This is NOT like the Charlestons on West Dodge, the reliable quality, service and food there did not make it here. Salmon Short Stack is a different cut, flat and bland and not smoked. The turkey burger we ordered was actually ground beef( and drier than even ground turkey would have been ). There were tons of servers, bussers, coffee pourers and water pourers but they never came to our table. Entrees took forever to arrive and when I asked what appeared to be the head waiter he explained that he was only the conductor in the symphony and everyone had to play their part. (How about you play the part of a server?) he was much too busy showing off his arm's length tattoo to the table next to us. (Doesn't do much for my appetite.) the ribs were good, other entrees very poor. The pourers continuously tried to take my plate while the other two were still eating ( see rule #5 in fine dining ) and atleast 4 times I asked them to leave my plate until the others were done (no communication by the conductor, I guess ) Then, after we were all done, illustrated man convinced us to order the chocolate dessert. I ordered coffee, the chocolate dessert never arrived. We received coupons in the mail recently only good at the new location. Doesn't matter, I'd rather go to Applebee's next door, maybe even Olive Garden across the street! read more

This is not a steak house. This is not traditional American food. This restaurant is overpriced. If you desire to pay for atmosphere then by all means go here. If you are immune to what real good food should taste like, go here. If you like paying for extras that should be included with your meal, by all means go here. One could go to a corner bar and receive better food, drinks that don't empty your pockets and a meal tab that you would not have to finance. I will never patronize another Charleston's restaurant based on my recent experience at this Charlestons location where the manager Vince Fletcher disrespected and insulted with his rude comments and behavior; 20 college educated, professional, African-American women of a prominent international sorority with over 300,000 members. The level of overt and blatant racism/Trumpism displayed by this manager was a true shock to all in the room. Even as the group remained calm and professional and the Chapter President & event Chair tried to speak with Vince Fletcher to inform him of what they had been told or promised by a cooperative employee by the name of Mike; Vince continued to escalate his level of rudeness to the point of personal insults and attack at the Chapter President and event Chair. Never before have I witnessed such unprofessionalism, absence of customer service, and general lack of hospitality and civility. I applaud those women for walking out and taking their business across the street to Longhorn Steakhouse where they were greeted and treated with respect and dignity. I would encourage all African-Americans to boycott all Charleston's restaurants in support of this sorority's efforts to bring awareness to the power of the African-American dollar and the blatant racism that is occurring in National restaurant chains such as Charleston's. read more

I love the first Charleston's. This Charleston's is still working out the bugs. The inside is wonderful. The menu is pretty close to the other site. When I ordered by enchilada plate - I asked if it was spicy. The waiter Ryan said a bit. I asked if they could make it spicier, to which he said he would try. We had great beer and great conversation. When the food arrived, my husband's looked right..mine came with a side of crushed red pepper flakes, about 2 Tablespoons. I told the server to take it back. This is not customizing my meal, even Burger King says they will make it my way...this is a diy version of that. It looked fine..until I started to cut into it. The inside of it (chicken) was cool and not warm. I called Ryan over and he took it right away. The manager came over to explain away the crushed red pepper....to which I told him I had expected them to spice up the sauce for me rather than give me a bottle of spice I could have gotten at Hy-Vee...my bigger issue, I told him, was that it was cold. He said no problem, but never offered to keep my husband's meal warm. So there he was, with his meal getting cold..while we waited. The manager came back again and we decided that jalapenos would be a good try. It came after about 10 more minutes....and it was good. I had to dice my own peppers..but good. They checked again and I told him it was fine. When the bill came, there was no adjustment for their lack of service or their cold food. Maybe I have watched too many restaurant impossible shows...but I know that when I pay $13 for enchiladas...to which I would get about the same for half that....no sides, just tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and guac..... I think they have a lot of issues that need to be worked out. I did mention my dismay to the waiter...and he came back. The manager footed the beer. lol read more

Visited this location for the first time yesterday, a Sunday, at about 5:30 p.m. The restaurant seemed rather empty - but this might be expected on an early Sunday evening. Great looking bar and restaurant. I actually like the looks of this one much better than the one out West. Our server, Megan, was fantastic. My chicken fried chicken was fantastic - not on the menu but Megan suggested it instead of the chicken friend steak. I actually prefer chicken fried chicken so was elated when she said it could be made even though not on the menu! My husband liked his fish and chips. We will definitely be back! read more

Shocked to say we had a great first experience. We ordered the filet and a roasted chicken. Both entrees were cooked to perfection. Restaurant was very clean. Staff very attentive and prompt. Definitely will try again. Only hiccup was after being greeted by sweet hostess, a man waked up barking something about another table. Never even said hello. He scowled and hurried us along. Aside from that, rather pleasant. Definitely pricy, but good value. We left stuffed and I have leftovers. read more

