When in doubt, I always go to Cheddar's. The Philly Cheesesteak is a plateful that makes you look like you don't know how to get it in the shoot, so that's a good choice. The Grilled Chicken and Pecan Salad is basically the size of the whole garden from which it came, so it's good for when you're hungry hungry but want to feel good about eating healthy. And a good alcoholic beverage on occasion isn't always a bad thing. I think it's called the Maui Margarita, but it's a good choice for when you're feeling celebratory. You walk out without a dent in your wallet and you're satisfied with what you got. The atmosphere is comfortable and you see an abundance of families and couples enjoying their evening. Haven't had a bad experience here so I recommend giving it a try on your next evening out on the town. read more

Went here after daughter's graduation at Austin Peay. Busy and crowded but service was adequate and food was hot and prepared and served correctly. Server was friendly and efficient. As opposed to other reviewer, I had no problem getting take-home boxes for leftovers. Food tasted good. Loved the Chicken Fingers (tenders?) that my daughter had, and I'm originally from Buffalo, NY so I have high standards for those! I'd definitely recommend those. I wasn't that hungry so had the potato soup (decent) and 1/2 club (decent). Nice to have a smaller menu offering for us older folks that aren't real hungry. (I just turned 50 so I can be an older folk now, right?) My experience wasn't spectacular nor horrid, it was good and as expected. Prices were standard, as expected. Went here yesterday 9/15/20 with the wife and kids. Both the boys got burgers that were very dry and like rubber, the buns were hard. Wife got a salad and the salmon. Her salmon came out before her salad did. Over all the food sucked. The server she was nice but had way to many tables. We still tipped her well because the foods not her problem. But she was so busy that I waited a good 20 minutes before I got a refill on my drink after asking. Probably won't go back. read more

Needless to say, there were 2 other people in the whole restaurant and I had to wait 45 minutes for my food. Got my salad after about half an hour and there was a roach in my bowl, asked to speak with management, they wanted to remake it, no thanks! So I just paid and left, the server helped herself to a 25% tip on my card even though I tipped her cash because it's not her fault that the kitchen can't get it together. We have visited Cheddars several times and it's always a good restaurant to go to because they have a good variety and it's good food at decent pricing For larger groups though we do carry out though, it just makes it less of a hassle, plus if you have more than six people you can't sit together at the restaurant In the past it was difficult to get the bar tender to even answer to take your carry out order and then when you went to pick it up they were rushing to get it all together, almost never went over the order with you, and you almost always got home missing something Well that has all changed. We ordered carry out yesterday for 7 of us. I called up and Amanda answers, takes the order, reads it back to us and says it will be 20 minutes. So we head out and get there on time to find Amanda there with our order ready to go. She took everything out and even had the containers numbered so you know what order item it went with... This was epic! Service was horrible and my dads steak was tough and he could only eat about half of it. Also his broccoli was cold. Used to always get good service and food here but obviously things have gone down hill. Also each time I ordered my Jack and water the glass was filled to various levels. Visited Wednesday Ordered sirloin and grilled shrimp. Steak was quite small with a decent amount of fat but tasted good. Grilled shrimp was good. Green beans were great. Ok... it is a chain eatery so you need to take that into account. But... arrived at 1:30, after the lunch rush but no one showed up to seat me. After a bit went into the bar and sat myself. It took at least 10 minutes for someone to come and take my drink order. (Mind you there were maybe 8 people in the bar). My waiter finally came and took my drink order...another 10 minutes to get my glass of wine. After about 15 minutes he came back to take my order...you get the idea. We just relocated to Jeffersonville, IN, and decided to visit Cheddars. There use to have one in Midland, TX and it closed down right before big Oil boom. On this visit my daughter and I arrived on a Tuesday, around 6:30 pm. The parking lot was full but the Hostess got us a table fast. We waited for about 7 minutes, then server, never got her name, was little overwhelmed it seemed, but got our drink order. We also tried to order appetizer but she walks away. It took 11 minutes to get a milk and Dr Pepper, she blamed that on having to go to bar for it. We then got our appetizer in and order our meals: Dinner included chicken strips for my daughter and Bacon cheeseburger with Jalapeños and fries. At this point out of drink, and she left to put orders in. She comes back greet a different table but no refill or stopping at her other two tables. She then brings the queso and I ask for refills. About 9 mins later someone brings our food and leaves. Server brings my Dr Pepper and says it be Bit on milk. At this point I am annoyed and ready go but wife text she wants food. I should just pick her up something else, but After 12 minutes she brings the ticket and togo food, but I try hand her credit card but she leaves. So we got food togo sitting around and she taking forever cash out. Was here week before and I think server names was Kyle he was great. Queso is always awesome. Btw, shrimp where terrible. Cheddars is one of those places that is always packed during the dinner hour, leading me to think that they must be serving something amazing, but they aren't. I've been several times and the food is always disappointing. The first time I went I had to send back the chicken tortilla soup because it had undercooked crunchy onions in it. Tonight my both my boyfriend and my fries were burnt and my chicken tenders had a strange, bland, breading that was chewy rather than crispy. I left most of the food on the plate because it was so unappetizing. The only positive I can muster is that the prices are fairly reasonable with a check for two usually running in the $20 range but really for chicken tenders that were worse than fast food that is still too much. read more

