It's hard to rate fast food joints against nice sit down restaurants. This place would be a 4 or 5 in the fast food joint world. It's clean and the servers are very very nice. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating. I came for food which ended up being dinner after walking down the Magnificent Mile on my first day in Chicago. I've never had Chick-fil-A before and I had trouble pronouncing the name. I kept wanting to say "chick-fil-uh." Anyway, I had the original chicken with waffle cut fries, Polynesian dipping sauce, and an unsweetened ice tea. The chicken was pretty good. The waffle fries were the bomb though! Omg. They were slightly crispy and I couldn't stop eating them. The sauce was tasty too until I saw the ingredients but even then I was still eating it. And as I was eating, every couple minutes the guy who was cleaning came around to sweep. That's how clean this place is! I didn't mind the frequency, it just meant he was doing his job and making sure the restaurant was spic and span. I visited this location on the 4th of July, and while I understand that it was a holiday and that the restaurant's hours were affected by this, it was a terrible experience. My boyfriend and I came in 10 minutes before closing, 6:50, not knowing that the this location would be closing early. We made it through the doors and in line, but the group that followed in behind us was turned away by a manager. The doors were not locked and they were already in the building. Soon after, the same manager made an announcement that everyone needed to leave, that they were closing at 7. He even went so far as to turn the lights off on the remaining diners. Most of the menu was unavailable except when we tried to order. I understand holiday hours affecting a restaurant, but I've never experienced anything like this before. I've worked in the food industry for many years, and I would have been fired if I had taken the actions the manager had taken at this location. Even if it is a holiday, employees should not rush out customers as they're coming in 10 minutes before closing, let alone rush customers eating. read more

2 1/2 stars. I think the hype exceeds the truth. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming when you walk in. I would love to see in a few months if it's still the same. The food was fair. We ordered the combo 1 and the combo 7. Combo 1 is their original fried chicken sandwich, an order of waffle fries and a soda. Combo 7 is the grilled chicken, fries and soda. The fried sandwich was of course delicious...I mean what isn't good fried??? Perfect spices but it looks so pathetic on a bun with two pickles...nothing else. Yes, you get to choose from a bevy of sauces to put on it but I still think it would be nice to include a piece of lettuce, tomato and maybe a slice of onion. The grilled sandwich I would pass on. The flavor of the chicken was good but it was definitely a rubbery piece of chicken. The biggest disappointment were the fries. I love a good waffle fry but these were way under cooked and not very hot. Maybe because they just opened and they were very crowded that they were trying to get the food out a little too fast. Let me be up front about this. Before this store opening up, I hadn't tasted CFA in about...5 years. Before that, it was probably 10 years. The taste of bread, chicken and pickle is so distinct in my memory, that when I eat it now, I can feel my childhood mall around me. There is a halcyon taste to their chicken nuggets. I went the first day they opened and waited in the long-ass line for my chick-fil-a. The last time I had it was in Indiana while I was in school and I sure do miss it. I made sure to ask for extra Polynesian sauce with my chicken because it's delicious with the waffle fries too! One thing I did notice about the employees is that they are super-fast: at taking your order, taking your money, giving you change, giving you food, it's all fast! I went on my quest for Chick-fil-A yesterday and I do mean quest being that this Chick-fil-A is downtown and I had no reason to be downtown other than to obtain the coveted cuisine of Chick-fil-A. With such a huge population of Chick-fil-A junkies pouring through the doors, this is more of a factory than a restaurant. While the flow of service is quick, the experience is somewhat reminiscent of an airport check-in. The workers are very friendly and helpful but the environment isn't memorable of anything except being crowded. I am completely addicted to their nuggets and the girl at the check out made my day by honoring my sauce sampler request (I asked to try them all). I think I would still eat at Chick-fil-A even if everything they served tasted like crap, as long as I could get an order of their waffle fries. Lemonade...ahhhh. I know, my friends will ask me why I haven't reviewed Chick-fil-A yet. Being an Atlanta girl, I went three times in the first three days they were open. I