Oh the reason for the 3 starts was become I asked the server for some strawberry lemonade. And he said pink lemonade, I replied "no strawberry lemonade " and he replied that is what pink lemonade was. We went back and forth and he assured me that their pink lemonade = strawberry lemonade. Prompt service by Meghan without at all making us feel rushed leads to a huge THANK YOU! Salads were the course of the day: DYNAMITE SHRIMP SALAD: crispy shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy cream sauce, mixed greens, carrot, cabbage, bean sprouts, green onion, sugar snap peas, cilantro, sesame ginger vinaigrette, peanut sauce, and toasted sesame seeds. As good as described by our knowledgeable waitress. The shrimp are spicy but the dish is not unbearably hot. The other: KALE & QUINOA SALAD baby kale, quinoa, cabbage, grilled chicken, mint, green onion, cilantro, mango, green apple, dates, spiced pecans, honey-lime vinaigrette, and peanut sauce. I was in town for business and found Charleston's by chance. I was very happy I had. I went back the second night of my stay because my first night was so good. I had the roasted chicken the first night and that was very good. The second night I had their ribs and they were outstanding. I am a dressing snob and my salad with Ranch and Blue cheese was just excellent, Great flavor. The show stopper for me was the croissant. Light, fluffy and drizzled with a honey glaze.....excellent!!!! The cherry on top were the two young ladies that were my bartenders over the two nights. They were polite, attentive and generally just genuinely pleasant!! I wish I had remembered their names so I could given them a shout out, great job ladies!! Friendly service and relatively kid friendly. We took our almost 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter. They had a kids meal list with lots of options on it and everything was $7. My kids got the Mac and cheese and the fruit, cheese and yogurt plate. It wasn't Kraft which was nice and my son loves penne noodles so it went over great and it was a large enough portion he ate his fill and my daughter had some and we still took some leftovers home. I had the dynamite shrimp which was good not too spicy so if you hoping for a good kick it's not really for you. FYI the salads are HUGE! My husband is a pretty big guy and the salad (I think it was the chicken salad) was so large he couldn't eat his ribs. Which I think is good since it's $18/salad. All in all enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere in this place was nice. It would be a nice date night place. The menu has a good variety for people that have different food tastes. Everyone I was with enjoyed they're food immensely and I did too except when I was almost done I noticed the last few bites of my chicken weren't cooked all the way through. Had dinner here on my recent business trip. We were in the mood for some steak and this place come recommended by some of the locals. It had a nice bar in the middle and plenty of seating surrounding it. It had the feel of a steak house, dim lighting, and you can smell the food in the atmosphere. Service was very good. Very attentive. I ordered the Prime Rib with mash potatoes, side salad, and blackened shrimp. Everything was tasty and the only reason why it was 5 stars is the temperature of the prime rib. It was room temperature and not warm/hot. Other than that, no issues. To close out the meal, I had the carrot cake which the server claimed were made daily. It was delicious, very moist. We've eaten at Charleston's in other cities and DH loves their chicken and carrots. We decided to give this location a try and it did not disappoint. We both had chicken. DH had a baked potato and carrots for sides. I had the mashed potatoes and baked beans as sides. All were delicious. Sometimes with baked potatoes, you get one that was baked the day before and just reheated -- not here! Their mashed potatoes are the bomb! Baked beans are more like chili than "plain" baked beans. Dined here with my aunt on a Friday night before an event at the playhouse. The place was packed but fortunately I had a reservation. We were seated in one of the smaller booths for two. I had been here before at a Yelp Event so I knew the food and the service were probably going to be fantastic and no surprise that they were. I didn't want anything too heavy so I opted for the Dynamite Shrimp Salad and was surprised by how large it was - they didn't skimp on the shrimp! The sesame ginger vinaigrette gave it a nice, almost spicy kick in addition to the cilantro, peanut sauce, and green onions. I was very pleased with my meal and ate every bite including the delicious honey butter croissant that came on the side. My aunt got the trout with veggies that she was very happy with. The servers kept our beverages full and checked on our table several times. I tend to order the clam chowder soup and the Caesar salad combo that has just enough clams in it!! Most recently I had experienced a lot of difficulty with the 3rd party delivery service that services Charleston's. While it's NOT the fault of the restaurant, Jason the manager went above and beyond to try and help me straighten the mess out. I honestly was pleasantly shocked at how much dedication Jason had to correct the issue which went on for several hours. I really enjoy coming to Charleston's. I always get great service from the hosts to the wait staff and the manager who always checks up on us. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The food is always good. I had the kale and quinoa salad with chicken and they always are good about keeping the salad dressing to the side and taking off a few items I prefer not to be on my salad. As usual the size of the salad is bigger than I need but I always find a way to finish my meal. They also make sure my glass is full.