Disappointing. Ordered "ultimate nachos", they should be called loaded chips (12). These are not nachos, they are 12 chips on a plate with a spoon full of chicken and cheap cheese melted on them. Oh and a whole tablespoon of sour cream to ration out on your 12 chips. My entree was the Hawaiian salad with a croissant drenched in melted butter, yuck. My wife had a cheese burger, also drenched in butter. I guess they know how bad their food really tastes that butter is the cure all. I am giving 1 star due to the poor customer service I just received. I ordered steak and shrimp but meal was presented as steak and ribs. I asked the server to leave that and bring me a side order of shrimp so that I could eat with the rest of family. She advises me no she couldn't leave me ribs when I ordered shrimp also advised me that the ticket was correct. I was left sitting while the remainder of my family ate their food. She returned shortly with a plate of the same steak and potatoe still no shrimp had been moved to a new plate. So now I have no shrimp and food that has been touched again. When she finally returned with the shrimp it was cold. The steak was so tough it was barely eatable. Now comes the manager, very sure and apologetic then she begins to advise of why I had to wait because they are trained due to food alllergeries not to leave food not ordered. Ok I get that but I knew what was on the plate in addition to that why not train them to read the order before they bring it to you? I am so mad needless to say my family will never be returning because yes miss manager it is right now. Not everyone wants something for free but everyone wants to eat at the same time as their family. Very upset if no res ok resolution only empty apologies and poor management. read more

The food was hot and tasty, they have everything from steaks, seafood, pasta etc. Prices are good, and you get a lot of food! Cheddar's is dependable for a varied menu and good service. I ordered a cheeseburger and did not add a separate side. The burger came all by itself on a large plate. I've eaten here multiple times, at various times of the day. Service at the bar is best when the restaurant is very crowded. The fish tank is gorgous! I love cheddars in general, I usually am eating at either location in Louisville, but a friend and I decided to grab something to eat while in IN a little over an hour before close. I am a server too- so I understand that you start cleanup around this time but you still serve people.. We were prepared to put our food in at the bar as soon as we walked in. When the male bartender saw we walked in, he was furious. His only words to us were "I.d.'s???".. Treated us the worst I've ever been treated going out to eat anywhere. Little did he know he would have made great money off of TWO servers that he was serving. We heard him cuss and throw a tantrum around the corner that we had sat at his bar. The restaurant still had about 15 tables throughout so we didn't feel so bad coming in.. so when other servers in the place had to ring in alcoholic drinks he flipped again.. acting like he was so slammed and actually said "I don't have time for this".. we heard him walk around the corner after we asked for drinks and an Told him we were ready to put food in whenever he was and dropped the F bomb repeatedly.. he never even came back to take our food order! I took my father and grandmother here while I was in town. I haven't been to this place in many years. Our waiter was insanely nice and polite. Food was good but the only major downside was the crazy experience when the food took forever to come out. I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders, and they were ice cold. So I asked our waiter to send them back to be reheated. What happened next was bizarre to say the least. He said he needs to bring a manager over.. we wait 15 minutes...It wasn't like I was asking for a refund, just my food reheated? Finally a kitchen manager comes over and apologizes and says they were make me new ones, really quick. Then they bring over the restaurant manager, 5 minutes later, lol. So now we have two managers over here, when I am not even complaining? I think the poor guy didn't want to get in trouble, which wasn't even his fault. He ended up bringing me 4 coke zeros and apologized 15 times. I hope they can improve the service, those quick chicken tenders took another 10 minutes. I used to go here to eat pretty often with my family. The past two times have been pretty bad. The last time was roughly 2 months ago. We sat in the bar. We were 1 of 4 tables. We saw servers standing around, loudly chatting to each other. Even though we had been sat for 10 minutes the servers continued to stand around. After about two minutes of us staring at the group, one guy came over, he took our food order and completely forgot to take drink orders. I tried to speak up, but he walked off way too fast. He plugged in our order and then went and sat in a booth to talk to his colleagues again. So my husband went to the bar to get some waters. Needless to say, the rest of the 2 hour experience was about the same as it began. The food was 6/10. The last visit was this evening. I went in with my mother and sister. It wasn't too crowded, but we waited a while for a server to get our drink orders. When she came she asked if anyone had been with us, was soaked in sweat, and was mumbling her words. Service was very slow the rest of the time. Food came out ice cold. We all 3 tried to pick at it, but decided it wasn't worth it, so we got boxes and took our food home. But the best part of this story is as we were waiting for our food and munching on the appetizer (that finally came out) a waiter from another section literally hops in the booth behind us and moves the booth pushing my sister and I into the table...he then reaches over my sister to grab a bottle of A1. He doesn't ask or apologize for taking it, he just again hops out of the booth and walks across the restaurant. AND THEN 10 minutes later, walks by our table and says with a smirk, "Hope you didn't mind!" And just walked on. Probably won't be coming back here for a while. read more
