We recently dined at Ruth's Chris and had a solid overall experience. The atmosphere is very mature and upscale, and they do enforce a dress code, which adds to the elevated dining feel. Our server, Jalen, was excellent--pleasant, attentive, and very on point throughout the meal. His service definitely stood out and made the experience smoother. We ordered the 3 for $60 meal, which was a good value. The salad and steak were both well-prepared and flavorful, and the brussels sprouts were also a highlight, definitely worth trying. Valet parking was convenient at $5, which was reasonable for the location. We had a reservation for 7pm. When we arrived we didn't realize valet was cash only so we had to find alternative parking in the garage next door. It is 2026 and a cash only valet is a bit ridiculous at this price point. We arrived at 7:03 due to finding another place to park. I know this because I was a bit worried about missing out reservation time. That said, when we checked in, there were quite a few people waiting. I even overheard the host calling folks who were more than 15 minutes late that their reservations were canceled. I confirmed my reservation 3 times prior to arrival and we weren't seated until we'll after 7:30. I find this to be absurd considering i confirmed 3 times and they do cancel late arrivals after 15 minutes. We also weren't seated in the main dining area, but in the over flow area. Like seriously! The service was not great. I heard the host state that our reservation was confirmed but several guests who arrived after us were seated first. Once seated our server began serving a table that was also seated after us. The manager checked on us a couple of times which was nice. Eventually I had to ask the manager for a second drink because our server would walk away before I could say anything. The steak was just okay. I did not like how our steak was cut. We have ordered large shareable steaks from other steakhouses before and the cuts at Ruth's Chris were like a Boy's Scout learning to cut wood. That said, the star (which is sad) was the sweet potato casserole. The steak lacked seasoning for sure. I guess that is why they have salt and pepper on the table. The ambiance in the overflow area was bad. The drapes were not fully connected at the ceiling, there was a TV mounted with exposed plug and wires hanging, and we could see the door to the parking garage. They also need to clean up the signage at the front. An empty sign holder is attached to the wall. There are taped signs on the window. Just simply tacky if you ask me. We came to celebrate a birthday party and had 7 people in our party. We came to Ruth's for a great dining experience and great food. For a Friday evening there wasn't much in guest in the restaurant. Upon sitting down we ordered drinks for the table. One of our guest got her drink, after some time has passed, we did not get our drinks about 35minutes after. Food was great and sides were portioned very nicely. Service was not great, sides were missing and we had to ask for multiple things that we had ordered. It felt like the waiter was waiting to get cut out and we were his last table.... Definitely didn't mind paying the hearty bill but service and food go hand and hand. read more

I visited last night with another couple for dinner. It is located in the Galleria area and they offer valet parking for $5 which is better than msot valet options in Houston. I read on previous reviews that there is free parking toward the back or next door but with the weather in the 30's by the tme we left that wasnt an option for us. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm and we arrived @ 7:15 pm. We checked in and waited and waited, finally after 35 minutes we were seated. Now granted the restaurant was busy but if we arrived 35 minutes after our reservation time, I'm sure there would have been a problem for us but.... that was the only negative. We both placed orders for a variety of menu items. First they brought out bread with butter which was excellent and we ordered several more times. My wife and I both had the Steak salad, the 6 oz. Filet & Shrimp and she had creamed spinach and I garlic mashed potatoes and we both had the cheesecake for dessert. Our guest both had the Caesar salad, Salmon & shrimp, creamed spinach and cheesecake for dessert. The food was excellent for us and our guest. Stefan was our waiter and he did a very good job. Really solid steak house! Went with a couple of friends to Ruth's Chris Steak House in Houston and was not disappointed. The restaurant itself is very spacious, we were seated almost immediately, which as nice. I ordered the mashed potatoes and a medium-rare steak w/ truffle. The mashed potatoes weren't as flavorful as I hoped for, but the steak was perfect. It was juicy and tender, while the