After hearing tons about this place, I finally decided to try it. The food was alright. The scenery was cool. The cleanliness was there. If you're looking for a place to take the kids, this is it, hands down. If you're looking for an old fashioned diner, this is it. However, if you're looking for a new hip spot with unique dishes that stick out, you'll be disappointed. Came here to grab dinner since I live in the neighborhood and while the hamburger and onion rings were good. Yea service and interior were clean, professional and satisfactory. I just can't justify the insanely high prices. I mean a plain burger is the exact same cost as a brisket sandwich. How do you price a meat like brisket with some ground beef?!?! Then if you want something more then just a plain burger you're spending over $20 per person, it's just insanity to me for such an establishment. This place is still "A-OK". It won't blow you away, but the food is pretty good and the portions are adequate. The decor is cool with a lot of autographed memorabilia. We ordered the meatloaf sandwich, and a 1/2 sandwich and soup (turkey breast, and vegetable soup). I tried the soup and it was OK. It had a good amount of veggies in it, and was "hearty". Not some wimpy broth. I didn't try the turkey. Mine was the meatloaf sandwich. First, there was more meat present than in most of the hamburgers, and it cost less! The meatloaf itself was good. Not spectacular, but good. I had the side of fries, and they were "just fries". Hot, of the proper texture (light crunch; not too soft or too crispy), but no seasoning. Not even salt. My son and I visited Thursday night. It's near our home and we had a similar diner in our hometown, so we've been excited to try out this cute diner. We were greeted and seated right away. A nice young man took us to the table and brought us drinks. Our waitress was wonderful, so friendly and polite. She was actually excited to work at this establishment and loves the food. It was refreshing to have this level of great service. The menu is huge! So many options to try on future visits. We're looking forward to visiting for breakfast and bringing friends! I had the Dre melt with sweet potato fries. It was fabulous! I was able to get two meals from the generous serving. My son loved his bacon cheeseburger and fries, too. He took home a cinnamon roll for breakfast the next morning. There are tons of dessert options to try, as well. We'll definitely be back. The vintage decorations are fun. A few months ago we drove past this place and my husband was excited about finding a cool diner! He was even more excited to see it's called "chases diner" because his name is chase too haha. We came in today and we're really excited to try it. It's cool and retro in there. One complaint right off the bat though was that my husband said the bathrooms were disgusting and super dirty. I just decided to wait and not check out the women's restroom. Our service was pretty good, but food was ok. We started off with mozzarella sticks and though they were nice and crunchy on the outside, they were pretty bland. I got a veggie skillet no eggs with pancakes. Skillet was ok, liked the potatoes but the cheese wasn't very melted. Pancakes were pretty tasty. My husband got eggs, hash browns, and bacon. We ordered a double order of sausage and charged us for 2 double orders. The sausage Pattie's were clearly frozen hockey pucks. My boyfriend got the country fried steak and it was really tough. Hard to chew. Service could have been better. Slow on coffee refills and the server set the country fried steak right in front of my 8 month old. This place is quickly becoming our most visited restaurant. Love the 50's theme decor with modern flare and cleanliness. They are using all their booths;safely. They have plexiglass dividers. There has only been one waitress, in 4 visits that was less than Fantastic. The menu is extensive and you can even get breakfast items. So far my favorite item is the triple decker grilled cheese bacon and tomato sandwich on sour dough. So far, my least favorite item was the tuna melt. Weekdays are much less busy than weekends. You may have to wait a little while on the weekends but they turn the tables pretty quick. Everyone in there is hustling. On Sundays they post a random trivia question. I rediscovered this restaurant on Saturday. I used to live down the street and had gone regularly for brunch. I had moved further away and so unfortunately it fell off my radar. I was in the area around dinner time and stopped in. It was just as I remembered complete with the pie fridge by the diner counter. I did notice the table top jukeboxes were gone but that I can understand as even 10 years ago they were hit or miss. I was seated right away although the restaurant was packed. The waitress was super friendly and let me know the kitchen was a little behind because it was so busy. However I didn't feel I waited longer than normal at all. I had the chicken fried steak dinner with a baked potato. The meat was well seasoned and crispy. My only critique is that the gravy could have been hotter. My baked potato was fresh and came with generous portions of both butter and sour cream. I also had a bite of my friends pork cutlet sandwich . It was tender and not gristly as they sometimes can be. We just ate here, left a few minutes ago. It saddens me to have to bump this place down to 3 stars. This has been a regular place for us for a few years as our dog vet is across the street, so when we drop