I have been wanting to try CB since they opened but never made my way out here for various reasons. I love traditional British food and was excited to see this cuisine added to the Indy dining scene. It didn't disappoint! First, service. We were immediately greeted by a friendly man who I believe is the chef and owner. They were setting up our table for our reservation with two high chairs for our 2 year old and 9 month old. Since having kids, we have learned that not all restaurants greet you with a smile when you walk in. However, they were all so kind and friendly with our kids and made us feel so welcome. Hope was our server and we learned she is one of the owners as well. She was a delight to talk to. It felt like dining at a friend's home. The food- the food was fantastic. My husband ordered the corned beef sandwich, we ordered the kid's shepherd pie for our son, and mom had the fish and chips w added curry sauce. Everything was fabulous with an extra shout out to the shepherd's pie. We will definitely be adding CB to our list of go to places. It's a bit of a drive for us but worth it. I LOVE this place, if I could have the fish sandwich everyday, every meal I would, and don't get me started on the curry sauce. The way the sandwich just pours out the yummiest fish juice when you first take bite into it has me licking my hands in the most unashamed way possible. I don't even know what the British cuisine is but eating at cheeky bastards makes me want to be a tea and crumpet drinking brit. I usually don't right reviews, but here goes. You know restaurants are typically thought about in regard to the quality of the food, but you also have to consider the staff. What a lovely bunch of people. The wait staff were great, the chef came out and spent time with us, when we had another question, the chef came back out for a 2nd time. Having lived in the U.K. for over 40 years and in the U.S for almost 17, this was the best battered fish I have had since living here. I typically always have fish and chips at a restaurant I have never been to before, knowing I am probably going to be disappointed! Not this time. I always drink tea at home but never when I go out. They had a great selection of teas, and not just the foo-foo ones, served in a tea pot, with a cup and saucer, so you have somewhere to put your spoon when you have finished stirring. I always wonder, what are you supposed to do with the spoon after you stir your coffee, in a restaurant, that serves it in a mug, when there is no saucer! If you want what most regular people in the U.K. drink, go for either the PG-Tips or if you want something with a bit more body (my choice) Yorkshire. Thank you for the great experience. read more

Popped in for a late lunch with the wifey. We were seated right away. Nice and clean. Good British beer and tea offerings. We both chose to go with the standard British fare of the fish and chips with a side of the onion gravy. Everything came out piping hot and looked amazing. Fish was fried perfectly and the batter nice and crunchy... I like me some crunchy! Not oily tasting at all. The chips were seasoned and delicious. I'm not a fan of tartar sauce but there's had a hint of horseradish and not dilly. I will say this... plan on dropping some Euros though. The fish and chips are $25 each. So with the side of onion gravy, a beer plus tip, the bill was over $90 from the lunch menu. Jolly good though!! read more

DELICIOUS. Had the Sausage Roll for an appetizer - was more like a pasty with puff pastry than a roll, but still very good. Shared a Fish And Chips - they are enormous and enough to feed two. Chips are seasoned perfectly and the homemade tartar sauce is perfect on both the fish and the chips. Mushy Peas! love this though not everyone does. We visited Cheeky Bastards on a Friday night and had a lovely meal! We've been very curious about try this place and are so glad we did. Our server really made the meal spectacular. Apparently the kitchen was slow and he brought us out a scone and an appetizer on the house for our wait. It was extremely thoughtful and truly the wait wasn't that long, we were still in and out in 90 minutes. The Pigs in a Blanket would be PERFECT with eggs and toast at breakfast. We also enjoyed the Shepherds Pie. The chips here were maybe some of my favorite I've had at a British pub. Its hard to know if it's authentic since I haven't been to England, but it's as close as I think you can get on this side of the pond. What a beautiful ambience and delicious food. The servers are the owners or at least make you feel that way, checking regularly on whether everything was good and also helping you to make a good choice. Love the atmosphere and the music. After being seated we waited about 10 minutes for the gal to ask for our drink options, I inquired about the "London Fog" drink but she wasn't sure what exactly it was. About 10 minutes later we received our drinks, at this time we also placed our food order. I nursed a glass of wine for about an hour when the manager finally asked us if we ordered any food. Flabbergasted, we informed her that we had placed our food order about an hour ago. The manager informed us that our server must not have put our food order in and she would place the order for us. By this time my wine had vacated its glass into my belly although I was hoping to drink it with my fish and chips (one can only nurse a glass of white wine for so long). I wasn't about to order another glass, as we had places to be. The fish and chips were a triumph, truly delicious and fresh tasting. However, we were charged full price and did not receive a genuine apology for the length of our weight. I hope my review can inspire change for the better and improve the training/customer service level of the servers. read more

