There was a bug in my friends drink and they replaced it and charged us. When we mentioned it they say no, you had an extra drink? I got the short rib and it was a massive long bone with about 5 bites of meat and a ton of fat. Everyone complained that the portion sizes were not what they used to be. My friend got the chicken Marsala and left 70% of it behind because it was so hard and chewy. We just chalked it up to a busy night. They charge 3% if you use a credit card. I hate that businesses up charge you for a service that they provide. Very greedy vibes. read more

Great date night restaurant! Good food, great service and a quiet ambiance! We come here often on special occassions and it never disappoints. Credit Card Surcharge. Our Recent Experience: This is the email I sent this day to Chardonnay and should be sent to all restaurants who are charging a Surcharge for the use of a credit card. Had the occasion to visit Chardonnay last evening. The meal and service was average at best. We have not been to the restaurant for a number of years due to the pandemic. The menu has changed and offers less choices. But, the real problem with the meal was when we received the check. Bad enough that customers pay for employees vis-a-vis a tip, but when the bill arrived there was a descrepancy between the bill amount and what was being charged on my receipt. When I questioned the server she said there was a 3% credit card charge. I know that that seems to be the trend these days, but you should know that we reduced the amount of your servers tip by 3%, I told her I was doing it, You may have little knowledge of the rise of the use of the credit card, but it became popular because people could go out for dinner or any meal or purchase something that they could not immediately afford and elect to pay it over time. Not only are you raising the costs by 3%, but most customers will probably leave a tip on that 3%. When you are unabashedly asking for tips from 20% to 30% and they add a surcharge for paying with a card you are insulting your customers who you depend on. This email will probably fall on deaf ears, but you can be assured that we will not return to your restaurant. Please don't insult my intelligence and pocketbook. read more

This place lives up to all the hype. Excellent food, great atmosphere and fantastic service. Lobster Cardinale was excellent, well prepared with generous amounts of seafood. Chicken Francaise was prepared perfectly paired with excellent mash potatoes. White Sangria was a big hit along with their draft beers. A must for dessert is the Melba pizza. Just order it. Ticket times were reasonable, despite it being a busy Friday night. Coffee for the night cap complimented dessert. read more

I made reservations for my family to come here for his birthday. The restaurant ambience is disjointed to me as they have a fantastic wine list with high prices but it has several huge TVs playing sports games. The restaurant is extremely loud, my elderly parents and I were having a hard time hearing each other speak. Our group ordered the Salmon with Risotto, Mussels, Chicken Piccata and the red meat special (I don't remember the exact cut of meat). Overall, the food was a step above home cooking. Nothing that we had could not have easily been replicated in my own kitchen. Totally mobbed on Margarita Monday, so I'm sure the staff was completely overwhelmed. When this happens and it's reflected in the meal, you comp. Not difficult. I ordered a margarita, expecting to get a margarita. I normally would stay away from a Seekonk margarita, but when the evening calls for a promo, you gotta dive in. I got the ingredients (I think) in a large whiskey glass with ice. So...not a margarita. Do you usually get ice in yours? I wouldn't know, I only got it for the cheap apps. But the giant margarita glasses that I saw pass the table all night would lead me to believe that I'd been hoodwinked. That was $14. I could have had my oil changed (with a coupon, of course) for that price. Or destroyed my colon at Wrights Farm with enough change for one of those chicken ice cream jimmy roll things. I ordered a shrimp cocktail app with that for $2 (promo), it never came. I mentioned that at the end of the night and asked for the nachos instead to go. I figured that a plate of nachos is worth more than one jumbo shrimp. Maybe. They came in a pizza box on wax paper. Ever tried to cook nachos on paper? I had to throw 50% of it away, it all stuck to the paper. Perhaps an investment into some tin foil would project the company in a positive linear path on the graph. My meal was the kabob trio (steak, scallops, shrimp) with a salad and rice. No rice was introduced to my plate at any point during the meal, it must have been shy. I didn't realize until after because I was laughing too hard at the portion size. For $27, you have to include more than two pieces of steak, two scallops, and three shrimp. I'd have paid no more than $12 for what I was given. I'm glad I wasted my Monday night out. I'm sure the kitchen was working their tails off, I know the wait staff was. But in the end when you're that bad, you have to recognize it and own it. I'm totally cool with giving a place a second chance during a slower night. They didn't seem too concerned with how we perceived the place, so now I have to pass along my perception. I'll go to the Price Rite down the street next time. At least if they screw up, it'll be cheap. read more

