I'm visiting from Chicago and this restaurant was recommended to me. I order the cheese bites appetizer. They were salty and the oil they were fried in was old. We also ordered the New Orleans pasta and the Cesar chicken wrap. Pasta was bland and the sausage in the pasta was horrible. Cheddars is a good solid three stars, but remember three stars is it bad it's just average. Unfortunately we don't have a .5 because I probably give them a 3.5 so however I digress. You got your pros and your cons. The pros are my kids like cheddars. The prices are very competitive. The food is consistent. Now I thing is it's kind of average some things are good somethings not so goo If I were opening a restaurant and I was going to be bold enough to offer a Montecristo after it being a legendary Bennigan's sandwich, I'd make sure that I was serving of one heck of a Montecristo sandwich and that it had the really good raspberry preserves not just raspberry sauce. I'm not some Bennigan's freak it is just a monte Christo hater because Bennigan's is close... But I do consider myself somewhat of a Montecristo expert. I don't really know if that's something to be proud of but I'll have to ask my doctor and get my cholesterol checked to see ha ha. I tried money Christo several times once it was outstanding, once it was disgusting and hardly cook and the third time it was just a man yeah no so-so. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment for orient three times anyway. They do offer an interesting bunch of sides that you don't see and get a chain restaurants they haveBroccoli casserole, very rich and spice sort of earthy mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, french fries get the idea. Cheddars claims to be a scratch kitchen, it I don't know how much I believe that 100% with prices so cheap. The croissants are good but you have to buy the "bread" for the table. Some dishes are better than others. Like I said the sides are pretty solid so you can go in and give the simple solution---side sampler you where they can pick from dishes and get a feast of the most fattening stuff ;-) It's worth giving a try being on semoran near the airport where choices are somewhat minimal. My table ordered the chips with queso (added beef for no additional charge) as well as the honey butter croissants. Both were delicious and the entire table enjoyed. My meal was the half rack of ribs with grilled shrimp combo. It came w rice plus two additional sides for $14.50. You get a lot of food for the price. Everything was good but not great. Ribs were a little dry for my taste (good flavor, just on the drier side) so I brought most of them home. My table stayed a while chatting and not once did they try to rush us out even though the restaurant was crazy busy with people waiting outside. So, I rounded up for the staff being friendly and courteous. Overall, if you're looking for a lot of good food for a reasonable price, cheddars always hits the spot! read more

I came here on Saturday evening with my girls for dinner. We were greeted very promptly by our waiter, Chris. Before I proceed, I must say Chris is one of the best waiters that I've ever had in my times of going to restaurants. He is hilarious, and makes you feel very comfortable especially when ordering your meal. We were starving so decided to order chips and queso as our appetizer. The serving size was enough for the three of us, and before we were finished, Chris came and brought us more chips. We also got this amazing frozen drink. I think it was called Texas strawberry swirl..... (I stand corrected) And boy oh boy was it HUGE!! Dinner came in about 15 minutes later. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. And Chris warned me about the portion size. He said I'll have your carry out box waiting for you cause you're gonna need it. When it arrived I was stunned at the size !! The food was amazing! Probably one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. Many open tables but was told we had to wait 10 mins. Then once we finally sat down and asked for a booster seat for our 3 year old it came about another 10 minutes later. While we were sitting and waiting, we witnessed 3 different tables, that sat in the same section well after we arrived get served before a waiter/waitress even attempted to look in our direction. After the 4th table was sat down and waited on before us, we finally decided to get up and leave. On our way out we talked to one of the managers and told him about what happened and he acted like he didn't even care in the slightest bit. Definitely do not recommend this place unless you would like to be completely ignored and then getting an I don't care attitude. read more