then averaged about once (or twice) a week. Now I think I have a more manageable schedule. I have also run into several friends at this Chick-fil-A, even though we didn't plan on meeting. So yes, I come here rather often. The service at this Chick-fil-A never fails. Being a frequent customer, I have had the opportunity to get comped meals - if you ever have an issue, you can kindly let someone know because they want to be aware and fix the problem. And, that usually includes some kind of apology to you and free chicken in the future. Who doesn't love free chicken and knowing that management cares about feedback? I usually stick to the class Chick-fil-A sandwich, which translates to the amazing chicken biscuit in the morning. Chicken for breakfast? Heck yes! Chick-fil-A has recently exploded in the last few years, it started popping up in California, where I'm from, about 6 years ago. My friends from the south have always raved about how great it was. Admittedly, I was not impressed my first go around and really annoyed that it was not open the first time I tried to go (not open on Sundays). It was probably one of the happiest moments of my life when I found out that there was a chick-fil-a opening in downtown Chicago. If I could, I would live above it so that I could eat there 6 days a week... as a bonus, its probably one of the nicest chick-fil-a i've ever been to. Go here. Finally came here after hearing how great this place is. It was good but not so good that I find myself praising this place. I had the original chicken sandwich with the Chick-fil-A dipping sauce (kinda reminds me of honey mustard + zesty sauce from BK). The sandwich is very plain and when you unwrap it, it looks unappetizing. I remember the face expression my gf and I gave each other when we unwrapped it- a little disappointed. I have to admit that soon after the bite and dip, we were very satisfied. I did hear that I was supposed to get the waffle fries after the fact. I love this place. Super easy to get to from the Red Line and right close to the Ma Mile shops. Food is awesome, service is better, and they work at light speed. Food is always fresh and served hot . I always get the spicy chicken sandwich with waffle fries, definitely can't be beat. A couple times ago, they passed out free samples of the new Peppermint Shake, and now they got me hooked on it. Place is usually packed, but you can normally find a seat by the window and hang out. Overall, I've had consistently good experiences with Chic-fil-A. Pros: - They have an app that also has an option for curbside service. (Place your order on app, drive up to store, employee brings your food to your car). My sister loves this app. - They do such a great job of creating tender chicken pieces. Every Time. Cons: - Sometimes I feel like their food could use a little more... something...? I don't know what it is. Maybe I'm not ordering the right chicken sandwich. I know that it's fast-food. I know. But the lettuce is always so flat. I often feel like I'm just eating a bun and a piece of chicken, no matter how many other things I have them put on it. I would rather take home the bare chicken sandwich and add my own lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and more. When i do that, it's delicious. When I don't, it's a $4 bun with chicken. - Today we went and our order placed on the mobile app didn't go through, so we ended up waiting at least 15 minutes for our food because we had to re-order everything. That was not normal, but it was not fun. I always go to Chic-fil-A wanting to love it, especially because many of my friends and family are big fans. And I will say, their chicken is really really good. But I sometimes feel like I walk away feeling a little disappointed. I will still keep coming back - I want that free cookie! We use to go to Chick-Fil-A when we visited North Carolina. We looked forward to it like we would a big event and eating their excellent fried chicken sandwiches and waffle cut fries. Now that Chick-Fil-A has opened only a short drive from my house here in Chick-A-Go it took us over a year to make it there to eat. The food is just as good and the place is well run and service is very friendly but there is something to be said for keeping places regional, it kind of makes it more fun. The above being said if you are craving a chicken sandwich this is the place to get it, crispy and tasty. After some extensive personal research I have to say Chick-Fil-A is better then any of those over priced chicken places popping up in all the"hipster" neighborhoods. Chick-Fil-A doesn't have to smoke it, sous vide it and triple 4 day marinade it to make it taste great, plus they don't charge you $12 for just a leg and a thigh. Waffle fries are my fav and they're good here but not always as crispy as I like, still tasty though. Everything taste better dipped in one of the many sauces they offer and don't be shy asking for a selection, they're happy to dish them out. Polynesia, ranch and buffalo are my fav but if you like smokey try the Chick-Fil-A sauce. It was not busy the day we went, which happened to be New Years day, correct we had no resolution to remove fried food from the diet. They do offer some order a head no wait mobile thing if you suspect there might be a line. I wanted to hate this place because I despise the politics, homophobia, and right-wing religious fervor of their owners. But I tried it anyway. 