Date of service: Sunday, January 26, 2025 The good: Scenery is nice, with the big fish tank in the middle. Our food was really good. My Prime Rib was great and the Chart House cut is a perfect size portion. It came with a small portion of garlic mashed potatoes. My MIL had the jumbo crab cake and said it was delicious. The crab cake was served on top of a soft shell crab. The bad: For downtown Las Vegas, we figured CH would be a nice restaurant for a birthday celebration. It is inside the Golden Nugget, but far away from casino noise. Sure, people can get rowdy in Vegas, but you'd think they could control themselves in a nice restaurant. If they can't, it is staff's job to reel them in. Our night started well. The bar and restaurant were full and people seemed to be having a good time. But not one group was louder than the next. It was a nice atmosphere. A few minutes after we had ordered, a group of young ladies were seated next to us. They started out like everyone else, but got progressively louder. As one would get loud, another would get louder to talk over the first loud one. The next thing you know, each of the four is trying to be louder than the others to have their story or comment heard. Staff walked by them several times, but did not address the problem. One couple seated nearby appeared frustrated and left their table immediately after finishing their meal versus enduring more of the loud group. After almost 30 minutes of the noise getting louder and staying loud, I had to get up and ask them to quiet down. The ladies apologized and seemed to understand. But, within a few minutes, two got up and left, looking mad. Then after another minute, the other two got up and left, leaving all their drinks and not receiving their meals. When the server and manager finally realized the were all gone, they began looking for them. At the same time, the ladies must have been looking for the manager to complain about us, because the manager showed back up at their table with a drink tray and one of the ladies to take their drinks to another table. As they walked past us, the classless B flipped us off. Another table seated near us thanked me for saying something and commented how staff didn't do anything about something that was obviously a problem for other guests. The guys also said they saw the flip off. Part of our group could see them at their new table and could see the manager kissing their butts and really listening to whatever their complaint was. They continued to be loud at their new table and we could hear them from ours. Something along the lines of "you're in Vegas". The manager came back by our table and had a don't care attitude. He never apologized or offered any compensation. The apology was more important to me, but he made it seem like we didn't matter. He even had the nerve to say that I should have notified him versus handling it myself. We pointed out that was the problem, no one from his staff did anything. He didn't have a comment to that, just reiterated to let him handle it, as that is his job. This experience put a downer on our meal and experience at Chart House. Again, the food was really good, but we can't get over the lack of control and action from the staff, especially the manager. read more

If you're staying at or near the Golden Nugget on Fremont Street the Chart House is an excellent dining option to consider. I have dined here twice and I was very pleased with my meals and the service provided. I've had both prime rib and fish entrees which were cooked and seasoned well. The side dishes and desert were equally tasty. The wait staff and support team are friendly, helpful and very efficient. If you make a reservation for a special occasion, request a table adjacent to the massive salt water aquarium for a touch of ambiance. On the back side of the aquarium there are several more intimate tables for two. read more

I love Charthouse, We were here the last time and I ordered the Calamari and Prime Rib plate. It was delicious. But I love our location better in California, because we get to eat right by the water. LOCATION: Inside the Rush Tower of the Golden Nugget, really easy to get to from the self-park garage. If you're coming from Fremont Street head towards the back and follow the signs for Rush Tower. AMBIANCE/CLEANLINESS: The 75K gallons giant fish tank in the center is definitely the focal point! It's about 15 feet and mesmerizing giving the place a tropical feel. We sat right next to it and had fish swimming right by during our entire meal. FOOD: I started with the Lobster Bisque which had a decent amount of lobster and tasted good. For my entree I had the Specialty Platter. With this plate you get coconut shrimp, calamari, lobster, and fish with some skinny fries as the side all for $33. You can't beat that! SERVICE: Donnie was our waiter, was amazing! He was very friendly and attentive. His recommendations were spot on. No one from the management team stopped by to check in, which is expected at a high end restaurant, but since every thing went so well there was nothing to report other than how great Donnie was. I have dined at different Chart House restaurants over the past couple decades and have always had a good experience (especially recently at the one in Portland, Oregon). So, when my hubby asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday, I decided on the Chart House as it was close to my work and convenient for a Monday