This is honestly, some of the best chicken in the bay area. The crust was Crunchy with a lot of flavor. The chicken itself was really juicy not dry at all. I do have to say that the service was pretty amazing. They must have checked on us two or three times just to make sure we were okay and that we had everything that we needed. For such a small establishment for a team to go that far is pretty remarkable. Pretty relaxed environment very simple. You gotta try the lemonade.It was delicious. We had both regular fries and the spicy ones which did have a nice kick to them nothing overly powering, but a nice kick.

The staff is amazing! Hands down very friendly and helpful. However I'm not sure about the chicken. I was excited to try this place because the reviews are highly regarded. I tried ordering 1 piece of dark meat just to try it, I end up buying the 4 pcs, because they charge $10 only for one pcs. Yup you heard that right. I asked the cashier if I was hearing that right and he verified. Maybe he was new and did not know what he was doing but I end up spending about $31.00 for 4 pieces with drinks and fry's and also sauces. Definitely a disappointment! The chicken is heavily battered, crispy but bland, chicken has a flavor but it just doesn't taste like a fried chicken should be. I think I should have just had the chicken sandwich which would have been better, if you're coming to this place don't order any bone in chicken, complete waste of money. Just order the tenders and chicken sandwich

This is a solid spot if you're craving chicken late night. Parking is a bit limited and the place itself is kind of small, but there is seating both inside and outside, which helps. Portion sizes are definitely a highlight. We ordered the 5 tenders with mac and cheese, bread, and fries, and it was more than enough to split between two people. Good value for how much food you get. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Fries were alright; my husband and I just wanted it slightly crispier but seasoning was good. Mac and cheese was good. Loved the cheese and pasta was cooked well. Food came out fairly quickly, though the service itself was just okay, nothing standout but not bad either.

Just to get some of the not so great things about Chicken G out of the way; it's not a very sanitary place, and it's not at all a fancy place at all. However, if you want a lot of food for ~ 15 bucks, then Chicken G is the place. The chicken is so tender here, and it's a fun place to just hang out after Volleyball. It's deserving of a 5 star rating! Keep up the good food!

Came here for a quick takeout order on a Sunday around 2pm and there were a few customers eating inside, but no line! Not a whole lot of seating options inside, so more of a casual quick bite or takeout place! ~the food~ - The Big G (~$15) : HUGE fried chicken sandwich! The fried chicken pieces here are very generous and definitely freshly fried! The chicken was super crispy, juicy, and had great seasoning/flavors! It was a bit oily, but hey it's a fried chicken sandwich lol the sandwiches comes with your choice of a side, and we went with the seasoned fries which was also super hot and fresh! ~parking~ there's a small parking lot behind the shop, but also plenty of street parking around the area! ~overall~ it took about 10-15mins for our food to be ready after we ordered since they cook everything fresh! overall, i think this is a great takeout spot for fried chicken! i will definitely be back to maybe try their fried chicken platter!

I got the loaded g fries, which comes with some pieces of chicken. While the flavor was there, the whole thing was too heavy for me so I got full pretty fast. I ended up taking at least half home. The portion is huge - definitely shareable. Most of the chicken pieces I ate felt more like the fried skin, and not the meat itself. The fries were great when freshly made, but not that amazing once it cooled down. I'd suggest sticking with their chicken sandwiches instead. I tried a few bites of my fiancé's sandwich and it was very flavorful, juicy, and huge.

It was a late night. I didn't have too many places to eat at because everything's closed. Luckily, a place called Chicken G's was open near me. When we got there we noticed it had its own parking lot in the back, bathrooms not in the restauraunt, and about 5 tables of seating. The inside looks like your typical american diner. On walls they put "This isn't fast food, it's fresh", to let us know that it will take time to make our food. We decided to order the naughty sandwich. One thing that really stood out to me was that the cashier wiped our table before we sat down. Really didn't expect that, a nice little touch. When the sandwich came, I was floored. This thing was HUGE. I literally couldn't even fit it in my mouth in 1 bite, I had to chip at it bit by bit. but oh man, it definitely did not disappoint- it was craaaazy juicy, with a nice spicy kick from the serranos. The crispiness and juiciness really blew me away- it's like a tier above other fried chicken (buttermilk style, so don't compare it to nashville). When we asked the cashier for more peppers, he really hooked us up- he gave us a tray of them! I was so amazed because I was just not expecting them to actually fill our outrageous request. The fries were pretty good, but I was so full from the chicken I ended up taking most of them home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone and I'll for sure be coming back when my fried chicken craving hits again!