In other locations I normally love this place.They give good portions of good comfort food for a reasonable price. I normally like them but this location was lacking. We arrived before the lunch rush. We were one of about four tables total. Yet somehow once we were seated, we didn't see our waiter for about 10 minutes. We had to call him over to take our orders. We had to ask REPEATEDLY for some croissants and when they came, they were cold, even though he said that the long wait was because they had just been baked. Then we waited forever for the appetizer which came at the same time as our food, ALL COLD. The spinach dip and queso for the nachos had that dried skin on top. Then to top it all off, dude charged me twice: once for my meal then again for my sisters meal that she had already paid cash for. Then asked me twice if I was sure, as if he didn't believe me, AS I'm showing him proof on the receipts and the card thingy at the table. The amount of times we had to ask him for the same things was ridiculous: napkins, silverware, our drinks, water refills, sauces, and yes- the croissants. Several times I could see him in the hall between the kitchen/back and the dining area just talking to people. My sister asked for management but they never came so we just left. Idk if the whole restaurant needs to be thrown away or just the waiter, but I do not recommend. I'm pretty sure the waiter's name was Chris. We were seated in the coldest part of the restaurant left for 20 minutes with no welcome from the server then ordered our food and came out 30 minutes later with a bag still on the plates from the broccoli and 3 Chicken meals that were all over cooked and bad. I have to admit that I am impressed with this location. Cheddar's is near to relatively crowded Lee Vista/Orlando Airport area with lots of other well known restaurants as competition. It's hard to stand out. I visited on a whim and the place has a good ambiance(cross between Outback and Seasons 52). I was blown away by the low, low price of the menu. I thought I had made a mistake because I was wondering if I was a a fast food joint......the food couldn't be good at prices so low. To my surprise....my ordered dish of Cajun Pasta was one of the best I've had in recent memory. Surprisingly good. The wait staff was friendly and wait times were reasonable. I want to give this place more stars and if I was rating for just the food it would be 5 stars for sure. The problem was the service. We stopped in last night for our first visit and it was unbelievable the way we were served. Just one wait after another even though we were seated right away and the place wasn't that busy. What should have been a little over an hour to eat was well over two hours! And we ended up canceling part of our order because they would have to re-make it! I'd go to Cheddar's again because the food is so great. I recommend it just because the food tastes good and tastes fresh. Cracker Barrel has become one of those places to ignore. The food tastes OK, but the portions have shrunk even more then I remember. The food comes out most of the time at room temperature. I had a Chicken fry Chicken. That was hot. My mashes potatoes was room temperature, and so was my potato Casserole. My wife had eggs, ham, sausage, beacon and toast. (Eggs were proper). Many months ago, a waitress told us about having the toast toasted on the flat top. It was one of the best (in our opinion) way to have toast. (They should butter the bread first, then toast). Overall: Good restaurant. Went there for lunch this past week to celebrate an employees accomplishment. Food: 4 stars- He ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and I had the monte cristo. He said the meatloaf and spuds were good and portion sized allowed him to have lunch much the following day. My monte cristo was more like a stuffed beignets. Definitely different and unique than others around Orlando places that serve it on normal type sandwich bread per se and just enough distinction I liked it. Filling: Smoked ham, smoked turkey, two cheeses, battered and fried until golden, with raspberry preserves and dusted with powdered sugar. The preserves were excellent!!! We both drank fresh brewed tea and was also good. Service: 4 stars- greeted upon arrival, sat promptly and waitress was asking us right away our drink selection. Service was prompt and professional and she kept our glasses full of tea. Offered us to-go teas also. Environment: 4 stars- Nice restaurant with plenty of comfortable seating. I am shocked at what has happened here in such little time. We have been coming here pretty regularly since they first opened because we enjoy the food and service so much. We were taking our nieces out and they wanted steaks. We assured them that this place was great. But we were wrong. We expected a long wait because it usually is at dinner time but when we got there they said 30-35 mins. Ok not bad so we waited. After that time had passed the kids went in to check and it was 10 more minutes. After that time passed my husband went to check it was another 10 minutes. That's what you said last time. A couple minutes later we were seated. I was already frustrated. It should have been a sign of things to come. We placed our orders. The kids and hubby wanted steaks well done and loaded baked potatoes. I ordered my salmon dish. When the plates come up, the server (who was great through the whole mess) tells us the chef just informed her that they won't have baked potatoes for another 30 mins so she brought us mashed potatoes instead. Well this would have been nice to know when we placed our orders so we could select something else instead of looking forward to potatoes. As the kids start slicing into their steaks, 1 of them was extremely underdone. So we inform the server and she takes it back. When the steak comes back it is charred so we cut the burnt top layer off and my niece eats her steak. We informed the manager on duty of our problems so hopefully something will be done to correct their issues. We also apologized to the kids for our false promises. read more