night. (I also had a $25 birthday credit in my Landry's Select Club app.) We had reservations for 6:00. I got there early and grabbed a glass of wine at the bar. The bartender was friendly and the wine on happy hour, so that earns the one star. I checked in with the hostess when I got there and asked if it was possible to get a table by the aquarium, she said she would put us on the list. My hubby arrived just before 6 and we let the hostess know we were both there and ready when our table was ready. The hostesses were not friendly and just did their job (although maybe not, as I would think being friendly and welcoming would be a key part of their job...). We got sat at 6pm at a booth facing the aquarium (this was really the only other positive, along with the bartender). I did include in Open Table that we we're celebrating a birthday and if we could get a table by the aquarium it would be appreciated. I had not eaten much for lunch in anticipation for my birthday dinner, so we ordered right away, as did the table in front of us that was sat just after us. This other table received their appetizer, meals, paid their check and left before we ever got our meal. Before ordering I asked if they did anything for birthdays and the waiter said they have a mud pie that they give out. I ordered a 3-course meal: clam chowder, miso maple glazed salmon, and lava cake. My hubby ordered the coconut prawn dinner. After about 10 minutes we received the bread basket, and 5-10 minutes later I got my soup. The chowder was good, but there was not much of it. A bus person came by and cleared the soup dish as well as the bread basket. Our server decided to drift past our table about 30 minutes after we ordered and asked if I had gotten my soup yet; I said yes and he said good. About 15 minutes after that he drifted by again and said that our food should be out soon, I mentioned that I hoped so... We were never offered more bread while we waited, which I would have expected, especially with how long our meals were taking. We finally got our meals at 7:06. My salmon and green beans were lukewarm and the flavor was not great--quite unexceptional. The last time I had salmon at a Chart House (in Portland), it was so good that I had to return the next week with my husband for another serving. I ate my dish because I was very hungry at that point and did not want to risk sending it back and waiting another hour for my dinner. My husband said his prawns were good, but not great as he would expect from the CH. We finished our dinners and about 15 minutes later a food runner brought the lava cake and a melted small slice of mud pie, stating "this is what we give for special occasions." Our server stopped by a few minutes later and said the mud pie was complements of the CH. Throughout this whole, almost 2 hour, experience a manager walked by our table several times. I tried to make eye contact with him, but he avoided it. My hubby got up to use the restroom and on the way back stopped to talk to the manager and shared our extremely lackluster experience. His first question was how many people there were in our party. My hubby responded with 2. Then the manager asked if there was someplace we needed to be (i.e.--were we in a hurry?). After my husband said no the manager just said "sorry." Unbelievable! M We live in Vegas and I had hundreds of amazing restaurants I could have chosen for my birthday dinner and unfortunately I chose the CH. Honestly, I wish I had just gone home and opened up a can of chili and poured a glass of wine. It would have been a better meal and I wouldn't have had the feeling of utter disappointment, disrespect, and regrets over money wasted on a unexceptional meal. read more

Location: Golden Nugget Resort on Fremont Street. Near the pool, Shark Tank, and water slide. There is a large and tall fish tank right in the middle of the restaurant which sort of makes it feel like it is part of the pool and Shark Tank complex. But the tank belongs to the restaurant primarily and makes this connect like a seafood place should. A unique touch that is well done. Menu: Limited but primarily seafood menu. Although I selected a prime rib prix fixe dinner, my wife ordered blackened chilean sea bass. There were several basic fish choices with several preparations available plus a few add ons for those looking for an enhanced seafood experience. My wife went with a cup of Lobster Bisque. It was delicious and had pieces of fresh lobster added. Prime rib was perfect, Lobster Bisque was perfect and the Blackened Chilean Bass was uniquely perfect. The blackened seasoning was authentic and awesome. It has been years since I have experienced such a flawless seasoning. Deserts were 'meh'. Skip those all together. Seafood Focus: What I noticed was this. Seafood lover customers would spend quite a bit of time choosing the fish, preparation, side dishes, soup, and salad. The appetizers were a part of this. The blackened ahi was quite nice. The diners would choose a complex seafood meal far beyond the basic fish related items on the menu. Sort of customized seafood experience. White rice is available. Service: The waiter and waitresses were focused being personable and entertaining and delivered a high level of service. Even the manager would jump into action to help bring out the food when it was ready. Delivery trays with a tray stand were carried over the shoulder between the tables as the food was brought out. It takes a bit of practice to do this safely when it gets busy. All in all the food was 4.5 stars except for the limited mediocre desserts. Other than that these guys deserve 5 Stars. The blackened sea bass could be their Michelin star offering. read more

