I am in town from St Louis to visit my Dad, & a neighbor suggested eating at Chase's. Boy are we glad he did!! The BEST Swiss-Mushroom Burger I have EVER eaten!! A full half pound of delicious ground beef grilled 'medium' as I requested; it was SO juicy and tender...one bite, and it's obvious everything is homemade! My Dad had the Ground Steak, which was covered with grilled onions and sweet bell peppers, then smothered in delicious brown gravy. You better be hungry...this steak is a FULL POUND of yummy ground beef!! Our Server, Bekah, was really fun & friendly, making sure we had everything we needed, without hovering. Ordered the breakfast chicken fried steak and eggs, side of onion rings. Large platter of food! Steak was big, tender, and crunchy on the outside, in other words... perfect. Eggs cooked medium as requested. Hashbrowns were fine. Rye toast good. Minor issues, which will not prevent our return...iced tea was bad. Had that bitter taste. Waitress graciously removed. Finally went after wanting to try it for years (was never hungry when nearby, and never remembered until the other day). Have now gone 2x in 3 days. I was going to try something different the second time, but I HAD to get another monsoon burger. It is easily one of the best burgers I have ever had in my 50 years. My daughter had a plain burger the first time & chicken strips the second and was very happy about both. Considering those are pretty much the only 2 things she eats (even at 27 years), she's had a lot to compare to. The service was amazing both times & the restaurant is so clean it would be easy to believe it had just been redone last week. Prologue: My fiancée and I spent the day running errands and had missed breakfast and lunch. It was late afternoon by the time we had a chance to stop for something to eat. However, we were still in the mood for some good comfort food for breakfast and decided to give this place a try. The Plot: We shared two entrees, including a Veggie Omelette (with spinach and diced chicken added) and a Kelsey's Gotcha Covered Burger (half-pound burger topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, and a fried egg) with a side of Onion Rings. Our meal was concluded by sharing an order of Nancy's Bread Pudding (cinnamon and raisin). The Scene: This was a very nicely appointed retro diner with plenty of room to sit at the counter or at a booth. The place was clean and everything was in very good condition. The service was prompt, very friendly, and the prices were reasonable. The portion sizes were more than enough for the both of us to leave very satisfied. The burger I ordered now holds the coveted title of "The Best Breakfast Burger I've Ever Had." The burger itself was delicious; hearty, beefy, cooked a perfect medium, with great grilled flavor. On top of that was plenty of crispy bacon and a spot on, over easy egg. I was also pleasantly surprised how well the standard toppings (lettuce, tomato, and onion) complemented the fried egg. My only regret was that I didn't add hash browns. The batter friend onion rings were excellent; it definitely makes a difference when a side like this is prepared to order in house rather than serving something that was stored in the freezer. The omelette was well prepared with plenty of fresh veggies. The Rest of the Story: My fiancée would a have preferred her omelette to have been prepared with more eggs. The flavor of the bread pudding was very good, although it could have been a little moister. After spending my Saturday morning moving rocks onto my yard so the pesky HOA can stop whining about my grass not being up to their standards, my back felt stiff and there was no way I was going to make lunch. A quick Yelp search later and Chase's Diner popped up! Having seen this cute little diner multiple times, we figured it was a good day as any to give them a try. I wish I tried them out sooner! We ordered the Chicken Fried steak breakfast platter with over-easy eggs and rye bread and the Andre's Green Caliente with over-easy eggs and more rye. Everything came out hot and delicious! The chicken fried steak was more than generous in size. It had a thick crunchy exterior that didn't get soggy under all that creamy gravy and inside was a huge chunk of meat. It was hearty and filling. The Andre's Green Caliente definitely stole the show. That hot green pork chili... mmm! Put it on everything! I really enjoyed the skillet as it stayed hot and kept the cheese ooey and gooey. I hate it when cheesy dishes solidifies and gets rubbery when cold so I appreciated that the cheese stayed melty throughout the whole meal. The over-easy eggs came out perfect and you can't ever go wrong with rye bread. The damage was about $27, before tip, for two. Service was a little slow but friendly and the diner was nice and clean. I wanted to try this place after reading reviews and hearing others talk about it. I came here for dinner and the lady sat us down right by several other groups of people. I was annoyed that we were all grouped in the same area and so we asked our server if we could move so we could be a little further from the others. Our server was very accommodating and sweet. I ordered a chocolate shake and the country fried steak and my husband ordered a burger. My food was tasteless. I would describe it best by saying it tasted like nursing home food. My chocolate shake was not very good either. It tasted like a bunch of chocolate syrup mostly. My husband said his burger wasn't great either. I did like the vibe of this place though. So recently I had a massive craving for a open faced hot beef sandwich. I'm from the Midwest and I've been in Arizona for about 18 years. Generally I would find these small coffee shops and diners would have the best sandwich's around. I usually don't find these sandwiches on menus so I was poking around on the internet and I just googled hot beef sandwiches. I saw a picture of this amazing sandwich and I discovered Chase's Diner. My girlfriend lives only 10 minutes away from this location so we jumped in the car and headed there. Upon arrival I see 50's themed diner. I love these kind of places so I'm already intrigued. We step in and are greeted immediately by a