truffle offered an amazing earthy, salty, savory profile. This was my first visit to Ruth's Chris and I had an okay experience. I came on a Saturday and my first mistake was not making a reservation prior to. I arrived at around 6 pm and was told by the host that there wouldn't be any tables till around 9 pm so I decided to sit at the bar. As a solo diner I never like to opt for the bar because of the social scene and towards the end of the night people were standing around me for drinks and it was starting to be overcrowded. I can say I had a great bartender who took care of me throughout the night. As for the food, I ordered the 3 for 60 and I got a caesar salad, salmon and shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and a chocolate cheesecake. The caesar salad was perfect. Fresh, crispy lettuce, perfect amount of dressing and lots of cheese. I wish I had some more of those delicious croutons on the salad. It was a generous portion of salad although the picture isn't doing it justice. As for the salmon and shrimp it was just okay. I wasn't asked how I wanted my salmon cooked and they cooked it well done. It wasn't extremely dry or anything, I just would've preferred medium well and for the salmon to be seasoned a little more. The shrimp were cooked nice and seasoned. What amplified the meal was the New Orleans barbecue butter. It gave the salmon and spinach a great flavor once poured on top. The garlic mashed potatoes were good, not great. They just tasted like your average mashed potatoes with butter. I honestly couldn't taste any garlic in them. As for the chocolate cheesecake, I took mine home and it was good. Overall, i'm not super impressed with Ruth's Chris but if I do dine again i'd try their famous stuffed chicken! I finally had a chance to check out Ruth Chris which I had heard so much about about. I came here for a dinner on a Friday night. I used valet for parking (I don't think they had any other parking option) and it was only $5. We had a reservation and waited less than 5 minutes for them to get the table ready. This was for my wife's birthday so it was nice they gave us a prime window view and placed birthday decor on the table. It didn't seem too busy when we arrived, but many more people came after us. It took a slight bit of time before our waiter attended to us, but it was nothing to get upset about. To start we had their bread (complimentary) and spicy shrimp. I was impressed the bread was soft and also free (I'm used to harder bread that's not free at other fine dining places) so that was a plus. The shrimp was great, maybe the best item we ate all night. Before my entree I had a side caesar salad which was decent. For drinks, I went with a blackberry sidecar and that was really good! I'll also note their water tastes refreshing and filtered so no need to get sparkling. For my entree I went with the 11 ounce filet medium well and they cooked it to perfection! Alongside the filet was Mac and cheese (without lobster) which was great as well and then creamed spinach which was easily the most disappointing item of the night. Their creamed spinach is one of their "highlighted" items on their menu and I have read reviews that it was good, but it just wasn't tasty at all and maybe even a little bitter. I was really looking forward to it so I definitely have to knock some points off due to that. However, all in all, this was a very pleasant experience. They even offered a free bread pudding for my wife for her birthday. Prices are what you'd expect for a fine dining steakhouse, but not anything absurd. I really enjoyed my steak and dessert again here this Monday. My NY Strip cooked rare and Chocolate Sin Cake were both so delicious, good quality, very rich, very well made, contained good density and packed with deep flavors. My steak was very generous in seasoning and richness from the fat on it, not just the tasty melted butter, but balanced with hearty beefiness too. It has a loud flavor to it, not so fatty like a ribeye and obviously not too lean either. It was kind of firm with a very good crust and still easy to cut. Not mushy and not sinewy either. The coolness in the deep blueish red inside is such a nice contrast to the warm, hot top imo. I don't have much of an opinion on plain bread, but they always have either a very fresh baguette or sourdough given this time, which are great. Either homemade or from a good bakery. For dessert; it's chocolate sin cake or bread pudding here for me, bc they're both excellent. The sin cake is like a deep, dark fudge without too much sweetness and a supple amount of butter in it. It's scrumptious as can be and that tasty raspberry sauce n strawberry are nice add-ons to it. Very good, welcoming, friendly, efficient service again. I ate here one evening while traveling for work. I was in a mood for