her off for her treatments for her illness every month, we come here to eat. Then I moved a strip of turkey and underneath was a long black hair wrapped around another strip of turkey. After I gagged and turned green, my husband got the waitress. First thing she said was "Well we're not responsible for what floats around in an unsecured area." It didn't "float" around as it was 2 layers down, with a layer of food on top of it, part of the hair tucked UNDER the meat. I tried to show her this and she cut me off with "I'm not going to argue this point with you, we aren't responsible for what's floating around outside. It can be anything." I pointed out I'm blond, my husband is bald, and our dog is a chihuahua with light tan, very short hair. We were the only people on the patio! So when she returned they so "generously" took off HALF of the price of my Chef's Salad. Three dinners (we bought a full kids meal for our dog, because they refused to just let us buy a bunless hamburger, leaving fries and a pickle to throw away). Such a waste of food, Well, we were fine with that, but I should not have to pay for a ruined salad, ruined appetite, and ruined the rest of the day! My friend was looking for a good diner restaurant in the Mesa area. She found this one. The service was good. However I'm giving it three stars for the food. I asked for a BLT with light mayo. Well, it has lots of bacon, was nicely toasted however instead of "light mayo." They had smothered it with extra mayonnaise. First time here. My wife had a fish sandwich, salad and onion rings. I had fried pigeon, I'm sorry, chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. Although the atmosphere was ok and service, acceptable, the fried chicken was a joke! I've seen more meat on a parakeet! The "leg" was about twice the size of a baby carrot, with the rest within those same proportions (small!). If you're looking for an authentic '50's diner experience and great food, I would not recommend this place. It was our first time eating here.. breakfast served all day.. but i was in the mood for a big diner dinner .. every plate we saw go by our table looked yummy.. I decided on the meatloaf platter with red skin mashed potatoes and brown gravy with a side of broccoli .. it was huge and just as expected My bf had some monster burger.. with a baked potatoes (weird I know.. he could have had apple sauce .. also on the list of side items).. the burgers here are huge .. his had bacon and a fried egg (he even got to ask for it to be cooked like he likes it.. fried but a little runny).. he enjoyed every bite of that burger! I took home a ginormous slice of carrot cake, moist and delicious.. each of the three layers has just enough cream cheese frosting so it's sweet but not too sweet .. I am in town from St Louis to visit my Dad, & a neighbor suggested eating at Chase's. Boy are we glad he did!! The BEST Swiss-Mushroom Burger I have EVER eaten!! A full half pound of delicious ground beef grilled 'medium' as I requested; it was SO juicy and tender...one bite, and it's obvious everything is homemade! My Dad had the Ground Steak, which was covered with grilled onions and sweet bell peppers, then smothered in delicious brown gravy. This was a nice find! Located not too far off the 101, this was the perfect place to meet my East Valley friend for brunch. The building is old timey diner and the inside decor is the same. It's so cute and different! Our server was very nice and helpful. She made sure we were cared for without being all over us. I ordered two scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links and 2 buttermilk pancakes. Absolutely delicious!! Everything was perfectly prepared and burst with flavor. My friend had the Reuben and fries and though I tend to order breakfast when given the opportunity, I will order the Reuben when I go back! She said it was really good and by the looks of it she wasn't lying! The meat looked tender and it was so cheesy. Yum! So recently I had a massive craving for a open faced hot beef sandwich. I'm from the Midwest and I've been in Arizona for about 18 years. Generally I would find these small coffee shops and diners would have the best sandwich's around. I usually don't find these sandwiches on menus so I was poking around on the internet and I just googled hot beef sandwiches. I saw a picture of this amazing sandwich and I discovered Chase's Diner. My girlfriend lives only 10 minutes away from this location so we jumped in the car and headed there. Upon arrival I see 50's themed diner. I love these kind of places so I'm already intrigued. We step in and are greeted immediately by a friendly staff. Inside is a retro 50's diner done tastefully and done right complete with a counter and stools and booths. On the walls you will find some very cool music and movie memorabilia and it's an impressive collection. If you're interested in these types of things like me you should walk around the place and look at some of the things they have. Oh the food you ask. Well I'm happy to report that the food is absolutely fantastic. I got my open faced turkey sandwich with fries and covered in a turkey gravy. I'm in heaven and my girlfriend got an open faced chicken Parmesan sandwich. She commented on how fresh the chicken was. Bring your appetite because the portions are huge. We both had to box up half our meals. Our server Taylor was wonderful and very helpful in making suggestions on the menu. This place is a hidden gem in Chandler and I highly recommend you visit.
