Overall good place to eat. Got the cheeseburger and fries for a late lunch. The addition of cheese and order of fries was extra, it was not included with the meal. Burger was perfect and tasty. Fries were delicious. Also ordered the trio of dessert sampler with chocolate cake, cheesecake, and key lime pie. It was super yummy and the perfect size to get a good taste but not feel stuffed. The restaurant was clean and the hostess was pleasant. It became obvious that the restaurant was understaffed. We waited about 15 minutes before our waitresses came to our table. She seemed overwhelmed . She explained she had been there all day ,and she was ready to go home. I thought to myself "We are starting off with negativity". She was the only waitress for our entire section. But we assured her it would be okay. It seemed like she needed a break. She then proceeded to tell me that she was not bringing any croissants out because they were horrible. The croissants were hard as rocks and everyone had returned them. We ordered dinner. I came for an early lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. I arrived at 11:30 to see folks parking in the parking lot but going to the door and then returning back to their cars. No notice or sign on the door stating they were closed or opening later. Many employees were standing in the back parking lot and on the side as if they were waiting on someone to show up. Went in on Easter Sunday for dinner. Looked like the pace took a major hit during lunch that day. A lot of trash and food under tables. Never can understand how people can be so messy. Staff was in clean up mode as we sat down. They were about half full for dinner. Our server told us right away what they were out of. Helpful and set our expectations. My wife had the Cajun pasta which she said was good. My son had the chicken alfredo which he said was so-so. I had spaghetti formed like lasagna with a good helping of meaty sauce. Different but really good. Serving sizes were a meal and a half. My leftover was better the next day. There are a lot of choices on the menu. Normally, a great place to get my Monte Cristo for takeout, but had a really unpleasant experience today with my friend. Our waitress served us food that was not at the right temperatures, ( warm salad, cold food that should have been hot, etc ) checked on us when we got our food delivered and to bring the check. When we said something about it, she asked if we would like to speak to the manager. After a while, he finally came over and said that 'we should have said something sooner' and he would do 'some adjusting'. He could clearly see our uneaten portions of food on our plates. We also never got offered a drink refill the whole time we were there, so I don't know when we would have said something about it since we did when we finally saw our waitress. And apparently this was an issue multiple people were having today as the table in front of us had their entire meal completely free because they made a scene. We did not do that or disrespect anyone, so we only received a 25% off adjustment of our bill when over half of the food was not even edible. Never again. Even when this "pandemic" is over. The menu is 1/4 of what it used to be and we were not notified of it otherwise I would not have waited the 20 plus minutes. We were told we could get drinks at the bar so we ordered cokes and sat outside where there were several open tables mind you. Then I got a text that our table was ready. The funny thing about it all was that the waiter stood literally a foot from us when he came up. All the showy to do about skipping tables and throw away menus and the people themselves aren't practicing social distancing. I don't know, but when we ordered, our waitress came back and asked us again what our sides were. Then she came back again 5 minutes later and said they were out of chicken pot pie. Then she came back AGAIN and asked what our sides were!! Needless to say, even after checking twice, the sides came out wrong. Drinks were wrong, food was wrong. Hey, WRITE IT DOWN!!! So, I'm guessing it was the waitress and not the kitchen. After an hour, we had to hunt down our waitress to ask for our food (we hadn't seen her in more than 30 minutes), and she of course blamed the kitchen. But when we got our food, it was obvious that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. Broccoli casserole was crusted over on top, the FRIED Monte Cristo sandwich was cold. Cold?? How can a FRIED sandwich be cold??? The steak was on a heated plate, so it was OK. When does this place's lease expire? That's the date they'll be out of business. It couldn't come soon enough. I've been there on 4 different occasions. Every time I go there my food comes out cold. The last time my fries was cold and my cheese bites was like rubber. All I ordered was appetizers. The food is decent. Some things better than others. But the service every time we go is slow as CHRISTMAS! The servers take your order, disappear, drop off your food, don't ask if you need anything else, run away for 30 mins (no refills, no asking if your food is ok, no checking to be sure you have everything) and then want to bring you your check. Decent food and fun but low-key atmosphere--but the extremely slow service (45 minutes for appetizers, 15 minutes for drinks and silverware) means Cheddars doesn't stand out in a town full of decent food. The fried food (onion rings, chicken fingers) are particularly good, and the bar has a gorgeous fish tank. If only they step up their speed, I'd be able to recommend it wholeheartedly. read more