steak so why not have it on a plate with boiling butter? I arrived to a mostly empty restaurant without a reservation and was promptly seated. I was greeted by Gabby who was also the bartender. I was served some bread and whipped butter while reviewing the menu. I decided on the prime ribeye with the bleu cheese topping with a lobster tail, au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach. I could hear the food coming with that boiling butter. The presentation looked great. The lobster tail was great, the au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach were OK and the steak was a disappointment. That ribeye was the toughest that I had eaten in a few years. It is supposed to be prime steak so I'm not sure why is was so tough to cut through and chew. It had the right shape but was tough like a sirloin. I also had the bread pudding for dessert which I forgot to take a photo of. The location was good, the service provided by Gabby was great, polite staff, good food presentation but that steak was subpar and didn't complain about it. My wife and I booked this restaurant for anniversary. At first, we were pleased when we arrived. There's a nice welcome note on our table wishing us a happy anniversary and some very nice confetti decorations on the table and a complementary glass of champagne. However, after that everything went downhill...... I've always been a huge fan of the Ruth Chris steakhouse! Always enjoyed the experience of that sizzle on the stake as it comes out delivered by your waiter. The great sides and the atmosphere.. Unfortunately, the only part of the meal that was good was a steak, however, it was not delivered sizzling on the plate in front of me by my waiter. It was delivered by an assistant to the waiter. The au gratin potatoes had absolutely no flavor to them, the cream spinach was more cream than spinach, and that also had very little flavor to it.. The restaurant posted a sign at the hostess table, warning people the proper attire is required. no sweatpants no T-shirts no baggy pants hanging down unfortunately they were not enforcing their own rules as I looked around the room. I saw a man in jeans with his underwear, sticking out prominently as a show of his fashion. I also saw a woman with her belly button sticking out many people were dressed in jeans and T-shirts, and it was not the ambience that we've come to no other Kris. Great service and menu for a meeting. Have been here several times for meetings. Love that you walk through a maze of hallways to get to a fairly secluded private dining space. The room is perfect and quiet with a large screen TV. No microphone, but still easy to hear a speaker clearly. Dinners have been consistently delicious. The seared ahi tuna with ginger, cucumbers, peppers and red oinions served family style is the perfect starter. The tuna is so good. The Parmesan croutons on the steakhouse salad are a bit addictive. The king salmon fillet served on sautéed spinach is predictably tasty. Served with sides of mashed potatoes and broccoli, it is a great choice for a meeting. My colleagues enjoyed their surf and turf. A 11 ounce fillet with a lobster tail. No one left this meal hungry. The entire meeting took their chocolate sin cake to go! Parking is available by valet for $5 or in a nearby lot. Location near the Galleria is very convenient. Love the Blue Dog paintings by George Rodrigue from New Orleans. The experience normally would have been rated 4 stars, but the level of service and attention to detail by Lateefah enhanced the dining experience immensely! This particular dining experience was for a birthday and the table we were seated at had a myriad of celebratory words scattered on top which the prismatic colors dancing against the glasses and plates. I am particular before trying calamari at restaurants because I prefer a very good crust and the finish not to be overcooked (rubbery) or undercooked (too soft) and there calamari was perfectly cooked and seasoned. If you have dined at Ruth's Chris then you know the appetizers and sides are huge so order accordingly. I thought the day was going to go sideways because Lateefah (our server) informed me that they were out of Ribeye at the moment due to a logistical issue so (jokingly) I told here it was going to be an easy order for me then just an appetizer of Lump Crab cake, brussels sprout, a glass of wine and dessert. She vehemently apologized, told me she could select a steak that was on par if not better than the ribeye and if I did not like the steak then she would pay for my steak personally. Challenge accepted, I took her suggestion of a New York Strip with truffle sauce (Med-well). Dish came out and was presented, Lateefah was observing from a couple of tables away while I took my first bite (piece of steak no sauce)...then my next bite (steak with a bit of truffle sauce)..OMG, she must have saw my expression because she returned to our table and asked what I thought which I told her even though the NY Strip does not have the marbling of the ribeye it was so very close, but (dramatic pause) she was right. She exhaled and stated jokingly, "Whew, I really did not want to pay for that steak!" We all had a good laugh and conversation about her time working at Ruth's Chris. I could tell she very much enjoyed interacting with customers and the work atmosphere of Ruth's Chris. After dining and desert, she offered us the opportunity to view the private dining room upstairs and presented us with information and pricing. Happy 44th birthday to me!!! I enjoy the stuffed chicken, although I couldn't finish it and had to share it with my guest. The mashed potatoes were pretty good and the Ruth's Manhattan was super strong. I couldn't quite finish the drink, but overall, I would love to go there again and get something on the happy hour menu as the prices are cheaper than the actual steak dinners. You do have to either have cash for the valet parking or you can use the parking to the side which you will be able to use your credit card to pay for I think 4 to 5 dollars for the parking so keep that in mind, I did celebrate my birthday, so it's probably best to reserve before going so they can put a birthday card on your table and make it look pretty with confetti and stuff like that. I think I caught them off guard when I just pulled up without the reservation for the birthday, next time I know to do a reservation so they can have everything set up all pretty. Also, if you're ordering from the happy hour menu between 4 to 6, you can only sit on the side with the bartender versus the other side with the very pretty elegant colors like tan and cream. That side was so upscale looking and I wish I hadn't ordered from the happy hour menu because they made me and my guest go sit on the other side to order that. Had dinner here this evening with colleagues for an end-of-year team event. We sat in a very nice private dining room and had a fantastic server who took wonderful care of us. He was attentive and very friendly. The restaurant itself is lovely, as well. Whenever I go to a Ruth's, I get a lobster bisque and Ruth's chopped salad for my dinner. I found this batch of soup to be a tad overpowered by the sherry or brandy flavor. I wish it was a bit more lobster forward. The salad was delicious, as always. If I had one small complaint it would be that they were a bit heavy handed with the blue cheese and the bacon chunks were quite large. Usually, I don't notice them. All in all, a very nice dinner. Had the pleasure of going to Ruth Chris for a friend's birthday. Got here around 830pm on a Friday night. Great place and very romantic vibes. The music selection that played amongst the restaurant was a soothing choice. The Playlist consisted of sade, usher, Tamia and some other older r&b artist. Our table consisted of 5 people total . When seated a lady came and poured our waters and then a guy came and brought warm bread out for us as we waited on our waiter . While waiting,about 20 minutes our waiter came and our order was received and than placed . This was for cocktails and drinks only. While waiting 30 minutes our drinks finally came and then our our was taken for our food. The drinks tasted really good as the blackberry sidecar is the strongest on the menu. After taking our food order , 2 people ordered steak , I ordered stuff chicken, crab cake and creamed spinach, other 2 people ordered fish. .. our food took about 40 minutes to come out. The chicken was very delicious as this is one of the popular menu items . The crab cakes were very tasty and flavorful. Spinach tastes like a garden mixed in cream I didnt like it. The other guest advise their food was good. We finished our food around 10:20pm . We chatted for a bit as we had another destination to attend . But as we noticed time went by the waiter never came to check on us . We had to ask servers for the waiter so that we can order dessert but instead another waiter took our order. Hubby and I came to celebrate our anniversary and I came with very low expectations because we've gone to fancy/expensive restaurants in the past and been very disappointed in the taste and quality of our food. Tonight was not one of those nights. Ruth's Chris is first and foremost a steak house. If you want other options, they have them, but where they shine is their steaks. It's in the name for a reason. We were greeted by a friendly staff and seated almost immediately. We had a reservation for our anniversary and they gave us an anniversary card once we were seated. They weren't busy when we got there at 6:15PM, but quickly started getting busy and had a wait when we left about 2 hours later. Our waitress was pretty soft spoken and was a little hard to hear at times, but it wasn't an issue. I just had to get her to repeat herself a couple times. She was very friendly and attentive, but she wasn't hovering. 