    Sourdough Twist

Holy Moly! Sourdough and Brioche Doughnuts, you can't go wrong with those! I picked up and sourdough cinnamon twist and a cup of coffee. The twist was terrific. My favorite part was the texture. It was soft, but had a nice slight pull and a great chew. The sugar and cinnamon levels were just right. I just had to try the savory parmesan and salami doughnut holes. I just had to. It was a great choice. It was even better than the twist. It was super soft, butter, ans packed with parmesan cheese flavor. It's a winner! The artisan sourdough brioche doughnut shop offers inside and outside seating. Hot coffee and cold brew are available. They are really nice people here.

These donuts are AWESOME, light, gr8 ingredients, cool staffers, I gots to try the breakfast sando's!! I got here early, a line quickly formed, many donuts were already taken, was bummin cuz I knew the 8-10 peoples in front of me were gonna clean house. Luckily for me, they were mostly sourpuss kiddo's that were confused the donuts looked different so they got all stank face and chose none, the group only bought 1 donut, I was laughing on the inside... kids... they so lameO, close minded... spoiled brats... ha!! Where has the adventure gone???? I feelin depressed about society these days.

Yum!! walked her for breakfast, we each got a donut and they were so good. Clean, fresh and not overly sweet. The shop is so cute and inviting, We ate on the patio. A few fun games, like tic-tac-toe, to entertain. After seeing a plated breakfast sandwich pass by our table I for sure need to come back and try that. Wow it looked good. Staff was very nice and friendly. Try this place! I am gluten free (preference) and feel fine after eating my cinnamon twisty.

Delicious donuts made with fresh ingredients, I must be at Sourpuss Donuts. On this visit I tried four different flavored donuts and each one was incredibly tasty. The medium roast coffee was equally satisfying. This is a fairly new addition to the area offering small batch donuts, coffees, kombuchas and savory items for breakfast or lunch. Behind the counter there's a friendly smile from a staff member serving up your order. There's plenty of seating in the patio, store front or at a bistro table inside. Give your taste buds a treat and stop in at Sourpuss Donuts.

Ok- my DIL looks for places that cook with good ingredients, so this place was on her list and I tagged along. Sourdough donuts. Yes, they do taste different and for us, in a very good way. So soft and cooked in coconut oil. So if you aren't used to those flavors, it will be different. I ate the Santa Fe Smash burger which included mild Hatch green chili, cheddar cheese and sourdough bun. Wow. It was perfection. Note- it is a bit on the smaller size, but also a perfect serving size. Some may find the prices a bit high, but you get what you pay for. I also like supporting a small business owner who is using high quality, organic ingredients. The fries (cooked in coconut oil) had great flavor. Salted just right and cooked golden. We also tried their FANCY deviled eggs. Again, very tasty and beautifully presented. We parked at the Mission Bay Park parking lot. It was a short walk. Make sure you notice they are closed Tue & Wed. I can't wait to go back!

Sourpuss Donuts is the best donut spot in SD! From the farmers markets to brick and mortar, this is the spot! Also- they are the only sourdough donuts in the city. The texture is perfectly pillowy and flavor choices are creative and delicious. These donuts are made with 0 seed oils and the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Drive over ASAP and get yourself a box and head to the beach and stuff your face. The owners are wonderful people and this is a small business to truly support.

These are the best donuts you will ever experience and then you'll keep coming back week after week to try the unique new flavors! My wife and I have traveled for donuts; so yea we're serious. The fact that they are sourdough would make them worth the taste, now add the creativity that Chef Renee brings with unique flavors and quality ingredients and they are a must try! (And yes, she is trained and talented Chef and Sommelier who brings these skills to her art.)

Breakfast sandwich was good , wish the donut was warmed while in the case would've been a 10/10 still good just needed to be warmed up ):

Comic con for the win!!!!…read more This place goes all out every year with the Comic-Con donuts. Every year they bring their unique donuts into the heart of Comic-Con with their pop-ups. I usually never have luck grabbing one at their donuts at the pop-ups, but it's good to know that they offer their pop-up comic con donuts at their main shop by Little Italy. Drove down Sunday morning to grab my hand on this year's batch. With Stitch, Batman, and Pokémon, this year's donuts were amazing. The donuts are $8, and you're basically paying for the design. They are pretty, but they don't hold much flavor other than looks; it's just a basic donut that looks really good. But I remember them tasting different from all angles, but I guess this year was different. Regardless, the donuts were really good and well worth the trip. Paid it with chocolate milk or coffee and wow just wow. I Can't wait for next year.

Smaller donuts, less flavor, lower quality, and a cheap storefront. What has become of donut bar?…read more Donut Bar was never my first choice for donuts but with their old location being across the street from the Marriott I usually stay at while visiting San Diego, it was never a bad choice. Last week while in town for San Diego Comic Con, we decided to stop by and boy were we disappointed. The "themed" donuts are just lazy. They used to have different fillings and flavors and now? You only get different color frosting for the designs. The workers confirmed they were all the same donut flavor without any special features aside from their appearances. We tried the maple bacon, creme brulee, and vanilla glaze. The bacon was chewy and gross on the maple bacon bar. The creme brulee sugar topping was soft and chewy. The filling was just way too sweet and liquidy. The vanilla glaze was basic. Across the board, all the donuts were dry. The design and layout are just so boring now. It used to be a cool and fun, cozy place to visit with so many more donut flavors and even savory options. Now it's just not worth it.

There is no customer service as everything you order is through the kiosk, which is fine. The drinks come out quick which is a plus. I did pay extra for the cute surprise toy. FOR THE WIN!!! (4.75 stars)…read more I love donuts. And I tend to stick to basic classical donuts. And therefore I am late to the trend with the mochi donuts! This location is inside Bober Tea and Coffee. There is a glass casing with several flavors to choose from and they sell at $3 a piece. The one that stood out to me was the chocolate with sprinkles. Upon receiving it in a paper pocket bag, the icing was rubbing off on the bag. That immediately told me this is super fresh! I could already feel the softness of the donut. The little sectioned off ball looking segments of the donut are also a game changer when it comes to eating - easier to eat without making a mess! The texture was bouncy, soft, lightly chewy and a little stretchy... the texture was fun and I found myself wanting another afterwards. I do wish they had offer other flavors that don't sounds too sweet because the other flavors didn't really catch me. Until the next review...

Our favorites we'd recommend is the coconut cream pie and the strawberry shortcake. The bacon maple still had an amazing texture and we loved how fluffy and satisfying the dough is made but I wasn't a fan of the bacon fat taste with the maple even though I usually like a sweet+savory combo. She was helping someone else but quickly wrapped up to take my order. The space was clean with plenty of seating. It was so hard to decide so I grabbed a few to share: Maple Bacon, Coconut Cream, Lemon and Horchata. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and appreciated that they were not overly nor greasy. The fluffiness reminded me more of a beignet and brioche. Will be back to try more flavors! 5/13- We returned for more. These were made to order and topping to dough ratio was too much. Maybe they were being generous, but they were overly sweet today. Bourbon Caramel, Strawberry Shortcake, Lemon, Blueberry Hill, Mango Margarita and Turtle Cheesecake. All great flavors, just too much of it.
