Awful service. Let me preface this to say that I was a server at a different Chili's, and slow service is totally unacceptable and a result of bad training on the part of the management. Came in for lunch around 2:00, when it wasn't busy by any stretch of the imagination. Our server had to be reminded by another server TWICE before he greeted us and took our drink orders. After that, we waited 15 minutes for him to bring us our soup, which was cold, and which we immediately sent back. Waited another 10 minutes for more soup, and my husband's came back lukewarm. When our food arrived, it was decent - standard Chili's fare - but once again, our server had to be flagged down when we needed our check, and then again when we needed him to take it to charge our card. I feel like, because this particular Chili's is one of the only big chain restaurants in the area and because it's on the river, they feel like they can get away with bad service. The service is hit or miss. My husband and I took a break from a hospital visit and sat at the outside bar for a quick drink and the server, who was standing right in front of us keying orders in didn't even acknowledge us...at all. I had to go inside and order for ourselves and as my husband said, it was a good thing we had no intention of eating because our entire time there he never asked if we needed anything or even looked in our direction. I heard the people sitting next to us complaining about never getting a refill on their drinks. Sadly, this is one of the more popular restaurants in Kerrville so we ended up back there a few days later for my mother's birthday, (her pick). The waitress was friendly and very attentive. Wow!! Let's start with that. It took 15 min for anyone to say hi to us. After we ordered, we got food in a timely manner. Then ordered a dessert....um.....how long does it take to make this dessert? Well about 20 minutes went by and a manager came by and said she just put it in, no apology. She could care less also, just like the rest of the staff. Something needs to be done about there moral. Waited over an hour for food in a less than half full restaurant. My food arrived cold so I sent it back and then another 15 minutes later I get another cold plate of food. It almost seemed like a prank. This time I said forget the food just bring me the check so I can put this miserable experience behind me. My wife and I eat our several times a week and recently Chili's has gone down hill. Last time we ate there the food was cold, late, service was slow and the music way too loud especially for the older crowd that frequents this place. We decided to try it again for lunch and it became apparent the place was not crowded (for a reason). We did place our order but after 30 minutes of waiting we just left ( I left $10 on the table for the drinks). I told the receptionist about why we were leaving and she just shrugged her shoulders. Honestly, this is the best Chili's I have been to! Treasa at the bar is AMAZING! After one visit she remembered my drink and food preferences! She is so friendly and polite! And so is "the bald guy" (I hate to say that.. but that's what he called himself ) I have received nothing but OUTSTANDING service at this location in Kerrville and every single time I have visited (over 5 times in the past 3 weeks) the service, quality of food, and quality of bar drinks has been EXCEPTIONAL. I left my jacket one day (and had no clue I left it...) I return about a week later and as soon as I walk in somebody brings me my jacket!! Impressive!!!!!! The restaurant is clean and has a nice presentation. I have yet to enjoy the patio (cold weather) but the views and scenery at this Chili's FAR supersede any other Chili's I have been to. We had a family get together last night there! The waitress was amazing she was on it! Aside from that the food was very disappointing! Salad was warm steak just ok and broccoli good! How is this place still in business with the horrible service they are providing!? The only good thing is the river view from their patio. We eat at Chili's all over the place & usually it's dependable. On our first visit we had a bad experience with a takeout order but gave them a second chance only to have an even worse experience. We tried talking with a manager to let him know about our problems & that was a joke. This guy needs a job where he doesn't have to talk to customers. Despite the negative reviews, my husband and I's experience wasn't too terribly bad; our waitress Kari was very sweet and really made sure our food was good and that we were happy. The only downside for me was with the kitchen. I ordered nachos and sweet potato fries. They were both really really good but presentation was horrible at best. I didn't find any hairs or anything like that but the paper in my basket of fries was nearly off the basket and hanging out, not centered at all. And my nachos weren't in any particular order, rather the bare part of the chips facing outward, they were all strewn everywhere with many piled on one another. I will definitely be back again, because the food and waitstaff were great- just the food presentation is a hands down. read more