10/10 service! The restaurant has low lighting and at 7:00 PM the lights got even dimmer. Not a problem for us, but there was a table off to the side of us with some slightly older folks using their phone lights to see the menu. So plan accordingly. The restaurant was clean and the restrooms were as well. Both my husband and I paid a visit and he said the men's room was also clean. Now for the food... we started with the Goat Cheese & Artichoke Dip. It was delicious and I'd definitely get it again. I'd also like to try the crab cakes in the future though. For dinner, my husband got the T-Bone Steak and I had the Petite Filet with Shrimp with the Lobster Mac side to share. The first thing that arrives at your table is the smell of your food, and let me tell you, if you could bottle that smell, people would buy it. Then you see your sizzling steak each served on a 500° plate. Literally. DON'T TOUCH IT! The steaks are so tender and juicy. They asked us to cut into them to make sure they were properly cooked before walking away. The Lobster Mac was creamy and delicious. The lobster was tender and juicy. After we finished eating, our waitress boxed up our food table-side and put it in bags for us. A little bit later our Bread Pudding arrived. Now let me tell you something... I am a bread pudding connoisseur. I KNOW good bread pudding. I have reviews upon reviews containing bread pudding. So when I give you my bread pudding opinion, you can trust it. This bread pudding was GOOD! Was it the absolute best I've ever had? Maybe not, but it was definitely up there in rank. I would 100% get it again. Just a heads up though, it has raisins in it. If you're not a fan of raisins then maybe don't get this. You could probably pick them out though. TL:DR, Great food, excellent service, clean establishment, free valet parking - don't forget to tip. I'm not at a loss for words here, I'm at a loss for which words and in which order. Ruth's Chris held an idea in my mind as being of a caliber of steakhouse that is respectable. I had my first visit here with another couple in an attempt to see if they could live up to a reputation they established at some point; we left highly disappointed. We had a preexisting reservation for a Saturday night that was honored by the host and we sat relatively quickly. It's a traditional dimly lit "high end" restaurant with no defining architecture or style. Private party near by was loudly cheering about something from the large group area, I would've shut the door if I was managing that night. Our waitress was attentive and prompt on a night in which she was training, I guess she was new but I wouldn't have been able to tell. The food was passable, and it's generous to say that with the price. Both couples order the Porterhouse steak medium rare+. Both came out at the correct temp, but for some reason they are served on a scalding hot plate prepared with butter. The steaks are instantly sent into the overdone range as soon as they sit in this plate for more than a couple seconds. To be fair, the servers warned us to be cautious with these plates, but not that we should change the order of the temp to account for this amount of heat being added after the fact. The steaks themselves taste fine, we were told that the meat is "heavily seasoned" but I would let have been a ale to tell. Seems like it was just some salt and pepper in a reasonable proportion. The sirloin from both porterhouses was chewy; near the point of overexertion in chewing. The filet from the porterhouse was passable. The sides were Brussel sprouts and sweet potato casserole. The sprouts were uninspired, cooked with some bacon and butter; not over cooked thankfully. The sweet potato casserole was dessert level of sweetness. It was nice because I have a sweet tooth, but between 4 adults there's no way we came close to finishing this because of the sugar level. We ordered some drinks. They were extra sweet as well. I can't remember what my friend ordered, but it was red and coated in sugar, and it tasted like koolaid. I order a blueberry mojito that could've done with going through a strainer at least once. I was basically drinking a blueberry through a straw. They served bread with the table. Don't bother. It's just boring white bread with boring whipped butter. Empty calories that you barely even enjoy eating. Just go steal some bread from Truluck's across the street, that stuff is addictive. American steakhouses are meant to be a celebration of decadence and abundance. This is neither. Poor quality food and from a poor quality restaurant. I was blown away by my dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Parking was relatively easy with a paid parking garage next door and optional valet service. We were seated immediately on a Friday night since we had a reservation. It is a high class space with a romantic atmosphere. I spied a special on the menu with a starter, entree and personal side, and dessert. The bread, caesar salad, filet, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake were all very tasty. The bread was soft and served with butter. The filet melted in my mouth. We will definitely be back as there wasn't anything to complain about with this experience. read more

