First time at this restaurant chain. Pleasant enough atmosphere, food was good. Had the Maui Chicken Salad. Had a frozen margarita with nutmeg (suggested by the very friendly waiter Dwight) instead of salt or sugar on rim. It's definitely an acquired taste. I enjoyed it tho :) Maybe my waiter was new, cause he forgot a couple things and had to be called back, loved how the waiters all work as a team. Honestly the worst service I ever just experienced. For there at 7:00, server didn't come even give us water until at least 45 minutes. Appetizers came out after a full hour there and all I ordered was chips & queso & onion rings. 2 hours later, no one has their food AND the server had an attitude at this point. Manager finally comes after 2.5 hours; doesn't offer anything but an explanation. We finally get our foods; orders are wrong.. had 4 year olds there who got their food last. And a pregnant woman still waiting. Hour 3 comes .. server hasn't came back to check on us. Had to track down someone to get the check. Everyone has an attitude. The food is soooo salty where it makes it inedible. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and the New Orleans pasta. Everything is so salty. The buffalo chicken wrap is a warmed up frozen chicken that is the. Wrapped with a tortilla and some sauce. No veggies and really nothing special that I couldn't buy from the store. Everybody knows I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants I like the independence and I like to spend my money with locals. However this week I found myself in a position where I wasn't feeling like traveling anywhere, so the cheddars across the street from my hotel would have to serve ice. I was most surprised at the quality of the food. Each night trytried something different from appetizers to salads as well as having the special of tenders and steak. When I asked the bartender if it was OK if they could grill the tenders rather than frying he said not a problem I have to be honest with you the food was fresh it was outstanding the service was great the margaritas were even better and overall I was very pleased with the choice. If you're looking for high-quality out of a chain I would definitely stop by this cheddars. read more

It was ok and the 4-Star review is based solely on the service. I used to frequent the cheddars in San Antonio quite often so I know it's not a company wide issue (service was superb). However, waitress seemed to be in a terrible mood the entire time. When she brought out appetizers she didn't bring plates so we ate them off of napkins. She only checked in once and wasn't even the once who delivered our entrees. Food was as expected (good) and I will definitely be returning hoping for better service. jugo provided bad customer service while we were dining at cheddars. He charged us for extra queso and chips then proceeded to bring a small sauce cup with queso in it even though we paid for it. He did not bring all of the items with the meal and we had to wait for them while our food was just sitting getting cold. the drinks we're not sweet at all and the cups we were given were dirty. We never got a chance to ask for anything because he would rush past our table and not even look our way multiple times. I used to love coming to this cheddars almost a decade ago. Most of the food items have stayed the same and they have also added new menu items. I don't let that deter me though because you will always get an affordable meal with pretty good variety of options. I came in yesterday for a late lunch early dinner with my boyfriend. There was a lot of families waiting but we typically request to sit at the bar or the table area near the bar. We got seated promptly and didn't have to wait, this was around 4:30 PM on a Sunday. I ordered the chicken tenders and shrimp ( I'd been wanting shrimp all weekend) I got mashed potatoes and gravy as well as broccoli mac and cheese casserole. My boyfriend got the mushroom Swiss burger with a loaded baked potato. The strips and shrimp are always consistent they have never changed the recipe. Our waitress may have been new but she did her best to bring everything we requested. We also had peach tea, mango tea, and raspberry tea + sprite for our beverages. I'm obsessed with their peach tea I can drink it daily. I don't work too far from here so I'll definitely be back! read more

We don't live in the area and we're second guessing coming here based off the reviews but we made reservations then got seated as soon as we got there and PATTY she was such a fast yet hospitable sever! I totally DO NOT recommend this place! I went there but had to end up leaving. You MUST read this review before deciding on going there. First of all, there was a really long waiting time. So we asked the receptionist to please let us see the menu while we were waiting. The time passed and she never provided is with the menu. Once we were seated, the table was really dirty. Where I sat, it was all wet and sticky. When my sister put her phone down on the table, it was full of sticky sauce. I'd drive to Cheddar's just for the Honey Butter Croissants (yummy!). I had lunch at this location, and the food was wonderful. I order the Spasanga, which has become one of my favorite dishes. It did not disappoint. I'd say my only complaint was the waitress. She was very nice, but I'm not exaggerating when I say she was at our table every 3-4 minutes. That quickly got annoying. She brought a new drink out to me maybe a minute or so after I had already gotten a drink. I guess she was bored? Regardless, the food was great, and I wish I was there dining alone so I could REALLY eat it lol :) but I had plenty to take home for dinner. The thing that cost them the 5th star is their customer service experience can either be excellent or horrible based on who your waiter/waitress is. Drove 25 min to the nearest cheddars. Menu: prices: wow. $5.95 for a huge glass of margarita. $4.95 for really big batch of onion rings for