This is probably one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The servers were so professional and the food came out SOOO fast. Not to mention that the food was AMAZING!!!!!!! I definitely recommend the chili oil wontons. At this point i'm not recommending i am telling you, you NEED to order them if you want your taste buds to feel like a virgin eating for the first time. We were guessing the price of the bill when we finished and I said $120.... um it came out to $62?!?!?! We had 4 "starters" which are good sized (and it was happy hour) and an order of the black truffle dumplings. Definitely do during happy hour - either way this place is really a bang for your buckarooni. If I was one of those food critics i'd probably give this place a michelin star. Went here for a quick date night with my partner. Chinese food in Belltown? I had extremely low expectations but we were hungry. I was impressed well beyond my expectations. Their execution on many of the traditional dishes were classical yet thoughtful and not over the top. I enjoyed the Mala xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and I was shocked that they were able to get the skins of the dumplings so thin without a crazy large staff at Din Tai Fung preparing these. I highly encourage people to visit this restaurant, it's unique, well executed dishes, fast cooking and the value is there for the quality you're getting. Kudos to the chefs and restaurantuers behind the scenes. I know the food business and it's a tough one, but if you can keep this up, you guys will cement a name for yourselves in Belltown. read more

Very unimpressed in the offerings and the overall value of this small restaurant. I agree with another review that classifies it as a tourist trap. I have no idea and am baffled how this place has as many stars as it does. The fusion is too confused, and this is not what I remember or want American Chinese food to be. The fusion approach seems more like confusion to me. Way too many dishes have truffle oil which is really pretentious yet doesn't add any enjoyment for me to the dishes. It just distorts the traditional flavors with over played truffle oil introduction that detracts vs adds to the dishes. The General Tsao chicken made with fattier dark meat and not the better quality and better tasting white meat chicken breast is ridiculously over priced, and I think it is a joke of a cheap shortcut, because the benchmark of great American Chinese restaurants I know would use higher quality and better tasting white meat. Here they seem to charge high but go cheap with the base ingredients. In the end, I expect they will lose with that formula. Portions are small and while a few dishes like the HK wonton soup are a decent item if you ignore the pricing, most of the other food here is underwhelming, small portion sized, and way over priced for what it is. Not a fan... at all. I wish another American Chinese restaurant would come to this area and do things right. I'd even pay more for great quality vs gimmicks that just don't deliver in the way they should. They sure didn't seem to care about customer feedback and preferences either. No problem. The server girl with glasses needs to either redo her training on customer service or good luck with everything. So many things went wrong and we all left very upset. First two friends and I came to have lunch and we were little disappointed that they took next table's order first when we came in earlier. When the server girl finally came to take order, I asked what spices go in hong kong braised beef noodle soup, she simply replied that she doesn't know anything and never even cared to check with the kitchen. The menu doesn't have any food descriptions and I wanted to know in case they use certain spices I'm allergic to. The most appalling thing was she hands us happy hour menu and regular menu and I ordered regular wontons and honey walnut prawn which was happy hour menu item at the time. However server charges me with regular price because I was looking over at regular menu while I was ordering. She explains there's different sizes but there's no information about that on the menu and didn't even care to specify and confirm that when taking the order. This is my first time coming and you gave me the happy hr menu, so anyone would think you would be taking as happy hour price unless you specified. The server girl didnt even apologize and said we don't usually do this but would switch it to happy hour price however her communication and how she treated all of us left us nothing but leaving sour taste in our mouth. I would not come here again because obviously they don't care about customer satisfaction but only look out for their profits. Go somewhere else if you don't want to ruin your time with friends and families. read more

But when I got there they were sold out of everything except the dan dan noodles, and I could tell the noodles were missing something, yet I was still charged the full amount. If you aren't at Chiho Bistro then you are eating at the wrong place. This is a new gem in the heart of Belltown. It's about a month into the soft opening and the food is incredible. We tried the wonton dumplings, the truffle pork soup dumplings, the crispy wood ear mushrooms, and the honey walnut prawns. All were fabulous. The service is also excellent. The space is small, so try it soon before everyone finds out about it. read more
