Fried well and the texture was what you would want, especially great for gluten free! The toppings/sauces were lacking for me. We thought the strawberry was the best but the others could have been stronger and more could have been put on the donuts. Literally allergic to egg, oat, soy, sesame and milk. So imagine how amazed I was when I found this restaurant and was able to eat the mini donuts! On top of that, they were crispy and delicious!! Great food. The donuts are small but they are delicious. I enjoyed the cinnamon sugar topping. The art on the walls is very creative and they have a really cool theme. It's great that they avoid the top allergens, which are a big concern for me since my son has a tree nut and sesame seed allergy. WOW WOW WOW - my husband and I have been on a quest for years to find a gluten free, vegan donut that actually tastes like a real donut, and this bakery has THE BEST allergen free donuts we've ever had, by far! As soon as I took the first bite, I was shocked by the perfect texture- a hint of crunchy on the outside, and soft and creamy inside. Usually gluten-free flour is a little dry, has an aftertaste. This has neither. For the first time in so many years, we felt like we were eating regular donuts, but even better. It was incredible. Flavors include maple, churro, pumpkin and more...all were delicious. My husband inhaled his share in 2 seconds of course. The donuts are allergen free - no gluten, no dairy, no corn, no chemicals or preservatives....just delicious and healthy goodness. I fell in love immediately and will be back each week to treat ourselves to this amazingly delicious but healthy somehow -- comfort food. Also - prices are extremely reasonable. Much cheaper than any other specialty store we've been to. They can give any donut shop a run for their money. The owner even came over and talked with us, told us her story and gave us a hug...who does that these days? It was clear from everything. I drove all the way from Tucson Arizona to try these and when I came in the store this morning it wasn't very busy but the two young ladies were not very friendly or professional, forgot my coffee and did not seem interested in engaging with me except to ring me up and gave all their courtesy to the family with children. Most gluten-free (and especially vegan) donuts really lack that donut texture and are more cake-y. Was looking for a place to get gluten free donuts and decided to give Chani's Donuts a try, and I'm so glad that I did! The shop has an adorable carnival theme and is inviting when you walk in. I believe it is a family owned shop, as I was greeted by a mother and her son when I came in. They were both very nice and happy to answer any questions that I had, and walked me through the process of ordering the donuts and selecting the toppings. They fry the donuts in front of you which I thought was really cool, and shows you how fresh the donuts are! The donuts themselves are tiny, but pack a ton of flavor! They are crispy on the outside, and deliciously chewy in the middle. This is the first gluten free donut I've had that tasted like an actual donut. They have a variety of topping choices, and regardless of the amount of donuts you order, you can customize them as you choose which was a nice touch. I also got a cup of their hot coffee with oat milk creamer and it made a delightful companion to my donuts. I will definitely be back and plan on making this a regular stop when I want a sweet treat.