Sat down with my wife, we both ordered drinks, and an appetizer. Received drinks and cups of water, drinks were good. Appetizer took 20+minutes to arrive. We were informed that the original went to another table. We discovered a large price of plastic in the shrimp appetizer. It was delicious besides the wait and plastic. We both got soups and they were very tasty, especially the baked potato. We waited for 10+ minutes for a second round of drinks. Our water cups remained empty the whole meal. House salads were good the homemade ranch was delicious. Steaks came out and I only received half of my wine and blue cheese topping, I had to wait another 5 minutes for the blue cheese portion of the topping. The fillet I ordered was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. I wish I could have enjoyed the complete topping. My wife had a strip stlye of steak that was rather tough. If there had been better service along with better meal preparation maybe a better review would be in order. read more

Good restaurant in a weird location. This used to be an Old Country Buffet location and it just doesn't quite seem right. Now it is a Charleston's and the menu is the same as the one west Dodge. Food is as good as the other one. read more

Went for Sunday lunch. Three of us ordered the Ribs and Chicken meal. The waiter returned a short time later and informed us that there was only enough chicken cooked for 2 meals. Now why at lunchtime would you not have enough chicken cooked for people to order? It is obviously a popular selection, and the kitchen should have been better prepared. Very disappointing. We visited for my husband's birthday and had to wait almost 20 min. for our appetizer to arrive. Our drinks were also empty and no one asked us for refills. It turns out our waitress felt a large table was more important than ours and was over there filling their waters and making sure their food was on time. She even went past us without looking. What a jerk! We then had to wait an extra 15 min. for our food which was yuk! The fish and chips were dripping in oil and the Champagne salad was sour. My husband thought his was mediocre. What a big disappointment and they have no contact number on their website. Never again! read more

We went here in March for my husband's 40th birthday and I'd have given it 4 stars then. My previous experience at the West O had been very positive. This past Sunday evening however has moved them to a 2 star review and no plans to ever return again. It was my son's 18th birthday and we thought this would be a nice place to celebrate. We arrived and were sat right away and the restaurant wasn't too busy. Our server was fine-not spectacular, but okay. We ordered drinks and appetizers (Spinach/Artichoke Dip and Chicken Quesadilla). Unfortunately our server heard queso. We had that fixed. My husband and mother both ordered the Caesar salad with their entrees. They burned their tongues. They asked the server why they were so hot. He reported back that the kitchen said there was tabasco in the dressing. Who puts tabasco in a Caesar???????? My mom's filet was fine, but my husband and son's prime rib were extremely sub par. The meat was tough/chewy. We should have made the management aware right then, but we didn't. My husband called today to make them aware and was told they don't use Tabasco, and basically was "sorry and hope to see you again soon." Well, that won't happen. Had management been a little more sympathetic to a $200 Applebee's quality dinner, and if maybe someone knew what was in their Caesar salad, maybe I'd give them 3 based on previous experiences, but if the management doesn't care enough about customers, they clearly don't want them back. read more

Love this place! It's kind of a relative of Houston's which I thought was obvious the first time I dined there. The hamburger's a dead ringer for theirs. Their carrots I don't normally like sweet cooked) are delicious and I really need that recipe. The chicken fried steak tastes quite goods but the cooks need lessons on how to get the breading to stick. It all falls off and ruins the integrity of the whole meal. So I don't order this anymore. The croissants are wonderful and I wish they brought a bread basket with these in it. Actually, any bread basket would be nice. The bring out little cups of catsup. I so wish they'd just bring the bottle. I hate begging for extra. The beverages, on the other hand, aren't allowed to get empty. A very nice thing. This brings me to the absolutely best part of the meal -- the key lime pie. I always get it to go after the generous meal I already enjoyed. Anyway, the piece of pie is very large and also a little pricey, but so worth it. The crust is divinely delicious. The filling is perfect and plentiful. The amount of genuine whipped cream is certainly staggering and sweetened just right. OMG. It's a nice dessert to share with someone you love later that evening as you chill in front of the tv. read more

We love Charlston's - have never been disappointed! It is our go-to restaurant for romance, great food, and great service when visiting Omaha! I noticed a Yelp review commenting on the dim lighting but that is all part of the ambience to us. On our last visit, my complaint would have been the two hostesses not even acknowledging me but this time I had no issue. Our server was Amy who did a great job with refills and friendly service! We tried the prime rib for the first time which seemed average (didn't care much for the au jus). But this in no way can lower my five star rating because everything else we have eaten has been so good! The oven roasted chicken is a favorite and we always have to add their delicious house salads with a melt in your mouth croissant! I sat in view of the kitchen and was disappointed to see a server blow her nose on a paper towel and not wash her hands but again, this is not a true representation of the restaurant. We love the otherwise professionalism of the servers and appreciate how everyone helps each other. read more
