First time trying Chef Jeff's Smash Burger. We moved from my hometown Antioch to Discovery Bay around the time they opened so we never got to try it. Today my wife and I made the drive and I have to say it was beyond phenomenal. When I walked in I was greeted by Chef Jeff and it wasn't a long wait even though the restaurant had a good amount of people there. It was clean and you could actually watch them cook up your order unlike a lot of other places. I ordered a Complete Double Smash burger with a side of fries and my wife ordered a Complete Smash burger with onion rings. Everything was made fresh and I could tell they use top tier ingredients. Being a chef myself I have to say I don't enjoy going to get smash burgers outside anymore since I do it myself, but Chef Jeff and the team know what they are doing in the kitchen. They really got it down with the perfect amount of seasoning on the patty and the right ratio of toppings. I also really enjoyed the secret sauce it was similar to Raising Cane's sauce with a little hint of spice. The fries were cooked nicely and seasoned just right. We loved the onion rings they were freshly made and sweet. Everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend checking them out. We'll definitely be stopping by more frequently. read more

This is the best burger place in the Bay Area and it's not even close. Five guys, shake shack, Johnny rockets etc, are not even in the same league as this place. Chef Jeff thought of every detail when creating the perfect burger. The bun is toasted to perfection, the burger sauce is howlin rays tier but for burgers, the fries and it's seasoning are delicious. The portions are generous and if you read the story about this place you can't help but want to support it. Only gripe I have is I wish their shakes were more thick. But this is the best burger spot, like tiers above anywhere else in the Bay Area. read more

I have been eyeing this place since it was recommended by yelp as a new place in my area. Checked out the reviews/photos and it just looked fire and something I needed to try. Did some Christmas shopping and decided to stop for a bite. Plenty of parking around the area which is always nice. Upon entering we were greeted with a welcoming smile. The staff was very friendly and polite. We ordered our food, 2 complete smashed burgers with pepper jack and waited. It smelled so good in there I could hardly wait. The fries and onion rings were everything that was promised in the reviews and the burger even more so. The bacon was thick cut not that paper thin crap you get at other places. Patty was nice and juicy. Everything just blended so well. The prices are higher than the next place but this isn't a chain or franchise location so that's fine. The owner was so kind and the food was amazing . My daughter is a bit of a picky eater and we asked if they could do a grilled cheese and they said of course ( although it wasn't on the menu ). He must of heard her bothering me about not getting her a milkshake because when we were almost done eating he came over and gave her the milkshake she wanted . She was so happy and it was such a sweet/kind gesture . We left and she was so happy and said she loved it there and wants to go there everyday lol. I recommend this place. Burgers are juicy and on point. Not too thin , but just a Happy Medium that makes every bite satisfying. I got the Complete Double Smashed burger with onion rings and drink. The secret sauce looked like thousand islands, but the burger was so tasty, I left it off. Great service, better burger, we definitely have a new leader in the clubhouse as far as burgers in Contra Costa County Go! Maybe the best Smash Burger on this side of the Caldecott Tunnel! We came about 6:00 pm on Wednesday October 2nd, We walked in a worker was taking a order on the phone another was making a milkshake, and the rest of the employees we busy in the kitchen making magic happen. I just wanted to taste a Smash Burger with American Cheese, also ordered an order of fries, my daughter ordered The Smash Burger Meal? It came with Onion Rings & a soda, note, there were 9 onion Rings!, and unfortunately they were very busy with a couple of big orders, our onion rings were cooked a little too long. The star of the show was the Smash Burger, probably one of the better burgers we've gone out and ate at in so long, juicy & delicious. There was one TV playing reruns of Gordon Ramsey's Hells Kitchen & a big screen tv playing a broadcast of live gospel music singers!, the music sounded good, It being a burger spot I would think that perhaps they would have sports on, it is playoff baseball time, basketball ball is getting ready to start, it's football season. I came here because of the article in the paper and I wanted to eat a great hamburger and drink a great milkshake. Can get a better milkshake at any drive through. Way too sweet and quite watery. No milk, if there is a very small amount , just a lot of sugar. The meat was not good quality. Don't know what they fed those cows. It smelled off outside but I ignored it, I should't have. The cashier was still learning and got the order wrong.. it's very overpriced. Purchased the meals and paid around $50.00 for two orders. I will never go back. The actual hamburger patty is delicious... the meat has texture... and those crispy edges of a well cooked burger. The American cheese is also tasty. They are definitely using quality ingredients!