I really wanted to like this place. I have friends who come here often, and I currently live nearby. But after a few tries, I think Chicken G's isn't right for me. Starting with the pros. The service is typically fast and friendly. You do get a lot of bang for your buck, as the servings are generous. And, when I taste the chicken, I can tell it's well-seasoned, flavorful, and made-to-order. But, I just think the fried chicken is just way too heavy & oily. The breading is excessive, as my mouth dries before I get to the chicken underneath. The sides, like the fries and coleslaw, are also average. While I appreciate Chicken G's and acknowledge some like what's offered, I feel there are better places for fried chicken, even for halal customers.

Came here on a Monday afternoon. It wasn't very busy, but the food did take a while to come out. The interior is decent, nothing fancy but it seems like a chill hangout spot, especially since they're open until 1 a.m. We ordered The G Meal, which comes with 4 pieces of chicken (2 thighs, 2 drums), 2 sides, 2 Texas toasts, and house sauces. For our sides, we chose the mac & cheese and fries. Honestly, the sides weren't great. As you can see in the photo, the mac & cheese was clumpy and mushy, and the fries were just okay. The chicken was definitely worth getting tho, super crispy, tender, and juicy. The seasoning was on point you don't even need extra sauce (we didn't even get any house sauces with ours). We also tried The Big G, which is their chicken sandwich with a side. It was so good. My final thoughts: Come here for the chicken and skip the sides.

Food: the classic chicken g burger with side is pure delicious awesomeness!!! The chicken is so juicy and outside is crunchy. I got the coleslaw, yummy but the dressing could be less. The Mac n cheese is also nice and creamy. Definitely fresh made to order. Service: friendly and pretty quick to receive the food! Ambiance: cozy and small. Wish they could turn on ac more during the hot weathers but still bearable. This is our go to place as the quality never disappoints! A safe option!

based on the reviews here, I had to check this place out. I believe they're still soft open so the menu is limited to three sandwiches and only fries... but honestly that's enough. The halal chicken was absolutely delicious, the coating was crispy without being heavy, and the fries were seasoned... I will definitely be eating here again. so nice to have an alternative to bigoted Chick-fil-A read more

One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Definitely in my top 3. The chicken was perfectly cooked. The chicken sandwich is big and really good. They came out with fried chicken bone-in which was also really good. I removed one star because of their pricing. $15 for a chicken sandwich is expensive and $21.99 for a four piece fried chicken is expensive. A word of caution, DO NOT ORDER using Doordash. The Combo 2 four piece fried chicken was $21.99 in the store but if ordered on Doordash, it was $27.99 and this was for pickup and not delivery. That's a 27% up charge! When I asked the restaurant why such a high price difference for the same food, he said because they add a 13% "service charge" for Doordash orders. That doesn't make sense and also doesn't add up. read more

This is what I expect when I bite into a chicken sandwich, first off your getting a breaded chicken breast that's not hard or stale like, it's golden crunchy and delicious. Now the chicken, the chicken is juicy flavorful and hardy I mean the size of this chicken and there secret sauce is so good. I believe they are halal if that matters to you, unless you live in the Sunnyvale Mtn view area you will be making a drive but to me it's worth it and I'm in Milpitas almost a 25 minute drive. I don't care much for there fries and or Mac and cheese but that chicken sandwich read more

So the staff that works here seem socially awkward. They do a lot of weird staring. But put that aside, this place has hands down the best chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. They are open late (1am, I think) but the chicken is juicy, very crunchy, and oh so flavorful. The portions are huge, I am only able to finish half my sandwich. This hole in the wall joint is a must try. Don't get thrown off but the outside appearance. You will be in for a surprise. As long as you don't mind the strange stares that is. Personally, I keep my head down and try to defer from making eye contact. read more

Just walked in and stood there for 5 minutes, waiting to order. Were not acknowledged and stood at the register. The employee just stared at us and was bagging other food the whole time while other orders were printing from their machine. Who knows when he would've let us order, and would've placed us further back in the queue to get food. Wish I could've tried, but hopefully the Fremont location is better. read more

This was a fantastic sandwich. Chicken had big portions, was super crispy. Bun was nice. What got me is that this guy cut the jalapeños paper thin- they were perfect! I was waiting for this place to open and it was well worth it. I had a good feeling when I first saw the limited items on the menu, which signify they must make everything really well since they're laser focused. I ordered the Naughty Chicken Sandwich and it was amazingly crispy. It also had "G sauce" which was very flavorful and reminded me of some sort of curry. The fries also had a unique seasoning that I have never tasted anywhere else. All and all I would definitely come back and recommend this place. My husband and I kept driving by while this place was under construction. We finally saw that it was open and decided to give it a try. We were so happy we did. I haven't actually gone into the restaurant in person yet, however, I have ordered 4 times now from DoorDash. I just want to say this is THE chicken sandwich. I will accept no others now. Incredible food, massive chicken breast always seasoned well, and the fries are pretty good too. I'll have to drop by for a visit some time to actually get my hands on some for real fresh food because you know DoorDash can be slow sometimes. It's always exciting when a place in MV is open past 8, let alone 1am! I've been saying that Starbird in Sunnyvale is the best fried chicken in the area. That is simply no longer true. Wow. Easily one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I got the Naughty Chick. Huge portion, great value, and cooked to perfection. Fries were absolutely on point too. Oh and they have Jarritos! While I'm excited for their official grand opening next week, I'd be totally thrilled with the current menu as is. I will definitely back. read more