We went in for lunch and the woman at the hostess stand (seemed to be a manger but not sure. Different shirt than the servers.) She immediately said "Ok we have this card with a code on it you have to scan for the menu." Now I am smart enough to figure out there is a reason they are telling us this before we ever get seated. They have obviously had push back on this and are trying to avoid even seating someone who is not going to agree to scan the code. I said 'What if someone doesn't have a phone that will do that?" (Kerrville has a large elderly population and they don't all have phones that can scan a Q code.) She said "Sorry." I said I didn't wish to risk uploading Malware to my phone so we would leave. She didn't seem concerned. She could have said, "Well if you know what you want, you can just let us know." Anything to show she cared about the people who had just walked in planning to give her some of our money. But nope. Previously we had a problem with the host seating a party of 5 at a 4 top right next to us, not observing the 6 ft rule. The person on the end of the table was in the aisle and about 2 ft from us. During that visit, we also had a salad with grilled chicken that was barely cooked - white and slimy and we were afraid to eat it. The manager that night said the chicken seemed fine. I have been going to Chili's since the original location on Greenville Ave in Dallas. I have ordered this particular salad for years and never have seen the chicken presented in this way. Service has been nice. We have always had friendly, nice servers who seem to want to go out of there way to take care of us. I feel if the staff cannot be trusted to wipe down laminated menus or discard paper menus (cheap to produce) after single use, then should I trust them to prepare and serve my food? The covid issue has shown us which businesses want to keep their customers and which ones cannot be bothered. In Kerrville, we have had consistent excellent service and great food at Francisco's, Mamacita's and Billie Gene's. Never have to send anything back. Never have to look for your server. Managers/Owners at these places are sincerely considerate of their customers. I did just leave a review on The Lakehouse and we will avoid that place going forward. Now we know where to dine out - now and in future - and which ones to avoid like the plague . . . or the coronavirus. read more

Chili's in Kerrville always has great waiters and waitresses and their food is consistently pretty good. I normally spend about 50 dollars when my wife and I go so for a family you might be able to find better quality if your gonna spend that amount. This is your typical Chili's. The food is just as good as any other Chili's. The service is not any worse or any better than any other Chili's I have been to. What makes this place stand out is the view! Being from out of town the views are what bring me back to this place time and time again. Most unprofessional company I've worked for can't even help their employees. People constantly touching the food with their bare hands and serving it to people. On my brothers last day of working there he was trying to do things slow and steady so he wouldn't mess up anyone's order. The manager Val kept rushing and rushing him and messing up his tables orders. Then he told the manager if I don't get any help I'm gonna leave and she told him "if you leave never come back" so he left and she decided to make the comment "see ya never" as he was about to walk out. Chilis curbside service has been great.... we actually prefer curbside to precovid dine in- service was not so great. We hadnt had chilis in over a year but the curbside was appealing. I have not been to this particular location since early October of 2011. The only reason I went that time was because it was late, I was in Wedding Planning Hell, had just spent a day with My Mother and desperately needed a drink. Last night, My Husband and 12 year-old Son went to dinner there. I was pleased there was not a wait. We were seated quickly. I deposited my purse and headed for the restroom (FILTHY) and returned to our table to find our waiter (let's call him.... Patrick) sitting between My Husband and Son (and moments later, directly across from me). However, he was not just sitting... He was sitting on the backrest of the chair, one foot IN the chair, and his crotch right at about eye-level. In the South it is generally accepted for a Woman to be called "Hon, Darlin'" or the like -- However, when your waiter is sitting with his ass on the chair back, his crotch at eye-level and his foot about 8" from the surface of the table, being called "Sweetie" just didn't give me any kind of warm feelings. It was just plain skeezy. We ordered our appetizers and drinks which he brought out promptly -- However, while he was obnoxiously schmoozing, he managed to dribble two of our drinks contents