I have been watching reviews since they opened.:... Food was 10 out of 10..... We had the sausage roll and fish and chips. I ordered a side of the brown onion gravy to dip our fries in... would go back just for that. Service was weird for lack of a better word. We were greeted immediately and given water. We waited almost 15 minutes for our bar drinks. There were maybe 6 other people in the restaurant on a Saturday night so not sure why it took so long. We both tried beer and it was from a can. Food was amazing.... Super nice servers but we would have had another drink if they asked. We may go back and try the Tea service with our Grand daughter.... Would not recommend overall read more

Full English: 8.5/10 decent portion even to share if you get enough other starters or sides. Beans weren't warmed through but everything else was tasty Chips with curry sauce: 9.4/10 could have been crispier. Curry sauce was the star Food was solid, service was super duper friendly. Prices were higher than expected. Probably should have made a reservation because our table for two had us both awkwardly facing a wall. Slow service (understaffed) and all of our eggs had runny whites and hard yolks. (Soft boiled eggs in an egg cup should have the opposite so you can actually dip your toasts into the yolk.) The egg on the eggs Benedict were the same- hard yolk and runny whites. When we said this to the server she said we could be clearer with our order the next time we visited. I then took my plate up to the person who seemed to be in charge, as nicely as I could I said this, and that it was inedible. She said they sous-vide their eggs. And she would get the chef. I said it was not necessary. She still did, and the chef said that he learned to sous-vide them in England. While I do not doubt the chef, I've had soft-boiled eggs all of my life, including in England, and these were not quite right. They did offer to make something else, and did take it off of our bill. It was just disappointing, as it was a birthday breakfast for my wife, and we had been looking forward to it. I recommend the food! I had the Yorkshire eggs and they met my need for a new favorite. They do need some work on the tea. They use teas in tea bags which are known to be subpar. I hope they start using loose leaf quality tea that they brew and serve the in a tea pot. I look forward to new developments at this restaurant! read more

Had a great experience at lunch today at Cheeky bastards. It was our first time eating there. First I cannot believe that the place wasn't filled with customers. The atmosphere is stunning. The service was excellent! Our waitress was enthusiastic and got us to try things we ordinarily wouldn't. The food was great! My daughter hates chicken salad but we talked her into it, guess what? This is a great little spot right near Geist reservoir. We stopped in for a late breakfast on Saturday morning and got the scone with clotted cream and the full English breakfast. Having been to London a couple times this is by far the best scone I have had outside of the UK. The clotted cream with it was made in house and amazing! The full English breakfast was perfectly cooked and the toast with it was so good. The owner greeted us after our meal and was very friendly and ensured that we enjoined our meal. read more

We drove all the way to this place for their machine that prints any photo you want on top of a latte. I went with a photo of our dog! The fish and chips were wonderful! Crispy exterior and meaty buttery cod. The tartar sauce they served with it was really really good which probably made me enjoy the fish and chips more. I could do without the mashed peas haha. This was my first time trying clotted cream and I can see why it's so popular. The whole printing custom photos on drinks is so cool, I just wish the drink was actually good. For genuine British food and great customer service! Atmosphere was great. I had the British breakfast that included eggs, sausage, back bacon, sourdough bread, pudding (?), (a must try), and other things I can't remember. So much food!!! A variety of coffees (if you're a cafe coffee drinker you'll love it), and teas (it's British remember!). I will be going back and I really think everyone should try this place out. read more
