A lot of people rave about chick-fil-a. but honestly, you don't want to have too many high expectations coming into this place. It's just like any ordinary fast food place. The only real difference is that the chicken is perfectly cooked, really tender, and not dry at all. My first two times going, I was not satisfied because my expectations were really high. I thought, "it's just chicken and a bun... Nothing special". So this time, with the mentality that it was just okay, I actually really enjoyed it. I just got #1. The first time, I was shocked by the length of the drive thru line, which snaked through the giant parking lot and spilled onto the street. It looked like it was going to take least 30 minutes and we were almost ready to give up on our dream of eating chicken. It was then that I noticed some people on foot, waiting just outside the front door, picking up food. As it turned out, a large number of those folks were DoorDash delivery drivers. However, there were others who placed mobile orders. I learned that I can download the Chick-fil-A app and order through there. From ordering to getting my food was only about 10 minutes! Face masks are required to retrieve a mobile order. I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich both times and it was glorious. And who doesn't love all the sauces you can get with your order? It's surprising how good a "chicken sandwich" can be and I was sad to find out that there weren't many of these restaurants in the West coast. How can I be separated from those delicious waffle fries!? Fast forward a decade later and I now live in Pittsburg. I was extremely happy to find out that there's a Chick Fil A in Walnut Creek! I didn't care how far it was, so I headed out to get me some chicken. For lunch, I ordered the Chick Fil A Deluxe Chicken sandwich along with potato waffle fries. To my satisfaction, it did not disappoint. The chicken sandwich was juicy and big (since they use chicken breasts). It came with lettuce, tomato and American cheese. Simple. The waffle fries, however, were the highlight for me. They were warm, crispy and so good. I think I like the waffle fries more than the sandwich! Be sure to eat your food right away as it's best when it's hot. I also feel that Chick Fil A is the chicken equivalent to In N Out. Qualify food (for a fast food chain) that comes warm and tasty. The consistency of serving this is what makes this location legit. The line is really long for drive thru, but it does go by quick so don't be intimidated.