Went here on a double date on Saturday night. Located in the uptown/Galleria area. Upon getting there, we tried to find parking briefly albeit unsuccessfully. There is a valet option which we took; it's quite interesting for a "high end" restaurant to not have a complimentary valet option. This one was set at a very odd $3 valet charge so you better have cash ready... not a great start. Personally I think most spots in Houston should have some kind of parking available to the diner. Interior reminds me of a Capitol Grille or a Texas De Brazil. We ordered pomegranate martini drink after they started us off with some bread. The bread; not great, pretty bland in terms of complimentary bread at steakhouses. The martini was one of the most disappointing drinks at a whopping $16. Too sweet, no flavor, and no liquor taste in there, 1/5 for that. My date as equally disappointed in the drink so we didn't go for another drink after that. Service was fine for our table. We ordered a porterhouse for two requested for medium rare. The filet was cooked decently but the strip was though and over cooked. They had this weird steaming hot plate with a bunch of melted butter and seasoning on it. I've never seen it but I'm not a fan. Season the steak as needed while cooking it and serve it on a clean plate is my preference. The steaming hot plate pretty much continues cooking your meat while making it overly buttery. Meat quality is pretty meh for a $119 porterhouse and you expect much better than what you can cook at home with a USDA prime cut. Overall, my impressions is that out of all of the higher end steakhouses in Houston, this is the weakest link. For the same price point, you will find a better steak at most of its peers, if not a vast majority. With a chain restaurant, you would think there's consistency in being high end, like Del Frisco or Capitol Grille, but it's not there. The value and ambiance is not there with Ruth Chris. My first time at Ruth's Chris and it was for a Saturday afternoon birthday dinner for a family member. Running late, I decided to opt for the $3 valet which is very prompt, friendly, and attentive. Entering the restaurant, even in the afternoon on a sunny day is quite dark. The hallways are quite maze like as well if you are going to a private dining room. It was great that I was led to the private room because silly me, I am directional challenged; I will end up in the kitchen if you don't watch me! In any case, the private room was quite spacious and simply decorated. A few tables to place gifts and a cake were available for the occasion, but the air in the room was barely on. Very stuffy throughout the 2 plus hours I attended. I thought it was just me...turned out I was not the only one feeling the lack of air circulation. I was asked to sit at a certain table to my luck was wobbly. Servers did their best to accommodate the 20 plus guests at the party. We weren't much of a hassle- a few drinks orders here and there. They did take cards for non hosted items, but I just cashed out my one drink I had and called it a day. I would suggest the raspberry cosmo for sure. Very fragrant and low on the cal count (170 calories). Plus it was heavy on the liquor. Sip slow! The private dining menu had several options for the main entree. I decided to go for the gusto and order the New York Strip medium well. Coming out the kitchen sizzling at 500 Farenheit, your first cut into the steak may make you question if it's medium well,but trust me- let that steak sit for a few minutes because 1) it's too hot to eat, and 2) by the time you give it some rest, it'll be at medium well! Steak was absolutely tender and not seasoned too heavily. I did use Heinz 57 sauce because it did need just a little more seasoning for my taste. However, I did not need to drench my steak with sauce to get that extra boost of flavor. The family sides were quite a nice balance to the steak with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Not too heavy to make you go into a food coma- that occurs from the cheesecake that they bring packaged to you for home devouring. The next day, that cheesecake was so good covered with fresh berries (removed the blueberries