Good food and good service. The portion sizes are a little small given the price but it's more than enough to fill your stomach. We spent $200 for two people: 3 drinks (alcohol), 2 starters (soup or salad), 2 entrees and 2 mini desserts. Me and my husband had the "Chart Your Course" pre fixe menu for $70 each. Mine had clam chowder, glazed salmon with mashed potatoes and a mini lava cake for dessert. My husband had the caesar salad, shrimp pasta and mini lava cake. They also provide warm bread. The presentation was nice and everything was tasty; best salmon I've had in a while. The drinks were also good; I had the mango mojito and my husband had the pomegranate martini (x2). If we didn't have to drive ourselves home we would have had more. Clarissa, our server, was awesome. She explained the menu, went over the specials and made some recommendations. She was personable, professional and attentive; we never had to flag her down for anything. The restaurant itself was intimate, clean and nice. It has a really cool fish tank as a centerpiece. My only complaint, which I acknowledge is a personal issue, is the way they package leftovers. They take your plate into the kitchen and return with it in a Styrofoam container. I would prefer to "box" my own food or at least watch them do it at the table. This way I can ensure I get everything I want in the box. The fish tacos for lunch were good, but the real highlight was sitting close to the huge aquarium with those fish who have been there 14 years and watching the marine biologist/scuba diver clean and repair whatever they need in the tank. That was something I never get to see, and it was fascinating. Lucky for us, our waitress explained what was going on in the tank which helped alot. Yes, the food was good. The service was excellent. It was a good tasting plate, however I wish they didn't call it kimchi as I didn't taste any kimchi at all. I'm assuming it was in the red sauce but not nearly as distinct as it should be. I shit you not, the calamari tasted like Funyuns (which isn't a horrible thing) I've just had kimchi calamari that actually has kimchi flavor. Also ordered the prime rib sliders. Dems ok Fish tacos.... They aight Truffle fries..... they aight Seared ahi nacho. In my opinion, best app on their menu. Wasabi aioli was fire. Seasoning on the ahi was great. What a beautiful unicorn tang... Such pretty butterfly fishes... Those silver silver fish are schooling together... This was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had, despite mediocre food. Our server Donnie was a delight. He was sweet and charming. Did everything super efficient and took care of our every need. The restaurant is tastefully constructed with beautiful panels on the walls and glass sculptures in between booths. Of course, the highlight of the restaurant is the massive tropical aquarium in the center. It is packed with exotic fish from coral reefs around the world. Seeing it in person for the first time was jaw dropping and sitting in front of that massive display makes me giddy. Oh what big, colorful groupers they have! Food at every Landry's restaurant always tastes like it was premade in a kit. The fish tastes previously frozen, overly dry and tough. The prime rib tastes microwaved. Everything tastes fake. Our server seemed overly enthusiastic about the fried calamari, which tasted no different than the frozen calamari I buy from Costco. Bottom line, you don't come here for the food. Very basic. The filet was alright. Not memorable. Do not spend money on the lobster tail. Holy moly it was over cooked and over salted. For $95, I would expect a lobster tail to be perfect. I couldn't even finish it. The chocolate lava cake was over baked, no lava in the middle. They just pour sauce on top. This meal was $300 for two people (with cocktails) and it was nothing but a letdown. I wanted to say something but the server was so sweet. So we ate, paid our debt, and left. Wanted a nice dinner after a hectic day. The chart House looked good. It's a beautiful restaurant and when we were there, it didn't seem like we were in Las Vegas. The fish tank is beautiful! I had the perfect seat watching the fish glide through the water. Service is nice. They don't rush you and since we fin d with friends we really appreciated not being rushed. Expensive and surprisingly bland. Started with the clam chowder. The clams were rubbery with only small slivers of potato. A bit watery to call itself chowder. Bland. Ordered the coconut shrimp with fries entree. Barely any fries - I wish I had taken a picture. Imagine a toddler grabbing a handful if you will. That's how much you get. The shrimp didn't taste like coconut at all. Just boring and again, bland. Husband and I each got a bowl of the chowder and we split the entree - $60 for us. Excellent service by James! I had the New England clam chowder which was very hearty and delicious! Main course was ginger shoya scallop and shrimp. There were 4 large scallops and 4 medium shrimp. The sauce was excellent. The bottom of the dish was the rice and and vegetable ( I think baby bak Choi). I ordered the desert which you should order early because it takes half our to bake.