My family's go to for events, big birthdays, mother's day and more for the past almost 10 years now! Great for large groups, impeccable service, drinks and food. My go to for big family things is their filet mignon, butterfly cut, and either a Margarita or one of their fantastic martinis!! I recently went here on a more casual date and tried their pizza for the first time, it was delicious and just as good the next day! Went great with their Sangria! Came with my sisters and MADE A RESERVATION and still couldn't be sat. At that point why are you taking reservations? You can deny it. I've gone here before with friends, and the food was great! Maybe it was because it was a large group I don't know? However went on date with my hubby and the salmon was over cooked , too much ginger sauce to cover it up, the salad was a mixed green salad from the bag and served with plain rice with butter, for the cost of the meal, I could have done better at home. My husband's meal was more of an appetizer with boat of lobster sauce. Sorry this place didn't cut it go me this night out . I must say the waitress was very pleasant. I agree with the last two posts. Credit Card Surcharge. The food is good, the service is fine, they did change the menu and pricing and portions for some, but what hasn't gone up and down with everything in life not to your benefit. To have to pay a surcharge when using a credit card doesn't seem right, however, when it lists on the actual receipt that there is NO surcharge for Debit Cards or Cash and you use your Debit card, and they still charge you the credit card surcharge I believe that is legit stealing. I almost reduced the tip because of this but I'm not like that and didn't have time to stick around and argue with my child present. read more

Tonight we got take out. We've been to Chardonnay's many times, both for a sit down dinner and at the bar. When dining in, the drinks are delicious!! The Sangria comes in a massive glass, and they're delicious!! The BBQ chicken nachos are yummy. For takeout, they're good, too, but they're always better hot from the oven. Their pizzas are good, too. The fig and goat cheese, as well as the fresh tomato and mozzarella are good. One of their take out features is "take and bake" - they give you the pizza unbaked with directions for cooking at home. I have had a few experiences where the food has been over salted to the point of being almost inedible. We were disappointed with our takeout because the ingredients for the pizza - which we naked ourselves - seemed not as fresh as we expected. The tomatoes on the pizza were very tough and it wasn't great. If dining in, the drinks are what really make Chardonnay's great. Whether dining in or taking out, the food can be a bit hit or miss. read more

Came here last night to meet a girlfriend for Happy Hour - in the Bar area only, high top tables for a little privacy or at the bar. They have quite the selection for happy hour specials which is always a plus in my book - you're not limited to just 4 things. We didn't know that it was also Mega Mondays - with every Sangria or Margarita ordered, you get a complimentary Tapa (small plate appetizer). Can't complain! We both ordered a sangria each and accompanied our drinks with the teriyaki chicken skewers (comes in buffalo also) and the calamari. Also ordered the bbq chicken/pineapple pizza. The skewers were cooked well and had a nice flavor, but I didn't care much for the peanut sauce concoction. The calamari was delicious - def something worth ordering on its own the next go around. We both also enjoyed the pizza thoroughly - personally, I would've liked more pineapple. As for the drinks - holy moly they were ginormous. Almost too ginormous if you ask me. In this case - size doesn't matter. They were just ok for me, I tried to finish as much of it as I could but by the time I got to the halfway mark - alot of the ice melted already. I would've been fine with a drink half its size. Overall service was friendly but the place started to fill up quite a bit after we got in. Would def make the trip back here - great specials for happy hour that is worth a try! Prob wouldn't go with the sangrias again - would stick with a wine or hard cider next time around so I could actually enjoy my food a little more without worrying about my drink getting watered down. =) read more

This review has nothing to do with the service, because that's always excellent. The 1 star is for the food. I ordered a chourico and clam pizza ($19) last night and there was almost no clams on it and only a small amount of chourico. (Each slice of pizza had maybe 2 very small cubes of chourico.) Otherwise it was just a pile of cheese on a thin crust -- for $19. It was almost like they ran out of clams and chourico and were stretching it as far as possible. For that price, I felt like I got ripped off. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. We've been there several times, but I think it's time to take Chardonnay's off the list for a while. read more