Called ahead for a party of 20. We waited 45 minutes at 3:00 on a Sunday. We had NO problem waiting to be Sat, that was expected but......when we were seated they gave us one table of 10 and two 4 top booths. Our poor server had zero help. He didn't even have anyone checking on drinks, busting his tables, or running food. It took us 3 hours from the time we walked in until the time we left. Management was nowhere to be seen. In the midst of all this, our server got sat 6 more people at another table while he was waiting on us and they suffered due to the lack of support our waiter had. First of all I loved Cheddars! But our favorite was the spasagna...they quit having it. Ok I tried to find something else for me and my grandsons but we only came for the spasagna! So we ended up just eating appetizers and desserts. I ordered fried chicken, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet carrots and bread. Well, I got the delicious chicken pattie, ( the menu said fried chicken .... it implied fried chicken not a pattie), but it was good, as well as The bread, and gravy. I Did Not get mashed potatoes or broccoli casserole casserole . Gravy isn't good without the mashed potatoes. I got Mac/cheese which I DO NOT eat.. On this past Monday March 2nd, my daughter and I went to this new Cheddar's in our area for the very first time. It was surprisingly busy for an early Monday evening, and being as packed as it was, I was expecting some deliciously excellent food, but ended up being rather disappointed. After being seated, it took us approximately 40 minutes to get our food, and it really wasn't that big of a deal, because I know that they were very busy; however, I do not expect to recieve anything on my plate less than hot off the grill or out of the oven steaming hot. My undercooked fully loaded baked potato was barley warm, to the point where the butter, and cheese on top didn't even melt. Neither was my steak prepared medium well as requested. It was overcooked, and rather dry. So, I found the food subpar. I will give credit, where creidt is due, we did receive very friendly service from our server, but after alerting her to my disatisfaction for my food, I felt as if she could have done more to correct it, to include sending the manager by our table, which most restaurants will do upon a complaint. That never happened. Now would I ever return to Cheddar's? Based on this first experience, probably not. I don't spend my very hard earned money for subpar food or service. Someone like Chef Gordon Ramsay would rip this place apart. They need to get it together, and the staff definitely needs more training. read more

This is opening week for this restaurant. We had such a pleasurable experience the first time we went (I provided the first review for this restaurant on Yelp) that we decided to go again. Big mistake. We arrived shortly after 6 pm. I was told it would be approximately 45 minutes to get seated... and the lobby area was packed. I walked in the bar area and got very lucky... someone was getting up from the high tables (which are first come first serve) so we took that with no wait. The bus boy cleaned off the table immediately and said that someone would be at our table soon. The waitress showed up after about 10 minutes and asked us for our drink orders... and if we wanted any appetizers. Of course, we were not sure since we did not yet have a menu. We finally got our diet cokes.... and they were flat; no carbonation whatsoever. It took another 5 minutes to get our waitress back (she was overwhelmed by other tables) and let her know we needed replacement beverages. She apologized and went off. She returned with beverages and we placed our order. Our appetizer arrived and was hot and delicious (Texas Cheese Fries). All during the dining experience it took a long time to get beverage refills... and we go through our sodas pretty quickly. A different person brought our main dishes. There were problems with both dishes. I did not receive my side Caesar salad with my meal (as requested). Took another 10 minutes to get the salad. My partner did not get blue cheese dressing with his chicken tenders as requested. He had also not gotten his second side of sweet potato casserole which he wanted to try... and never received it