Finally got to try Chamon and went on Friday afternoon to pick it up. Luckily not a long line for the onigiri, but definitely will be back to sit down and try their bowls. All of the onigiri were in stock and getting replenished while I was there. I loved the amount of filling for each onigiri, it was very generous portion size. My order included their mentaiko, unagi, salmon, salmon and ikura, tuna, and shrimp. Loved the addition of the shiso leaf for the round ones!

Really authentic tasting onigiri and would probably come back here if they fix their ordering process. Came at 11:50 and did get not until 40 minutes after for just take out. They hand out baskets for to go orders and it should be one basket per party or have a paper ordering system to check off what you want. They only allow 5 baskets inside at a time. As of right now, they have the same line for to go and dine in. It was very busy for Friday lunch so it would've been beneficial to add a third worker for just to go orders to help keep the line moving. There's very limited space inside so it makes sense that they want to keep as much space as possible inside but their ordering process doesn't logistically make sense to me. Overall, their onigiri is pretty good but just be prepared to wait if you decide to go.

Chamon Las Vegas was definitely one of my favorite food stops in Las Vegas! If you're an onigiri fan, this place is absolutely worth checking out. The onigiri were delicious! What I really liked about Chamon is that even though many of their options aren't your traditional onigiri, they get really creative and put their own unique twist on them. There were so many different flavors and combinations to choose from that we ended up grabbing a bunch just to try them. My favorite was the Unagi Sansho. The grilled eel was flavorful and went perfectly with the rice and nori. I would definitely get that one again! I was really looking forward to trying the Wagyu, but unfortunately they had already sold out by the time we got there. That just gives me another reason to come back next time I'm in Vegas! Definitely recommend getting there early because some of the popular items can sell out. Overall, I loved the concept, the presentation, and especially the creativity they put into their onigiri. I'll definitely be back!

I eat a lot of high end and izakaya type Japanese food, all through out US and Japan. I was not super impressed by the food here. I came 45 min before opening for lunch on a Friday. I was 9th in line. I've came here twice and first time the negitoro bowl with the uni and crab was sold out for that day. The negitoro bowl honestly tasted worse than it looked. It just tasted bitter and bland, no sweet fresh ocean taste like other chirashi bowls I've had. Maybe it was the egg yolk soy sauce that ruined the flavor for me. It just did not taste like high quality ingredients. I even got extra crab. It was half a crab leg for $6. The snow crab honestly tasted no better than the frozen grocery store stuff, nothing like the fresh stuff from a proper sushi place. The first time, I tried a tempura bowl. It was good, more authentic than most Japanese places in the states, but not super amazing like I need to go back to eat it again. The best food here is their onigiri. The variations and recipes can top the ones found in Japan, very authentic. They do put a little too much rice so you get full fast and can't try too many. They do not keep very well and you need to eat them same day because the rice hardens in the fridge or the fish starts stinking and goes bad! So pick your poison if you wanna buy a lot. The other stuff is not worth standing in line for if you've had authentic Japanese food in Japan or in another bigger city with top notch sushi or fresh fish. I'm from LA and the tempura at Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr in LA is better. There is better fish and rice to be found in LA too like the quality is similar to Sugar Fish and KazuNori. These are very easy to get into spots in LA you don't need to stand in line so I'm surprised to find the crazy hype here. I admit the presentation is nice and the shop's vibes feel very much like you've been transported to Japan. But the cooking quality and flavors are only slightly above average. 3 stars for the cooked food. 4 stars for onigiri. I probably will never come back again now I've tried their signature dishes and see that it's mediocre. The food is not worth the lines it has at all, especially if you're from a big city with good Japanese restaurants. Maybe come here for the Japan nostalgia and vibes or if you've never had authentic Japanese food. If you want to splurge, apparently Kabuto across strip mall parking lot nearby is VERY good. Top 3-5 omakase in the country.

Wow. I brought my sister (visiting from out of state) and boyfriend after seeing so much hype on Instagram. Despite arriving before open, they had a line out of the door for take-out onigiri. The restaurant is quaint, resembling any classic hole-in-the-wall in Japan. I've visited several times, and my boyfriend lived in Okinawa for years, so we were very impressed. The line is long because of how tight the store is. There was a great selection, and we watched them continuously restocking. They give you a basket and you have fun making your selections. They were all tasty. Our favorites being the classic tuna, spicy tuna, and wagyu onigiri. It is take-out only, so we enjoyed them in the car. It was an authentic, tasty, and fun lunchtime experience. We cannot wait to be back! Note: they open take out at 1130, and not the listed 12.