since I'm not a fan), but the cheesecake was so light and creamy- I could have had another portion for sure! Overall, I would venture to come to this restautant again although the private dining room does not have a view to rave about (faces a garage) but it's spacious, provides resources to entertain (TV for presentation), and provides a vast dining menu. We went to Ruth Chris Steakhouse for our birthdays on Saturday night. We were disappointed to find out that Corporate took off the bone-in-filet. We drove from Austin to Houston, Tx so we could enjoy the filet. The bone-in-filet was the best steak on the menu. Just don't bother. If you want a sub par restaurant experience, go ahead, otherwise save your money. It is important to note, as far as "fancy" restaurants in Houston go, Grace's is the benchmark. If you can't meet or exceed what they do there, you're not worth anyone's time. To start off, Ruth's Chris Steak House isn't gross, it's just not worth your time. We arrived at 5:30 to a practically empty restaurant and somehow had to still wait for everything service wise. Additionally, our server had a notable body odder that was not pleasant. The menu was poorly organized and convoluted. I would give details but I can't be bothered for this place, just know it was shitty. You would think a "steak house" would properly cook their steaks but they can't even do that. My party consisted 3 people, who all ordering their steaks medium rare, with not a single one having an ounce of pink in its coloring. My mash potatoes were cold. The desert was cheesecake that tasted freezer burnt, and you could the fruit that was served along side it was thawed from frozen. The ambiance was just okay, I don't care to say why, it's not good enough to make me tell anyone to come here. Want bad service with a poorly cooked steak lathered in butter to try and cover it up for 100$ a person, be my guest. That's a joke, and so is this restaurant. read more

It has been a long while since I visited Ruth's Chris. The fond memories of perfectly prepared steak on a hot plate reminded me to return more frequently. Service for our large party was excellent, the food as good as ever. I preferred the "small filet" which I'd still half pound of tenderness! Shared spinach was uneventful but baked potatoes was nice. Ruth, Chrys has been one of my favorite restaurants since my college days. In recent years, the quality of taste has been subpar, and other steakhouses like Maestros & Steak 48 were better. I must say this past visit to the RuthChris on Westheimer was a welcomed blast from the past in terms of taste. The service at RuthChris has always been good, & the vibe is laid-back and relaxed, just like I like it. The waiter was a true wine connoisseur who had great recommendations for almost every cut of steak. I only wish Ruth Chris had a bigger selection of Pinot Noir from around the world and not just the two. The mac & cheese was seasoned to perfection, and so was the cream spinach. My server was Tim and he should be the poster icon for quality customer service. First Time dining at Ruth Chris and he explained the menu to perfection. He even shared his own recommendations. I enjoyed the food. I made a reservation on open table. I called multiple times to get an idea of the restaurant. However nobody answered. So I can only give this 4 stars. I love a great Ruth's Chris date, anywhere in these United States! As it's an old faithful, I've been to several locations and if you've had a solid experience, then you know the quality, consistency, and the standard that's been set. The HTX location was no exception, and firing on all cylinders. Most importantly, I'm here to to talk about NATE and his extraordinary service at the bar! The hubs and I have been to this location a few times, and have enjoyed it. It's crazy that I'd yet to review until now, but our experience here with Nate has moved me to chorus. We stopped in for happy hour and had such a good time that we'll be adding this stop to our weekly plans for sure. Nate was a gracious host from start to finish with a great sense of humor, our order was executed perfectly, and the attention to detail knew no bounds. The filet & Rosè , potatoes au gratin, spicy shrimp, the prime burger, pomegranate martini(s), the Manhattan, creme brûlée-- ALL freakin' fantastic! What started as a mere happy hour, turned into a $150 tab that we were more than happy to pay as it was worth every single penny and then some. Main dining Unfortunately very disappointing. Reception greeting was lack luster at best. Service was delivered with good intent but it was slow. The food was NOT worth it. I didn't take pictures- nothing was that motivating. What we ate: Caesar salad. Lobster Bisque petite filet, bone in ribeye, potatoes, Brussel sprouts, crème brûlée and coffee.