friendly staff. Inside is a retro 50's diner done tastefully and done right complete with a counter and stools and booths. On the walls you will find some very cool music and movie memorabilia and it's an impressive collection. If you're interested in these types of things like me you should walk around the place and look at some of the things they have. Oh the food you ask. Well I'm happy to report that the food is absolutely fantastic. I got my open faced turkey sandwich with fries and covered in a turkey gravy. I'm in heaven and my girlfriend got an open faced chicken Parmesan sandwich. She commented on how fresh the chicken was. Bring your appetite because the portions are huge. We both had to box up half our meals. Our server Taylor was wonderful and very helpful in making suggestions on the menu. This place is a hidden gem in Chandler and I highly recommend you visit. Even a weekday special for $7.99 ($9 on weekends and holidays) - 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, choice of 2 bacon or 2 sausage (the links are the best). Service is always top notch. We have been going here for many years and there are still many of the original to us servers. And they are friendly. Andre the cook is excellent. The food is excellent. Their milkshakes are the best I've had in a long time. The diner and the rest rooms are clean and well-maintained. If you purchase one of their coffee cups and bring it in when you come, you only pay refill prices! On Sundays, the owner wanders around greeting customers and stops for a talk at your table. I have but ONE complaint/suggestion. In view of the valley's chronic water problem, I would prefer if a restaurant only served water when requested. I love spots like Chase's Diner. They have hearty, filling food with large portions at a fair price. The atmosphere is casual and an ode to the 50s era with shiny chrome and bright red accents and old school jukeboxes playing classic songs from the era. When I heard "Earth Angel" on the speakers I had visions of Marty McFly coming by strumming a guitar, then slowly fading away at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance! (Yes, I've seen that movie too many times) :) We stepped in and were greeted warmly by the host who seated us at a comfy booth. We browsed through the menu which has a wide selection of breakfasts, sandwiches, and dinner plates. I decided on the chicken green chile omelette and had some of the Buffalo chicken finger hoagie. The meals came out in a short amount of time and smelled wonderful. The chicken sandwich had a nice zesty taste to it and the meat was lightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was a nice colorful looking plate. The omelette looked like one hot mess but boy was it good. It had light, fluffy eggs, with breast meat chicken, tomato, and onion filling and a generous heaping of green chile pork with cheddar cheese on top. I loved the spiciness of the chile; it had a definite kick to it! The hash browns were nicely seasoned, perfectly griddled, and there was a fairly large stack of toast to go with my meal. Ok, so this morning I went to Chase's Diner with my wife and my In-laws. We came for breakfast because my Father-in-law heard about Chase's Diner in the news a couple months back and he wanted to go there. Which is saying a lot because they live near Anthem in the north valley. My wife ordered the 2 Eggs breakfast with hash browns and toast. She really liked it, it was a classic breakfast that they did really well. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. It was a really large meal. They Chicken was cooked perfectly and I appreciated that it seemed just as hot on the last bite as the first. The hash browns were amazing. This is in the classic 50's diner style. Our waitress was excellent but our visit was solely helped by her alone, a couple other waitresses made sure we were good every time they walked by. The visit was amazing. My family loves Chase's. We have been going there for years. They have a huge menu and almost everything that we have tried on it is is wonderful. The burger I got today was overcooked, I asked for medium, but it is still better than most burgers in the area. The onion rings are great, as usual. We tried quite a few places in Ahwatukee, Chandler, and Phoenix before deciding to try Chase's one Sunday morning. Thankfully, we are no longer looking for that go to diner now! My wife is a big fan of the Vegetable Omelet with Toast. Surprisingly, it was hard to find a diner in the area that offered this combo. So many places only offered an English Muffin. A few bites into her omelet and toast, I could tell she was hooked. I am a big fan of breakfast burritos and never would have expected Chase's to have the best one I've had in Arizona. Andre's Green Chile Burrito was massive and tasted delicious. Since having the Andre's Green Chile Burrito, I've tried two of their other breakfast burritos and enjoyed them almost as must as the first one! Chase's homemade ranch is also delicious to dip French Fries into. I have never heard my wife say she enjoys ranch until we tried Chase's. Some nights we do a carryout order of fries and ranch and enjoy it in the parking lot. read more

Chase's Diner made me a fast fan a couple of months ago when Mom was visiting and we stopped in for a quick dinner. The building and decor remind me of NY diners we grew up going to, the interior is clean and inviting, and service was friendly and on point. During our first visit, Mom and Scott chowed down on burgers they raved about, and I thoroughly enjoyed a tuna melt, taking half to-go. Food was cooked to order, delivered in a timely manner, generously portioned, and just as we'd requested. Couldn't ask for more. Last week, Mom asked to stop in for lunch, she, Scott, and our buddy all enjoyed burgers, and I gobbled up Brenda's bunless grilled chicken - with provolone and sautéed shrooms - with a side of tasty carrots. Our server was new and very good: I forget his name, but at 6'7" he would be hard to miss. We will for sure be back, this is a place Scott used to take his Mom to often, and it took a while after she passed away for him to be comfortable revisiting; I'm glad we did.