Definitely one of my go-to spots whenever I visit Vegas now. I was so surprised by this spot when I came for dinner. I had seen this spot recommended all over my social media feeds and it didn't disappoint! I do wish I got to try their onigiri and the negitoro dons but the tempura dons were delicious. Like traditional Japanese restaurants, they close in between lunch and dinner. I've heard that there's a line befor opening for lunch or dinner for their onigiri, and that their negitoro dons usually sell out during lunch, so I'll have to come again for lunch next time. The restaurant itself is pretty small, with only a few tables and about three seats at the bar, so the wait can take a while. Our party of three ended up waiting about an hour to get seated around 8:00pm, and we got their premium tempura don. Their tempura is lightly coated in batter and fried, not greasy at all. They're light on the tempura sauce within the bowl, but they provide the sauce at the table for you to add. Definitely recommend loading the sauce onto the bowl for the sweet savoriness and don't forget to use their spicy powder that definitely hits.

Man, good luck getting a seat here! We showed up before opening and the line out the door was nutty! When we were asked if we wanted to dine in the wait time was going to be about 2 hours with no guarantee that they'd have their coveted bowls left. Make sure you get a reservation if possible! We waited for the onigiri which still took us about 30-40 minutes just to get in. Once we were in you could see it was a very cute small izakaya with only 2 tables and bar seating. The onigiri itself was pretty solid but I'm not sure it was worth the wait. Maybe I was just too hungry They also ran out of all the cool advertised ones before we even got a chance (saba, wagyu). Next time I'll definitely shoot for a reservation if I'm in town.

This was probably one of my favorite meals on my last trip to Vegas. All the tempura was delicious but my favorite was the Wagyu bowl. So tender and don't forget to add on the black summer truffle zest! The onigiri was delicious as well and a great grab and go snack. The restaurant itself is very small with limited seating so if you're trying to snag a table be prepared to wait. I got there on a Thursday around 11:45 before they opened and there was already a line. Once they sat the first round of tables I was told the wait would be about 50 min and that was an accurate estimate. Once you're seated the food comes out pretty fast.

I've had Chamon bookmarked for a while and was finally excited to try it. It was EDC weekend, so it was packed. We got there around 11:15 a.m. even though they didn't open until 12 p.m. My group ended up making the second round of seating and didn't get seated until about 1.5 hours later, but it was manageable since we could just put our name and number down and get a text when our table was ready. The downside was that by the time we were seated, all the onigiri had already sold out. Next time, I'd definitely recommend getting in line early to grab the onigiri first and then coming back when your table is ready. We did get lucky and snagged the last serving of the A5 Wagyu steak bowl, which was absolutely the highlight of the meal. I also ordered the negitoro ikura bowl with uni and snow crab, and both were really good, but the Wagyu bowl definitely stood out. Overall, I'd come back for that Wagyu bowl and hopefully next time I'll actually get to try the onigiri too!

There's about 5 tables and some seats at the bar (very small inside), best if you make it early - I'd recommend getting in line by 11-11:30am. They have limited items including: - A5 waygu steak - 10 daily - negitoro bowls - 15 daily Must order: the premium bowl with uni, negitoro, snow crab and ikura. Their tempura bowls is also delicious - great quality, wished it was slightly crispier. Next time I'll try the onigiri - it's the same line if you want to just buy onigiris to go.

My review is solely on the onigiri to-go. I got there at 440pm, waited in my car with the a/c on for a little while until I saw a couple of people lining up. There were only 3 of us in line at 5pm. I've never been here for lunch so maybe dinner is less crowded? You tell me. I keep hearing how packed this place is but I didn't experience that at 5pm on a Thursday. We just had a huge meal from another resto nearby, so I decided I just wanted to pick up some food for later snackies. The restaurant is indeed small, with just a handful of tables. I have to try a sit-down meal here one day. I got pretty much 1-2 each of the available onigiri. I didn't see some of the ones in the photos I've seen on Yelp, but a good variety nonetheless. I wonder if they had it for lunch but ran out? Anyway.. on to the onigiri. I never knew rice could be so tasty! It was just sticky, savory, and satisfying. I agree with some comments that there could be more protein and an improvement in the ratio but the rice was enjoyable as well, my taste buds didn't suffer. My favorite onigiri was the salmon & ikura, it was sweet, savory, salty, minty.. how can something so simple, be so complex in flavors? I was already full off 1-2 onigiri but my gosh, I wanted to open them all up and try them all at once. These would be amazing snackies for a road trip or a movie.

This place was amazing. We got here at 2:20 PM, just as they were doing last call for their lunch service. My friends and I got their Original Negitoro Bowl and also the Deluxe Tempura bowl. It was all good - we're definitely going to go back next time we're in Vegas. (It was so good, one friend actually went back for their limited Wagyu tempura bowl). We also grabbed a bunch of onigiri to eat later for an early dinner. I can't remember which onigiri I ended up grabbing, but they mostly fell in pretty good to very good range.

    Jamie W.

