Found these really hard pieces of plastic in the Yuzu Salmon Onigiri.

I purchased a TooGoodToGo bag from here and found pieces of plastic in the onigiri. I was freaking out thinking they were nail clippings but they're too thick and hard. Could have been pieces of a container.

Love this little spot. Been coming here for years for ramen and glad they now have some quick bites to grab and go. My favorite is the salmon miso onigiri! I also love that they give you a lot of filling/topping compared to rice. Friendly staff too! Highly recommend.

Champ Onigiri is located in Ramen Champ, another gem in South San Jose. Champ Onigiri offers a variety of food items, including onigiri, sandos, and musubi. There is plenty of parking out front and it's right off the 85 near Kaiser San Jose. The onigiri is self-service, and they are only open from 10 am to 2 pm. Since its located inside of Ramen Champ the location feels great and cozy. I'd recommend getting there early, as I've been there closer to 2 and found very little selection. The rice is cooked perfectly. I'd recommend the tuna mayo and spicy tuna, as it's exactly what you would expect from onigiri. The sake and shiso kombu onigiri are another favorite. The sandos are okay, and their spin on spam musubi is good. All the onigiri and musubis have the right amount of rice to ingredient. If you're in the mood for onigiri, this is definitely the spot to grab lunch and go.

I have gotten seated immediately each time I have came here but it's during lunch so not sure about dinner! Amazing service as server took our order super quick & food also came out in like 10 minutes! For food we ordered the Sake Don which came with rice, salad & miso soup which is greatly priced. This tasted amazing as the salmon was super fresh and one of the better salmons I have tried! The Spring Salmon Belly was also high quality but EXTREMELY fatty with an amazing roast but if you love that then go for it! I rate the Sake Don a 9.5/10 and the Salmon Belly a 8.5/10. I would 100% come back here for a 4th time and no regrets.

It's close by, the menu has a ton of variety, and everything is consistently pretty tasty. I especially love coming for the lunch specials, which they offer on weekends too. My boyfriend and I have our go to picks: the three item bento and the three roll combo. For the bento, we mix it up, but our usuals include chicken teriyaki, beef teriyaki, tempura, and salmon sashimi. Tonkatsu is solid as well. Chicken katsu is fine, but it tends to be a little dry for me. For the rolls, my favorites are the unagi roll, spicy salmon, and salmon and avocado. I'm a big salmon person, so their salmon always hits the spot. Service is usually friendly and quick. The ambiance is nothing fancy, but there's plenty of seating and it's comfortable enough for a casual meal.

The service is a bit spotty and often we had to wave their wait staff down to get a refill of water or to even place an order. I waved it off as it was busy as there was 2 wait staff carrying around orders for the whole place and dealing with what looks like online delivery. The restaurant is quite dark to give what would seem like an intimate vibe. I have visited here twice. 1. Edamame - I wouldn't get their flavored variant as whatever sauce it is was too sweet for my linking. 2. Miso - was what you'd expect. They did bring out the spoon so I guess most don't just sip it from the bowl. 3. Rolls - I had a variety of their rolls. I think their rolls are well balanced and very flavorful. Not too much rice and the right amount of fish. I can't say too much about their other dishes but as a sushi spot that doesn't carry too long of a wait, Miyakko is one of the better spots in the south side of San Jose. Most of my other favorites require a trek to Sunnyvale, Milpitas, or Fremont.

When we arrived, we got seated immediately. The host was flexible with us, allowing us to choose where we could sit. The restaurant is quite calm and has moderate noise. We ordered four rolls for two people. Our favorite was the Goku Special (10/10) since the crunchy outer layer matched perfectly with the fish flavor inside the roll. We rated the Dragon Roll 9/10, Mango Crunch 8/10, and Golden California Roll 7/10. All the rolls were delicious. We would definitely return here to eat sushi again!

The decor is a bit trite, but it's well lit and clean. The parking lot was crowded, but the restaurant itself wasn't overly busy, so we were seated immediately. The service was good--the servers were very friendly and attentive, and our food came out pretty quickly after we ordered as well. We ordered two of the sashimi sampler alongside the hamachi lover roll. I liked the roll! The ratio of fish, rice, and avocado were great. The sashimi sampler, however, was a little disappointing. The presentation was a little awkward--long, thin cuts of fish folded up into little bowls and scattered with greens. 4 of the 6 pieces were seared, which I have never expected when ordering sashimi. The pricing was a little on the higher end of normal, and, while the food was decent, it doesn't outdo any of the other local sushi spots that I have visited in the area. The roll was ~$17 and the sashimi sampler nearly $18. Overall, I think Goku Sushi is a decent spot. If I'm nearby and craving sushi, it is definitely in the running, even if it isn't my first choice. I'd personally ask for details on the contents of any of their samplers/combos in the future, though.

It is a tiny restaurant nestled in between CVS and another business, I forget what. But there is a tree blocking their signage and the additional small stand-up sign barely draws enough attention to the location. Restaurant is small, but the service is prompt and friendly. You order through a QR code on the table and all mobile devices ordering from the same table will have their orders consolidated. Beef Udon stir fry is tasty, but as many have said, on the sweeter side. Loooooove the texture and chew of the udon noodles. Very springy, almost like korean rice cakes or gnocchi. Sake chirashi bowl was delicious too. Would be nice if the wasabi was on the side. My daughter loves sashimi but can't handle when the wasabi touches the fish. Too spicy for her. Freshness of the fish is good. It's not the luxury cut of salmon, but the quality is still very worthwhile. Can't go wrong with Cali Roll, sweet potato fries, and spring rolls (fried egg rolls). Kids gobbled them right up. My bestie also ordered a sizzling plate which she finished just as quickly. Definitely RECOMMEND this spot for small get togethers, party of 5 or less. They may not have much in sushi variety, but what they dish up, they serve with pride with modest prices. Cheers to the sweet woman who gave our kids lollipops after their meal. Very family friendly.
