The bacon 3 cheese did not have enough bacon or cheese, and with Parmesan peppercorn, I didn't pick up on those flavors either. Charley's Cheesesteaks is a chain that poorly attempts to bring the culinary wonder of the cheesesteak to the masses. As I said, they poorly attempt to bring cheesesteaks to the communities that they serve. Think of their food as kind of a fast food version of a cheesesteak. Maybe I am being overly critical. I have lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the mecca for cheesesteaks and ground zero for the best cheesesteaks. As I said, I am perhaps overly critical of cheesesteaks, but in my defense, I have often been let down. But I have to say that even for someone that never tried a cheesesyeak from Philadelphia, they would still be let down by this subpar rendition of a cheesesteak. There is one advantage to the place. It is located in the Waterford Lakes Town Centre. But that is little consolation or advantage to getting a cheesesyeak from here. I tried this place again, and it's a total disappointment. I was ignored, overcharged, and ripped off. 1. I was totally ignored when I came in. I was literally standing directly in front of two employees at the cash resister and was completely ignored. One employee picked up the phone to take a phone order, because someone sitting at home is so much more important than someone who took the time to come into the restaurant. The other employee was making fries. Neither of them even exhibited the slightest eye contact or body language to acknowledge that I wasn't completely invisible. 2. When the phone order was complete, they continued to ignore me while they tried to figure something out on the cash register. 3. When it came time to take my order, there was no thank you or apology, it was simply "how can I help you," as if I was an annoyance, when in fact I was the one annoyed. 4. I was overcharged. I ordered a combo with a drink and gourmet fries, which should cost $3.99. I was charged individually for a regular Philly Cheese Steak, Ultimate Fries, and a Regular Soft Drink, so my bill was almost $14.00. 5. The Iced Tea was awful, it's obvious that it had been sitting there all day. I don't drink fountain beverages, so I ended up paying for a drink and having water. I would complain, but what's the point? When you're in a situation with so many things wrong the people that are at fault aren't going to care. Visited this location because I was craving Charley's and had not had it in years. I walked in and about 4 employees standing behind the counter just stare at me. No one says anything, not even a simple hello. So I take the initiative and say "hi..." still no one speaks. They just stare. So i acknowledge the elephant in the room and say "so everyone just stares at you...? Okay... got it." and I awkwardly laugh. Still no one states a word. Just more stares. Almost as if I'm interrupting their day or as if they have never seen a customer before. Despite that interaction- I'm the only one in line so I ponder the menu for a few seconds & I proceed to attempt to place my order and I get cut off by the male employee mid order stating and pointing to the register "order down there." AH HA, someone does have a voice box!Suddenly - someone speaks here! I chuckle at the audacity. And proceed to walk to the the register. Then it hit me - I don't have to spend my money here. I left. Not interested in spending my money in a place like this. I get it things are tough, staffs are short and there is grace for that...but to to just ignore and stare at a customer is an outrageous. We used to eat here all the time before a movie next door, but it has become cheap and dirty. The customer service is lacking as well. My daughter's chicken buffalo sub was nearly all bread. The loaded fries tasted old and the ranch tasted bad. I asked for well done onions on my sandwich and the order taker gave me a look as if to say "Whatever", then never relayed my request to the sandwich maker. I asked again and he rolled his eyes. My steak and cheese was nothing more than a cheap steak-um covered in mayo. The fountain drink machine was down. A man ahead of me asked for water from the tap and was refused. Since 1999, we have been customers of Charleys. We have always appreciated how fresh the products are. However, the customer service at this location is atrocious. We arrived at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, and they began to close even though the website stated that they were open until 9:00 p.m. They had already cleaned the ice cream machine and had closed the majority of the tables. We also couldn't get shakes or ice cream. They didn't have any cookies for children. The cashiers and the ladies at the cooking station are simply rude. Their philly cheesesteaks are the bomb! Wait time depends on how heavy the line is, but usually about a 5-10 min wait. They cook the steak fresh right in front of you on their grill, and once you see your sandwich served your mouth will salivate at the gooey steak-y goodness that is your sandwich. Charley's has really good fries too. Their quality is consistent, as I've received the same quality as the one in their Florida Mall food court brach. read more

Not great. Wanted to try a new place and brought my family of 6 in. We had to jam the 6 of us into a small table. We got 3 regular Philly's with fries and 2 kids meals. My son and I were still hungry when done with our sandwich and fries. For the cost I think more sandwich substance would have been nice. The fries werent bad. The kids meals weren't good. There were signs plastered on the walls like '100% all white meat chicken breast, no fillers' however the kids chicken was definitely not within that realm. These Cheesesteaks are just fantastic! The best to be had in the area! And the best thing is that they don't taste like a food chain product. I love a bargain so they had me when I saw the sign for a chicken sub with fries for $4.99. It's been a few years since I've eaten here, but I used to really enjoy the Steak Subs and fries. This time, the fries were really good but that chicken sub had no flavor at all other than the pungent raw onions that dominated the sandwich. To be fair, I didn't have any cheese but I couldn't taste the bread, the meat, the mayonnaise lettuce, or tomato. Geez, there should have been a lot more flavor than that. Love their cheesesteak sandwiches. I've been twice now and am ready to go back again. The fries aren't bad either. The tea isn't the best, but it's not terrible.