Besides the fact that almost everything here is fried - the food that comes out of that nasty kitchen is beyond puke inducing. I've never been a fan of chain restaurants because I eat at them more times than not do to my career. If all chains were like Cheddar's, I'd love to eat out. I ordered the grilled lemon peppered whitefish that was on the lighter side portion of the menu. It was accompanied on white rice with a small salad with a total of 480 calories. Everything at Cheddar's is made to order. My meal was placed on the table within 15 minutes of ordering it. The fish was perfectly cooked, flaking off of the fork and had just the right amount of lemon and pepper. I'd definitely eat here again and sometime soon. read more

So this place tends to get busy. I didn't really like the big long booths. It makes it so inconvenient and hard to get in and out especially when you're with a large group. I had the buttery croissants and it was amazing. I wish I had more of it! My entree on the other hand was terrible. The steak was so sweet. The season was just bad. I could have cooked it better. I'm not sure if everyone in my group liked their food, but I honestly did not like the steak. The mash potatoes and corn was decent. I rather just eat my sides than the steak. For dessert I had the strawberry cheesecake minis. That was delicious as well. I would definitely come back for the croissants and the dessert. read more

So this place hasn't been open in my area that long and it's always always packed. Every time we have guest they always want to come to this place and I always wondered why but thank God they opened one here I love this place. It is so worth the wait here, the staff is friendly, the drinks are good, and the food the food is ridiculously good. First the apps, the chips and queso dip add the beef is sooo good! They also have an amazing spinach dip definitely get this. They have the best chicken tenders ever, they also have cheese bits I rather mozzarella sticks but the bites are really good. The nachos they have here are everything they are so good and enough for two people. For the entrées, they have the best omg country chicken fried chicken with gravy and mash! I didn't get to take a pic of it and post cause as soon as I saw it I dug in lol but I will post a pic soon. They have a New Orleans pasta that is so tasty it will make you feel like you were in New Orleans. They don't have much of a sandwich section but they have this cheese steak sandwich omg! This sandwich is a must try so delicious very flavorful. This place is very nice and the prices aren't to crazy, there menu isn't very big but the flavors of the food are. I put one star because I can't put less it doesn't allow me to do so. I haven't been to this restaurant in a while and decided to bring my wife because she likes it a lot. I was told there was a 50 minute waiting period which was fine. Then after quite some time outside it was cold and I went inside and there were seating available in the lobby so we sat across a couple maintaining distance. The lady at the front reception walks up to us and tells us that we need to step outside because she can't have too many people in the lobby. I tell her it's cold outside she says well stand between the double doors and I told her seriously there's people there and we need to maintain social distance. She said unfortunately I can't do anything. At that point I am upset and I walk up to what looks like the manager and tell him to take my name off the list and I let them know it was rude of them because there was a couple across from us and they weren't not asked to go outside. What a pleasant surprise. We didn't know what to expect when we got here. What we ended up with was a delicious meal from start to finish. The fruit infused tea was so refreshing and had an sweet flavor. Our chips with meat queso and salsa started us off. Better than most Mexican places we've been! I had the Baja grilled chicken with beans and rice. Wow! Just the right amount of spice and the rice and beans help to keep the spice levels to a minimum. The hubster had grilled fish tacos and was amazed at the flavors. The combination of corn salsa and coleslaw with the with blackened spices were perfect! Can't wait to come back again.
