Well, I've got a new favorite place for fried chicken wings, and it's so close to home! Goodbye, belt. Minus one star for that flavorless fried rice, but those wings are on point! Perfectly fried, and no hammy flavor like some places have. I also got an egg roll which was decent, but I don't see myself craving another one. I'd probably swing by 888 for one of their Cantonese egg rolls. I've read reviews saying the lady who works here isn't friendly, which in my opinion is misleading. She's not super friendly, but she's not unfriendly either. She's just kind of there. But for wings like these I'll forgive a lack of enthusiasm. I ordered my usual hot and sour soup and orange chicken and this place nailed it. Cheap, check; generous portion, check; and lastly satisfaction, BIG check. Their lemon chicken is SOOO good. Sliced breaded chicken breast. On lettuce with lemon wedges garnish. Comes with a pint of steamed rice. Plenty for 2-3 people. It's not in nugget form , but old fashioned sliced chicken breast style. Their $1 sweetened ice tea gives McDonald's Sweet tea a run for their money. Made with Chinese tea. Try it! Their veggie soup is delicious. Add chicken if you want! $1 worth was a nice portion! Request mushrooms instead of water chestnuts if that's more your style. I asked them to add lettuce or Napa cabbage too for that authentic Chinese style and flavor. The broth was clear and soul-giving. It has carrots , broccoli, and pea pods in it too. After a very busy Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, there was no way I was cooking. A friend mentioned that Chens was the closest to our beloved Chinese spots in NYC we could get, so we decided to try. Chens is located in the plaza of the new Fresco supermarket on Curry Ford. On this Christmas day, with everything closed, there was plenty of parking. We cannot go inside, the doors are closed, we are in a pandemic. Orders cam be placed at the window they created. We asked for a menu, reviewed it, usual suspects of Chinese spots, but they have half-chicken, score! Chinese spots by our home on do not make half a chicken. Order: Combo platter mongolian beef and lo mein.( substitute for pork fried rice) Combo general tso chickem with lo mein. Both came with egg rolls. Honey chicken wings with pork fried rice. Half a fried chicken with shrimp fried rice. Steamed pork dumplings. The food is eeally good. The other reviews about the fried rice are true, fresh and yummy. The half chicken, crunchy and soo flavorful. The Mongolian beef and general tso chicken have so much flavor and the lo mein, tasty. The dumplings dough was not thick and doughy, light and bursting with yumminess, more so, with the sauce it is seeved with. Now, the honey wings, salty, sweet goodness! Chens is about 20mins from my house, yet, they still might become my go to. read more

Chen's is your typical Chinese take out place located off Goldenrod and CurryFord Rd by the Post Office and Fresco y Mas Supermarket. There is nothing "out of this world" about this place, but it is what it is... a take out restaurant with delivery and few tables in case you do want to eat there... don't expect table service, though. Food is cooked fast and served hot and that is a plus. If you live in the area, you can count on this place to tame your fried rice and lo mein addictions. read more

I regain a sense of childhood innocence, warm blankets of cul de sacs and parental guidance and presents under the Christmas tree, when I move to a new city and discover my new spot for picking up some General Tso's on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Chen's is 5 mins from our home and stands as this pillar in my life. They always give us our food speedily, it comes warm, packed well, and never explodes with soy sauce spatter all over my car seats (I used to go to this one place where they didn't give lids cuz sea turtles so they just shrink wrapped their open tubs of wanton soup, etc.). This would be a great restaurant if the lady up front wasn't so pushy and rude. She never gets our order right anymore because she rushes you and doesn't give you time to confirm the order. She has a strong accent so that makes it harder to understand. If you have to ask twice she gets even more rude. Don't' you dare ask her to repeat the order again then she gets angry like she doesn't have time! I gave the place one last time today. Order was wrong. So no more Chen's for me. How can you get Moo Goo Gai Pan wrong or chicken with Chinese vegetables. Both names were given to make sure it would be right but it wasn't. Good bye Chen's. Hope you fix your Customer Service. This place was solely off the recommendations of a good friend of mines, who being from up north shares in the quest for great chinese food. After a lovely evening of good food and stories, said friend happened to remark about how they will be spending their New Year's Day. Their tradition of eating chinese food lead us down memory lane, living in NYC and how many folk share this tradition. In the conversation this place was mentioned. Now living here in Orlando, the struggles to find takeout chinese food like back home in NYC is extremely tiresome, but my faith and respect for my fellow's tastebuds took me to try this place. So here we are following tradition, better yet starting a new tradition, my family always ate our traditional foods from Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic, leftover that is. Not going to list them but that was our tradition. But this New Year's Day we decided let's try some chinese food, better yet let's try Chens. So after a 25minute drive from our home over to Chens we park out front. Chens being located in a strip mall, parking was readily available and being New Year's Day no one was out, plus Covid. I get out walk over to the window, with a turnstile, because again Covid and the door being barricaded from anyone entering, made sure that you would have to speak to someone from behind a store window. Now that was nostalgic for me. Many stores and restaurants in NYC operate like this and that's pre pandemic. So already I'm feeling good about this place. We gloss over the menu and one thing keeps jumping out.... Honey Chicken wings. Hop out go over to the storefront window, place our order of Honey Chicken with Pork Fried rice no veggies. Special request for the chicken wings to be fried "hard" and for those who don't know fried hard means extra extra crispy. My wife ordered her self, Half a Chicken with Shrimp fried rice and Steamed pork dumplings. We also ordered Mongolian Beef with lo mein and General Tso Chicken with lo mein. We were advised it would take about 20minutes, so we sit in our car. Another thing that was unique about this place was the fact that they have Half a Chicken. Many of the chinese take out places we've gone too don't offer it. So again I feeling good about this place. 20 minutes go by and there's now a line of people placing and waiting for there order. Luckily it was moving quickly. Food gets paid and placed in turnstile. 25 minutes later I'm biting into the some of the best tasting honey chicken wings I eaten in a very long time. The only other place I can say beats this is back in NYC, Dallas BBQ with their sticky wings. The food was all fresh, rice wasn't old rice like many places have. Everything was good and above board. The only issue is the distance. Not something I can blame on them that's just that. I'd say the Food is pretty solid here over all. Some times the sauces are a little different (the egg foo yung and some of the other dishes). But I've been here a few times now, and the food is consistent and decent for a little local strip mall joint. Definitely Worth a Try!!! read more

I came to Chen's for the first time today during lunch and ordered a lunch special of sesame chicken, pork fried rice, and diet Pepsi for $5.75. My sesame chicken was some of the best I've had, my pork fried rice was pretty good, but my diet Pepsi was tasteless. I looked at the bottom of the can and saw it expired last week. I told the cashier and she apologized and brought me another diet Pepsi. I left and looked at the bottom of the can and saw it had the same expiration date of the last one. While the food is great, and the customer service is friendly, someone needs to keep better tabs on the expiration dates of soda! read more

This is probably the worst chinese food I've ever had. I have had it once before and the food tasted like it was old and they just shoved it in the microwave to make it feel hot. This time I called in an order and they told me it was going to be ready in 35-45 mins. I showed up in 45 and my food wasn't ready. They didn't start making it until I got there and the restaurant was empty which means it was slow. I had to wait for them to make my food. To make things worse the girl at the front was very rude not only on the phone but in person too.