Disappointing to say the least. I will start by saying I believe this is so highly rated because of regulars that come because the food here is great honestly. But let's get a taste of everything else. As far as waiting, we made reservations and got seated right on time around 8:05. We then ordered our food 5 minutes later. Appetizer came out quick (Nachos huge portion) for the entrees... we ate at 9:20.... It took over 75 minutes for a dinner of two. When the meal came out my $32 Steak was Cold. Didn't complain or send it back because I wasn't going to wait all over again. It's unfortunate because the taste was a 8.5/10 made well but after being told 30 minutes prior our food was almost out this really made it a no go. HONESTLY, only reason this got a 3 Star is because waitress was kind enough to take off the appetizer which was $15. Overall will not be coming back here, seems like it's a local kind of stop. read more

Been coming here for years. Bartenders and drinks are good. Food is good as well. The game changed for me when we noticed a discrepancy in our bill. When our server returned with our bill and credit card for payment we noticed an increase in the final bill. We inquired about the difference and was told they add a 3 percent charge for using a credit card. Won't be back until that changes. read more

This place was absolutely horrible. The Caesar salad tasted like it had been sitting out all day and the croutons were soggy. I ordered the filet mignon and ordered it medium rare and it came out absolutely bloody like it was just seared on the outside. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib and also ordered it medium rare and it came out very over cooked. Mind you the steaks costed 35 and 44 dollars respectively and both had absolutely no flavor. I went a little while back to try out this spot during restaurant week. It is a fun place to go with girlfriends. I also noticed several families enjoying this establishment. It is cozy and inviting. I can't speak to a typical night there (it may have been busier than usual due to RW), but we had a good experience on this particular evening. The service was good, the drinks were tasty and the food was lovely. The value for restaurant week was good, especially considering that one of your "courses" included a desert-type martini. The food at chardonnay's never disappoints me. From seafood to pasta it's all cooked just right and served beautifully. The service is excellent. This is a very busy spot on weekend so I definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time or you will have a long wait time in most cases. Got takeout for Chardonnay's 7 days ago. Order was messed up and did not get correct food. Called immediately 30mins after getting wrong food and host said that they would credit my card for the item that I did not get. Never got it. Waited two days and called again and spoke with the general manager who was nice and reassured me that she was on it and I would get my refund. Well it has now been a week and I haven't gotten anything back. Very disappointed and won't be back!!! read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and it's one of my favorites. It's a very popular place especially on the weekends so expect a wait or make reservations. It's a very intimate restaurant the lighting is darker and the tables are lit with candles perfect spot for a date night. They also have a good size bar and that's always a cool spot to hang for drinks and apps. I have had many if not all the dishes on the menu and everything is very good but like everyone I have my favorites. For the Apps the Portuguese clams are an amazing way to start dinner; in the middle of the plate is a big piece of bread soaked in the sauce they make the clams with so good. The clams are not small at all and the sauce really compliments them. Another great app is the Rhode Island style calamari the batter is perfectly seasoned and I love them together with the banana peppers. On to the main dishes.. I absolutely love their pizzas they are very thin and fire grilled. The Fig jam and Arugula one will tantalize your taste buds. My all time Favorite pizza is not always on the menu but sometimes they will still make it and it is the Mediterranean omg so good. If you fall in love with their pizza like I did they have the take and bake for at home I love this option!! Some other go to dishes for me are: - the Pork Medallions which melt in your mouth and the sauce is bursting with flavor. Get the mashed potatoes for your side they are the best I have ever had. -The Tuscany Chicken is also a great dish the chicken is well seasoned and very juicy. -The LOBSTER RAVIOLI which is not always on the menu if you see it get it you will not be disappointed NOM NOM NOM!! The dessert is the perfect way to end the night my favorites are either the Brownie Sundae or the S'mores Camp Fire ice cream pie with fire charred marshmallows omg the gram cracker crust is awesome. I have never been let down with their food and drinks which is why I gave 4 stars but I didn't give 5 because recently I made reservations for Valentine's Day well in advance but then tried to call, email, & message on Opendoor to modify by reservation. Nobody picks up the phone both at the hostess nor manager phone extensions. I left messages and nobody got back to me nor online either. I tried modifying in advance to prevent issues but their voice messaging system said they were short staffed which is too bad. Because it was important to receive a reply back regardless if it was a yes or no answer, I cancelled my reservation and they lost my business. Makes me nervous how the service would be if they don't even have someone to answer the phone. I love this restaurant and hope they can find help.