appetizer. My friends and I got an order of New Orleans pasta, tilapia with mango salsa and a burger. Result: Pasta was too salty. Tilapia was fishy. Yes, I know it's fish. But it was a sour type of fishy. I wasn't about to take my chance and get sick from seafood. Burger was okay. Not once did our server stopped by our table to ask how the service was. We asked for the floor manager and explained the situation. Wasn't trying to get anything comp but just wanted to share the experience. Anyways, the manager apologized and that's about it. I wish there was more to the story. Paying the tab: Total tab: $45. Payed $22 in cash and the rest on the card. The server Nick took the 22 and thought it was tips and split the tab in half. This place is really a hit or miss. One day you get great service, the other you get really crappy service. Okay, let's see. I've been to Cheddar's where I'd have to wait 30-40 minutes to get a table. This means they're super busy, right? But the funny thing is, I'd get great service. And I've been to Cheddar's when I get seated right away and then they'd give me crappy and slow service. What is up with that?? Don't get me wrong, the servers are always nice and courteous for as long as I can remember. But sometimes it seems like they would go back to the kitchen or whatever other tables that they are serving and then they would watch a full episode of how I met your mother before coming out again. The hostess took my name and phone number and said that they would call my name once my table was ready. After waiting for about 20 minutes for a table and as I stand feet from the hostess, a lady states she received a text and she should be seated. I let her know that I received the same message two minutes prior and they still sat her party before mine. This simply shows how disorganized this location is. Plus my steak which I ordered medium was brought to me as medium rare. Luckily for me they overcooked it anyway so it was cooked like I wanted. When I saw that the ratings for Cheddar's were so low I couldn't understand why! This used to be one of my reliable chain restaurants to visit mostly back in college, when I lived in Florida. The first thing I noticed when I got settled in my seat was how sticky the table was! I had to wipe my arms off up to my elbows in the restroom. It was only slightly less sticky after we had our waiter wipe down the table a second time. We ordered the spinach dip to share as an appetizer and I had the chicken and shrimp over rice with pineapple salsa on top and a side of their broccoli casserole - which I already knew I loved. All of my food was cold. The spinach dip was warm but everything from my main dish was at worst cold and at best, lukewarm. The broccoli cheese casserole had that dry look as though it'd been sitting out for a while. I honestly couldn't be bothered to send it back since I was in a bit of a rush and starving. All of my old favorites were a letdown tonight. It really hurts me to write this because I was running off of the nostalgia of how much I used to enjoy this restaurant just a few years ago. First timer at this cheddars, and I would like to start of by saying that my experience was ok, just hoped it could've been better. The food was good, but the service was lousy. A security guard took us to our table, and gave us our menu and told us our server would be with us soon. Anyways we had to wait for a long time to finally get a server, then a while longer to get our food & to get our check. And we honestly ordered everything all together since we were already waiting a long time. The section that we were in didn't seem that busy for a Saturday night, so I didn't understand all the delay. Anyways be ready to be waiting a while for everything, but the food wasn't bad which is why they get 2 stars. Plus even though the server wasn't on time, he was nice. Dine In Experience. We got sat down at 7:42pm and left at 9:37pm. From start to finish it was a BAD experience. We got seated at the farthest table the restaurant has from the main entrance where the door kept beeping. I guess because it was an exit door. The waitress took our order and it was downhill from there. Took about 10mins for the chips and queso to arrive. And then it took close to 30mins for our main course to be ready. The food was good, but the service ruined the visit. I don't know how Cheddars trains their employees, but I think some of them need to be better prepared, to handle busy weekends. Or at least give them backup assistance. I couldn't handle seeing my table so full of plates and cups that I started cleaning up myself. I thoroughly enjoyed grabbing lunch at Cheddars. i did not know that this place existed, and what a horribly deprived foodie life I've lived! Its decor is lovely - stone walls and wall lanterns, with faux flames line the seating area. In the middle is this amazing fan-like structure that I only noticed as I was leaving the restaurant. The greeters were very polite and so was my waiter. I was trying to be..ahem... healthy so I immediately ordered a strawberry swirl margarita and was not disappointed. It was not as strong as some places I've been to, but it was still a decently created drink. So for this healthy-ish lady, the carrots and broccoli sides were obviously my first choice but, I ordered a half rack of honey bbq ribs and grilled shrimp. The ribs were fantastic - that kind of melt off the bone, succulent, tasty, going-to-think-about-'em-whole-day kind of fantastic. I was impressed - so much so, at that moment, I mentally added this location to one of my go-to spots. The shrimp was spicy and well-flavored and they came with rice and peas which were also seasoned. Oh I almost forgot to mention, the carrots were so tasty! I ate them all before I even got to the meats lol. I think I stayed at this restaurant for about 3 hours *hides face* because after I finished the very large strawberry swirl margarita, I ordered the Maui margarita which also did not disappoint.