across the table which we cleaned up with napkins as he seemed COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS. The food was as you would expect in a Chili's Restaurant. My Guacamole Burger had zero flavor, the meat was well-done (not medium rare), and the 'grilled' jalapenos looked and tasted as if they had come out of a can and had NEVER seen a grill. Cold, flavorless, boring. It sat in my gut all night like a rotten, living being that refused to digest. My Son had the 9" Pepperoni Pizza and seemed happy enough, though I suspect part of it might have been the endless glass of Dr. Pepper that sat in front of him (and to the left of our waiter's genitals). My Husband had the Bacon Cheeseburger which was also over-cooked. While we were eating, two older ladies came and sat down at the table next to us. The same waiter came to their table and stood, with his hips thrust forward and proceeded to chat them up in the same skeezy manner. I was relieved for them that he did not 'have a seat' on their table (chair backs) as well! I know that as a server in an eating establishment you have to put on a certain amount of charm, a bit of a show, and have a large personality if you want to make those tips! I get that... But this guy just came across as plain creepy. I'm interested in eating and having my drink kept full... Not on what you have in your pants, Pal. Man where to begin...well me and my family have been to several chili's in several locations but this one is not one we will be returning to sad to say. I wanted to take my family for a meal and thought chili's would be an ideal place somewhere nice and yet not to pricey. Upon arriving everything seemed normal we were seated with a server named Kris near the bar area, I mean he put on a smile and gave his spill but a blind man could see he wasn't being real. As the evening went one he seemed to get more stressed which hey I understand it's a stressful environment what I don't understand is watching him go up to the host stand and chew out the little girl it was an ugly scene (there is a way to communicate with others, when you have a problem and that was not it) he then went back to his tables all sugar and spice, not so nice if you ask me. To follow up on that negative energy, the bartender at the time I believe her name was a Treasa or something also seemed to be struggling in her area, every few minutes I'd observe her seeming distressed followed by bad mouthing the other costumers to herself and other co-workers. I'm not saying I don't get it after all it is a stressful job serving, but there is a time and a place. I wish I could say the energy stopped there, but throughout our meal there was a younger blonde girl I think I over heard her name to be Alexus who was continuously shouting at the cooks and the staff in a most immature and unprofessional manner I mean I get that she's young but in this line of work some level of professionalism should be taught yes? Her shouting is all we could here during our meal. I finally asked to speak with a manager as another server had passed by and they later came back to tell me the manger was busy. I said thank you and figure okay must be important, not even 5 minutes later the manager comes up to the bar area and proceeded to lean against the wall and play on her phone with the bartender for some time. I took my family here to share in a positive memory and left with the same negative energy the entire building seemed to be filled with, it was disappointing to say the least. The one good thing I can say about this place is when I had come in by myself a few days before it was the morning I had a complicated to-go order and the bartender was a genuinely kind and considerate man named Anthony and the manager at the time was a most helpful man named Chris the two made me feel most welcomed and well taken care of. I was offered a seat and a drink while I waited and they worked as a team to get me my order out hot and fresh. It was a completely different atmosphere it was positive and inviting which is exactly why I wanted to bring my family in. What sets this Chili's apart from others is the location. Adjacent to the beautiful Guadalupe River which flows through the heart of Kerrville, you can request a river-view table or, in nice weather, be seated outside and enjoy the Hill Country weather. The menu is standard Chili's, so no need to comment on that, but you're sure to enjoy the view. I went in for lunch today at the chili's in kerrville. They were pretty busy and I'm an observant person. As I was waiting for my lunch I was looking around and noticed one of the managers seating people,bussing tables,running food, AND greeting tables. She was very attentive and kept her composure the whole time. As I was finishing my lunch and the rush slowed down. I stopped her and I asked her what her name was and she told me Valeen. I told Valeen she needed a raise because she was a great manager and did a great job. The food was really good and prompt. The service was excellent as well.