3 stars is the best I'd give any fast food place, and this is definitely the best service I've ever experienced in this type of place. Despite a long line, my order was taken and filled quickly. (I wish I'd noticed that the deluxe sandwich has cheese on it, cuz I'd rather it didn't. Next time I'll ask them to 86 it.) Half-and-half on sweet vs. unsweet tea - no problem. When the wandering dude asked me how everything was, I complained about the fries not being crisp. No problem - back in a few minutes with hot, crisp fries just out of the fryer; and by the way - next time ask for them well done and you'll get them the way you like it. (Apparently some people prefer squishy fries - go figure.) I was a bit intimidated by the lack of obvious table space, but found a spot to sit without much trouble. And yes, the staff must get paid by the smile! As for the sandwich, it was OK. I'd like it crisper. I'd prefer it without cheese, and would rather have to ask for cheese than remember to say "no cheese." Especially this cheese, think Kraft slices. Not worth the calories. I like having the sandwich arrive with no sauces so I can add what I want. I like the special Chick-fil-a sauce. I wish the bun was toasted cuz the bun gets kind of mushy once you add sauce. I don't know about the guy who couldn't find the ketchup packets - probably because these are a different shape and size than normal. To those complaining about the prices. A deluxe sandwich, fries, and soft drink for less than $7 before taxes - I don't really know where you can do better. Noise level of the place when busy: conversation-challenging. They seem to have a good selection of non-sandwich options, and I'll try one of those next time. read more

We stopped here for the Christmas light parade on Michigan Ave. It was a zoo. They had two friendly people working the door that helped you find a seat. They all hands on deck at the registers, so there was basically no line. When we sat down with our food they had someone walking around asking if we needed any extra sauce, napkins, etc. this is a fast food restaurant... awesome service. I've first tried Chick-fil-A about 2 years ago... up north near Milwaukee area? I was excited that they were finally here because I have to say that their waffle fries are really delish! Today, I ordered 3 sandwiches to go for us. Our total order was almost $19 total. Very nice and friendly staff kindly guide you to make the line move quickly...Order comes out pretty fast! I ordered the original chicken sandwich meal with the lemonade. The lemonade was way too sweet for me. Maybe I'll try the unsweetened tea next time? Spicy chicken Sandwich definitely has a kick! Grilled Chicken Sandwich was just alright. Unfortunately, it wasn't as tasty as their original, but then again, how can you beat deep fried chicken? I liked how they used some sort of whole wheat looking bun for the grilled chicken sandwich. I wonder if we can make any bun substitutions for the other sandwiches. I'm not sure why the Grilled Chicken sandwich was in a styrofoam box, where as the other 2 crispy sandwiches were in a foil lined bag. Strawberry milkshake was pretty decent. It wasn't too sweet and didn't taste fake. Also had real strawberry bits in them. I don't normally drink milkshakes, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. Downside of carrying out was that the the buns get a little soggy from being packaged up too long... They have the condiment bar to the side so you can pick out the sauces of your choice to your content. But be aware that majority of their sauces have high-fructose corn syrups and preservatives in them. I'll probably come back again, but will plan on eating it there to avoid the soggy buns. read more

And I jump up and down with glee to get my fave chicken. And now, we have our very own location. It's a warm, fuzzy feeling. This review is for their catering service - although I would give this Chick-Fil-A five stars anyway. I've catered two events from this location and I'm beyond impressed. It's super easy to order online, they'll call a day before to confirm everything, they arrive on time, they are SUPER friendly people and give you everything you need (silverware, all the dipping sauces). The food is great - beyond the yummy fried chicken you can order healthy food as well - the mixed fruit is good (not just melon which is my pet peeve!), great sized salad for a large group, and the grilled wraps are a fave!