Tempura was super fresh and I loved the seasoning on the rice. We weren't super hungry so we were able to share one of the bowl combos. Since it was around dinner time, they were already out of some of their musubi options, but the couple I took to go were yummy. Convenient and speedy ordering to go for my friends, and the workers were friendly. It's a very small restaurant so we were lucky they had seating for two of us right away at dinner time.

Do they have Onigiri from 5-9pm as well?

Yes, but didn't have much left and were out of the wagyu onigiri. (I got there right at 5pm on a Thursday)

Do they have highchair to accommodate 1.5yr old baby?

Yes- they have the wooden high chairs in the corner for use~

    Do they take reservations?

no, they don't and they have limited daily 15 bowls of their rice/crab/sea urchin ( the best and $45 buckss)

How long are the onigiri good for? Do they need to be refrigerated?

Prolly a week in the fridge. A day or two not refrigerated

What is the typical wait time on a weekday right at opening 5pm?

They open at noon, if you get there 15 mins early usually no wait but once is full only 13 people capacity, you will need to wait anywhere from 20 mins or more.

Just taking out Onigiri is possible?

    Yup 👍🏽

I know it say they use a 100% plant based oil for frying, what kind of oil is it? I have a soy allergy.

They use 100% COTTONSEED oil....Sadly, such a bad oil for a good product. All restaurants should stop using seed oils.

Is this the same Chamon that used to be in the same plaza, across from Sweets Raku (RIP 😭)?? The old Chamon, "The Matcha Salon," served amazing desserts like mochi balls and red bean and green tea soft serve ice cream. Same name, same logo.

Yup! It's the same location & same logo, they just focus on tendon bowls now!

My family made a reservation because they wanted to celebrate my birthday, so I was really looking forward to it. When it is your birthday, even a small detail feels a little more important. You want the night to feel special, smooth, and happy from the beginning. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there seemed to be a small issue with the reservation, and the table we were given was much smaller than expected. Since we were there as a family for a birthday dinner, it felt uncomfortable at first. I have to be honest -- my mood was not great in the beginning. It was one of those moments where you think, "Oh no, is this how the night is going to start?" But then the food started coming out, and Hachi completely turned the night around. The first thing that changed my mood was the beer. The draft beer was served in an unbelievably icy-cold mug. It was not just cold -- it looked and felt like it had come straight out of a freezer. The foam was smooth, the beer was crisp, and the first sip was so refreshing that I almost forgot I had been upset a few minutes earlier. That beer alone deserves applause. Sometimes a perfect cold beer can fix a whole mood, and this one absolutely did. The biggest highlight of the night was the tuna toro. It was incredible. The texture was so soft and delicate that it almost felt like cotton candy melting in my mouth. Rich, buttery, fresh, and so smooth. It was the kind of bite that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a second. We loved it so much that we ordered it three times. Ordering the same dish three times says everything. It was not a maybe. It was not a "let's think about it." It was a clear yes every time. The skewers were also very good. The grilled meats had a nice smoky flavor, and they were seasoned well without being too salty. They paired perfectly with the icy beer. But the shrimp skewer was especially memorable. The shrimp had that perfect bouncy, juicy texture. It was grilled nicely, still tender, and full of natural sweetness. Some grilled shrimp can become dry or forgettable, but this one had personality. Small skewer, big impact. We also enjoyed several other izakaya-style dishes. The grilled shishito peppers with bonito flakes were simple but delicious, and they helped balance out the richer dishes. The grilled squid had a great smoky flavor and a chewy texture that went so well with beer. These are exactly the kinds of dishes that make izakaya dining so fun -- one bite, one sip, one more bite, and suddenly the table is full of happy people. The sashimi platter was fresh and beautifully served over ice. There was a nice variety, including tuna, salmon, white fish, scallop, and ikura. Everything looked clean and fresh, and the presentation made it feel even more enjoyable. But honestly, the toro was the star. I will probably remember that toro for a long time. My daughter ordered tonkatsu, and that was also a huge hit. Sometimes at restaurants like this, kids' dishes can feel like an afterthought, but this tonkatsu was really good. It was crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. Seeing my daughter enjoy her food made my birthday dinner even better. As a mom, when your child eats well and is happy, the whole meal suddenly feels more peaceful. That is just the truth. Overall, Hachi started with a little frustration because of the reservation issue and the small table, but the food and drinks completely saved the night. The icy-cold beer, the amazing tuna toro, the juicy shrimp skewer, and the tonkatsu were all memorable. The food was strong enough to make us forget the rough beginning, and by the end of the meal, we were all happy. Las Vegas has so many flashy restaurants, but Hachi has that casual, comfortable izakaya charm. It is the kind of place where you order many small dishes, share with the table, drink something cold, and let the night slowly become fun. I would definitely come back next time I am in Las Vegas. Next time, I already know what I am ordering first: an icy-cold beer and tuna toro. And honestly, I may order the toro twice from the beginning, because one order is definitely not enough.