during the entire meal. When I brought it to our waitress attention at the end of the dinner (after already telling the person who had brought our meals) she said "We are sorry; we are still working out the kinks... I will let the kitchen know). Was not quite the answer I would have expected.... perhaps offering to go get it for us to take it would have been an option. However, the food we did get was delicious. I again had the Monte Cristo sandwich and it is amazing.... will be hard pressed to get something different! The buffalo chicken tenders were perfect as was the chunky blue cheese dipping sauce. The quantity is definitely sharable. The restaurant is very popular as it just opened... and the staff cannot keep up with the customers. This was a truly disappointing experience. This was not a very good showing for this restaurant. Took almost 45 mins to be seated. While the whole time you can see a number of empty and clean tables. After we were seated our appetizers were ordered and came up really fast. 5 or 10 mins. We ordered our food and had to wait another 30+ mins. Once our food did show up one steak was cooked wrong. (Not the first time tonight. The table behind us had the same problem with a steak.) Our waitress didn't bring bring a salad that was ordered. When she did bring the salad after the main course was delievered, and after being reminded about it. She brought the wrong salad. Needless to say I think I'll keep going to the Gainesville cheadders from now own. read more

The food was absolutely amazing! There was a slow start at first but the manager herself came out to our table and apologized and took care of our cheese fries. We swallowed our food whole it was soooo good. I had ice water as did my boyfriend. It tasted great and not at all like pool treated water like most places. My mother had the sweet iced tea and she drank about four glasses in our visit. I loved the coleslaw and the cheese fries. It was just delicious. My mother and my boyfriend loved their dishes as well. Our waitress was super attentive and nice. Did an excellent job! We even loved another waiters attitude called Tay. He put the customers first and it made our experience much more enjoyable. Definitely worth every penny we spent here today. The wait in the beginning was the only downside but it was quickly resolved when the manager went above and behind and offered our cheese fries to be taken off the bill. They just opened recently today was my first visit. I sat at the bar and the service was fantastic. I had the grill chicken pasta. My food arrived quickly and good and hot. Of course being at that bar they've had a lot of people to wait own but they did not lack in service. This place is just not cutting it at this time. We have been here twice now. Both time was for lunch. Once during a weekday and once during a weekend. The problem is not the food but the service. The kitchen is just too slow. You cannot come here and get out it time. This weekend we had our order in by 1230 but did not get our food till 115. 3 hungry kids who ordered MAC and cheese, my wife ordered Chicken tenders and I had the fish tacos. Now I know they are busy but come on you can do better than this. The first lunch I had here was when they first opened up and I had to take my food to go as I was out of time for lunch by the time it came out. These guys are getting a lot of business regardless but they are in a highly competitive restaurant area and unless they can do a better job, they will likely not do well. read more

Me and my 2 best friends went here on Valentine's Day of 2022. It is our senior year of high school and we were trying to make some memories before we all leave for college at the end of the summer. When we had gotten here, there was a 45 minute wait at the time (as expected on a busy night) but we didn't mind waiting! When we were seated, we had the SWEETEST server! I can't remember her name, but credit to her! Well, something had happened with their system and our food wasn't uploaded to their system, and we probably waited about 30 minutes until our server had come to explain how their system had messed and how it didn't input our food into the system. One of the chefs had even came out to apologize for the mistake and they gave us a Free thing of Chips, Salsa, and Queso. We had already had some Croissants (which were AMAZING, and the first ones were on the house ) and a basket of Chips and Queso, so we were all already pretty full by the time our food finally came out. The food was still amazing and we all had a really good time! No complaints here, yea our food order got messed up but they sincerely apologize for the mixup and they made sure our food was top priority when they got it fixed and in the system! The best birthday day I have ever eaten. My salmon was succulent and juicy with the right hint of lemon. My broccoli was fres, omg those honey croissants will make you hurt yourself.
