, mushrooms and basil. It was pretty good I guess but I don't know if I would order it again. The bathroom was pretty clean if you care about that. I am not sure if I ever received a fortune cookie in a Thai restaurant before but free dessert is always nice. read more

One of the most unassuming Thai restaurants you'll ever come across. This place is only a couple blocks from my house in a small strip of businesses that includes 7-11, Domino's, a terrible Teriyaki restaurant, and a dry cleaners. This place is a diamond in the rough. I cannot order food from this place without getting one of the two house specials, Crispy Garlic Chicken. This dish is phenominal! It's a giant portion of lightly tempura battered white meat chicken, tossed in this spicy/sweet garlic sauce with fried basil leaves and bell peppers mixed in. It's incredible. I have tried other dishes to compliment the Crispy Garlic Chicken, including cashew chicken (above average), their phad thai (average), panang curry (delicious), larb gai (mom loved it), and chicken satay (excellent peanut sauce). When ordering a spicy dish from this place, beware, they will hear a "3-star" request, but counter with a "4-star" delivery. Do not underestimate their heat levels! I love spicy dishes, but do not try and be a hero and order a 4-star here. I've only gotten food to-go here, but the place is always wide open. It's a family run business and at night they young son sits out in the restaurant and plays his Nintendo DS, while the older daughter and parents run the kitchen/service. read more
