Recently we have been getting food from Chicknic on a weekly basis, and I must say, it is always always top quality food and service. The chicken bites are fried to perfection - crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, and the roasted chicken is a must grab. Just get the whole bird! A good healthier option! We got takeout from Chicknic this weekend and everything was delicious. We have a family of four (two small children) and 1/2 roast chicken was plenty. There is no service, it's a kiosk and a text to pick up food. The food is awful. There is literally no seasoning on anything, the chicken in my salad tasted boiled, and the corn wasn't even cooked. It was just gross and not even worth the $26 we spent. read more

f I could marry every item on this menu I would! Yes, it might be pricey, but everything is pricey these days (have you tried taking your family to Mighty Fine or Chick Fil E? It costs an arm and a leg!) and there's no tipping so the cost doesn't go up 20% and it's so delicious and fresh, it's worth every penny. The roast chicken is insane! I don't even eat the dark meat and am fine paying for all of it just to get my hands on the chicken wing and breast! It's THAT good. We love (in no particular order) the popovers, French fries, cauliflower gratin, Asian chicken salad, chicken sandwich, chicken bowl, frozen strawberry lemonade and frozen custard! My husband ONLY eats the chicken sandwich (it's in a fresh pita, actually) because it was the first thing he ordered there and fell so in love with it (I'm not jealous, so it's fine), he won't branch out. He's found his taste bud euphoria. The staff is so welcoming, it's like seeing friends whenever we go in. But the best part is, the subtle South American twists. Passion fruit topping for the custard (and legit passion fruit, not the fake stuff you get at a grocery store) and the option to get chimichurri and aji sauce... my husband and I lived in South American for a while, so these touches are extra appreciated. read more

The chicken is SO delicious--still thinking about it days later--and my kiddo happily ate the leftovers--which is a rare occurrence and a wonderful surprise. We had heard rumors of this "Chicknic" restaurant opening nearby, a healthy family meal you could get in a hurry. We were skeptical- It sounded impossible, but we waited with eager anticipation... And then, the wait was over! We ordered our first roasted-to-perfection chicken and when the to-go bag entered our car, we were overcome with the delicious aroma. We couldn't even wait for a stop light to take the first bite! There we were driving through town enjoying the most juicy, crispy, salty, PERFECT chicken ever! Needless to say, the steering wheel needed some love from a wet wipe. But our story doesn't end there. Chicknic has now become a dinner staple in our family. Once a week we invite friends and family to partake in the in-house made sauces, thoughtful sides, fun popovers, roasted chicken and cowboy cookies! The staff and owners are incredible! I got to try Chicknic during their soft opening last week and it was so so delicious! For starters, the space is absolutely beautiful and clean. The menu is just the right size - I appreciate how they're focusing on a perfect roasted chicken with the right amount of variety and options. And let me tell you, the chicken was PERFECT. I ordered the whole chicken meal with the roasted root vegetables and summer salad. I got the meal to go and could barely manage to keep myself from tearing into the packaging on the 10 min drive back to my house in dripping springs. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The chicken skin was still crispy when opening at home (I did manage to restrain myself). The root veggies had the perfect crunch without being undercooked. And the summer salad, which came dressed, was flavorful without being soggy because it didn't have any greens. I loved it all and cannot express enough how happy I am to have a delicious and healthy food option in the area!!! read more
