But as beef stew goes...it wasn't stew-ish enough. Mostly because it has some strong seasonings, and the pieces of beef were cut really small, so it was more like a beef stir fry. That said, it was really tasty. Very flavorful, and the quality of the beef was good. I can see myself going there again. As for he place itself, the staff were nice, though going at lunch meant they were a little (and understandably) distracted. The website makes it seem like it's just for pick-up or delivery, but they have a couple small tables, both inside and outside. And I do mean small. Two people max. There's also a decent sized parking lot (the place is in a mini mall), and there's usually street parking, but at the moment Wilshire is under construction, so plan accordingly.

Hangari Kalguksu is doing really well for themselves! It is good to see. There have been so many changes, but I am not a fan of the changes. What was once meticulously fresh prepared side dishes are now generic looking out of a jar side dishes. They have started to feature more things and have expanded their menu, as well as expanded their shop so that it is much bigger. Still packed! Parking is still valet and a hassle. The waiters and waitresses now speak perfect english, which was nice. Kalguksu is still very good. Overall, it feels more commercial than homely now. As a commercial restaurant, it is good. However, not a place I would travel for anymore. I can get this experience from most local spots. I am keeping this review at a 5 star, because it still is worthy of a 5 star. Braised Pork Rice: This particular dish did not stand out to me, but I have seen other great reviews about it so maybe it was just an off-day. The flavors were a little bland and it simply did not stand out to me. There are definitely better braised pork rices out in the SGV. Thousand Layer Pancake with Egg & Cheese: So packed with flavor while the outside was nicely flaky. It did not feel overly greasy whatsoever and I loved the inclusion of melted cheese. Wish there was more sea urchin and noodles to justify the price! However, I know UberEats takes a huge chunk of fees from restaurants, which is why they have to upcharge the price! Overall, I feel like the portion size is slightly bigger during the dine-in experience so I would recommend dining in if you don't mind the horrendous parking and long wait time for a table.