Not your every day fast food place, as quirky as it gets. Sidewalk storefront on El Camino in bright colors with picnic table on the road. Ah, love that exhaust with my chicken. Inside its small and cozy but big enough for most times of the day. The chicken took a while but cam out hot and crispy and delicious. Had the Chicken G sandwich. It was probably one of the best Fried Chicken Sandwich I've had. The chicken was moist inside and fluffy flacky outside. Bun held together well but soft. Sauce was also tasty. Reasons I did not give 5 stars are - I asked for extra crispy fries. While the cashier acknowledged it, fries came out semi crispy. - Coleslaw side was just ok - Vege in the sandwich was minimal However, this is definitely a keeper. read more

JUICY. CRISPY. FLAVORFUL. CHICKEN! Came here with my boyfriend after our concert late night around 11:30 pm. Not many places were open besides chain fast foods. I saw this place on yelp and called in. The guy that took the order was very nice and took his time telling me what comes with the sandwich. It was pretty busy with only two people working that night and I appreciate how he didn't rush me. Good thing my boyfriend and I decided to share one chicken sandwich (the big G) which also came with seasoned fries, and that sandwich was H U G E! I have to say, hands down the best chicken sandwich i've ever had in the Bay area. The fries were crispy and PLEASE GET A SIDE OF GARLIC MAYO and HOUSE SPECIAL SAUCE! Food: 5 stars Service: 2 stars Grubhub delivery. Kept the driver waiting WAY too long. I appreciate that the food is made to order but other restaurants have the same challenge. Forgot the fries on BOTH orders (how does that even happen - big obvious empty place in container where fries should be). Chicken is amazing though so I'll give them another shot. But damn I wanted those fries. It should be common sense to pay more attention with delivery orders. read more

So glad to stumble upon this hidden gem!! I was visiting my friend and the drive back was kinda long so searched for late night spots still open. Decided to give Chicken G's a shot. I ordered the Naughty Chick with fries and a drink. Fries were nice and crispy but the real star was the chicken! Tender and juicy, and a large cut of chicken compared to other sandwiches from similar businesses. It was zesty and tasty, and I loved every bite of it. DO NOT FORGET TO GET THEIR GARLIC SAUCE ON THE SIDE. The sauce elevated the flavors so perfectly. Overall, 5/5 for Food and 4.5/5 for service. Would definitely be visiting this spot again with friends and family...whenever I am in the area next. read more

Their sandwiches are amazing. I usually go for their Bad Boy sandwich, but they're all really really good. Best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The fries can get a bit soggy after a while but they're still quite solid and well-seasoned. Ask for extra sauce - they go really well with the fries. Note the markup for delivery services like Doordash is pretty high compared to in-store pricing so try to order direct from the store and pick it up if you can. read more

HOLY SMOKES!!! Best Chicken Sandwich I have ever had . It blows away the competition by miles. I was a good sized breast and it was battered up beautifully. For instance, the thali from the Palo Alto location includes a side salad, which was not included in my order here. The other sides (pickled salad and daal lentil), along with the entree, were also significantly smaller here. The prices are the same, so I do think the Palo Alto dishes are more worth it.

I recently visited Chicken G's on 1414 West El Camino Real with my wife, and it was an exceptional experience. We decided to grab some pizza, and what pairs better with pizza than chicken wings? My wife ordered a 5-piece mix of drumsticks and thighs, and from the first bite, we were hooked. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside--just the way I love my fried chicken. The flavor was spot-on, and we couldn't get enough. My wife keeps raving about how great everything was, and I have to agree--this place is a hidden gem. The customer service was top-notch. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. There's also convenient parking in the back, and if you prefer to eat in, there are seats inside to enjoy your meal. If you like your fried chicken hot and fresh, Chicken G's is definitely the place to go. Next time we're in the Mountain View area, we'll absolutely be returning for more. I visited this place a few months ago and had a pretty good experience. The chicken was large, well-seasoned, and perfectly crispy. Both the garlic sauce and the yellow sauce were flavorful additions, and the food arrived hot and fresh. Unfortunately, on a recent visit, things had noticeably declined. The food was mediocre--underseasoned and lacking the flavor I remembered. What really turned me off, though, was the state of the restroom. It looked like someone had showered in there--there was water, and possibly urine, all over the floor, and the mirror was fogged up. It was unsanitary and unsettling, and it seriously made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. They need to step it up, especially when it comes to basic hygiene.
