Listen, this is the place to be on a Friday! This spot was recommended to us while we were in town celebrating my nephew's 30th birthday, and from start to finish, we had a great time. The presentation and service were on point. We started with the lobster and our only regret of the night. It was $125 and unfortunately overcooked, so I wouldn't recommend it. Our server was nice as far as the bare minumum requirement for this establishment. But he wasn't the worst either. They have a Colossal Lobster they serve here and I believe it's about 24oz which is significantly bigger than the normal 17oz. This was our appetizer and we got it broiled because we didn't want frying the lobster to take away from the flavor which was the best decision. We got the Porterhouse steak to share along with lobster mac n cheese (The steak came with a house sala + cheese garlic bread) & honestly this all SO MUCH FOOD. The food did not fall short of our expectations and honestly the steak needed no extra flavors because it was so perfectly season and tender. We got the steak medium and I would definitely suggest it this way. We had salads and bread, the salad was a pretty good size and the dinner rolls arrived warm. Both were very delicious so be careful and pace yourself "lol". Our anniversary dinner at Charley's was amazing!! Started with appetizer of seared ahi tuna and some meatballs they make out of all the meat trimmings each day. The Cesar salad was good but massive, The steak (filet minion) was literally the best we've ever had, it was seasoned to perfection, I topped it with the truffle butter and would do it all over again. Fiancé and I went to Charley's steakhouse on 1/4/2026. I am a Tampa Bay native and a steakhouse lover, but have never tried this place until now. It was okay, not a place I am dying to eat again. There were highlights and downfalls of this establishment. First of all, the interior and exterior atmosphere is beautiful. The place has an old-timey feel, cigars, a display of their classic cuts. The booth was extremely comfortable and the service was not rushed- but not overly drawn out. Everything is a la carte pretty much- and the menu is seafood, beef, and potato heavy. I informed the waitstaff of my shellfish allergy, which was accommodated. The only concern was that they did proceed to bring out the meat platter, which had a large lobster tail on it too. I did not think it was appropriate to bring a lobster to the table, as I did not want the table getting contaminated as I had let the staff know that nobody in our party would be eating any shellfish for the evening. The bread was a cheesy-garlic bread. It was very good, soft, warm, with a great flavor. You could tell it was freshly baked. My partner got the house salad and it was enjoyable- I upgraded to the Wedge salad and it was the highlight of my meal. The roquefort was delicious and the steakhouse lardons were addicting! I could not stop eating them. For our entrees, I ordered the Dry Aged Kansas City Strip, cooked medium rare. I was told it was 28 ounces but it did appear a bit smaller, not such a big deal as my eyes tend to be bigger than my stomach. My steak was well-seasoned, but was tough and unevenly cooked. Parts of the steak were rare, while others were well-done. This was a bit disappointing. I ordered the peppercorn sauce accompaniment, and it was saccharine sweet. Not a fan of My partner ordered the Dry Aged bone-in Ribeye, cooked Medium. Surprisingly, his steak was rarer than mine- even though it was ordered a temp higher! I did try it and it was well seasoned and tender, but he states it was nothing to go crazy about. We shared the side of Au Gratin potatoes- a unique take on the classic dish; the potatoes are diced and the crust is made of cornflakes- not crushed, just whole pieces of cereal. The potatoes felt a bit undercooked, but were well-seasoned. The cornflake crust was a bit bizarre but certainly makes the dish memorable. Overall, this steakhouse was decent but not incredible. Still my favorite steakhouse in the area. We don't come here that often, but when we do, we love it. If you come here early expecting to be able to drink at the bar easily, you're in for a surprise. There is an area where you form a line to order a drink, but it is very slow. Since we got here twenty minutes early it still made sense for us to stand in the line and get a cocktail, but in the future I wouldn't shoot to get here earlier than our reservation. I got the prickly pear margarita and it was delicious. 10/10 would get it again. My husband got the old fashioned and enjoyed it. At our table, our friend brought wine. It's a $50 corkage fee, so they are definitely trying to dissuade you from bringing your own bottles. We started with the Colossal Seafood Tower. Right now they have stone crab and there was also another cup full of crab on the tower. It was absolutely delicious. For $199 it is on the pricier side and I would highly suggest sharing with 3-4 people. However, I love it and I'll probably get it every time we come here as long as we are on a double date. We split a Caesar salad and the 24 oz Porterhouse. The steak comes with cheese bread that is pretty good. Both the Caesar and the Porterhouse were delicious, so I've found a winning combo. We also got the creamed corn. I didn't expect to really like it, but I ended up loving it. It's made with cream cheese and was absolutely delicious. Our friends got the teriyaki truffle sauce on the side (which sounded so weird), but it was actually really good. So moral of the story is I was wrong about everything I thought I'd be ho hum about and ended up loving it. For future Christina's knowledge, you can self park in the parking lot when you first enter the lot. They also have complimentary valet. So I think it will depend on what type of shoes I'm wearing We ended the night with espresso martinis (I had mine decaf) and it wasn't too sweet. For a splurge dinner, I expect better service. We were constantly waiting for our drinks, then we had to ask to order appetizers, then we had to ask to order entrees, then we had to check in on our deserts because it took over 35 minutes to get desert! My only quibble is with the lettuce wedge salad--I really appreciate a good wedge salad with my steak, but do not like blue cheese dressing. Charley's has limited dressing options other than the blue cheese, Caesar, and their house vinaigrette, so having a lettuce wedge salad wasn't much of an option. Great wine list too.
