There's a guy who works the bar side with a long beard. Whoever he is needs a training in customer service and learn how to be personable. I frequent this Chili's location since I work nearby. I order the same plate everytime I go and have never had any issues customizing my order a bit. It's never anything crazy, I just ask for there not to be an abundance of garlic on my late. I have never had any issues in the past with this request. All of the wait staff in the past had no issues asking the kitchen to go light with the garlic. This guy for some reason started spewing off excuse after excuse as to why it couldn't be done. Rather than going to the kitchen first to see if it's okay, he starts feeding me a bunch of BS even though I had told him it's never been an issue in the past that theyve always done that for me. He kept going on and on nonstop with the excuses that now he's made it awkward for me and my friend. I told him don't worry about since he wants to make it difficult. He leaves and comes back just to reiterate to me that even though he supposedly spoke to the cooks that it's not possible and kept bothering me about it. I'm sure I said "it's fine" 10 times in a row and he would not shut up Finally when I got my plate....oh wala! They went light on the garlic for me. Probably the worst service I've ever had. 15 minutes to be greeted, server greets and takes food and drink order, 10 minutes later server comes back to say there's no sprite that my wife ordered, 5 minutes later get our drinks. A recent visit to the Lewisville Chili's has us speechless. We were extremely thrown off when we entered the restaurant, greeted by a not so friendly hostess then instructed a robot named "Rita" was going to seat us. The hostess walked around "Rita" to hand us our menus then the server walked back around "Rita" to punch in booth number on robots screen. We literally took 8 steps to the booth. We had such puzzled looks on our faces when our server approached our table. Thankful for our serve having such a wonderful attitude and attentive nature. I really wanted to give 1 star, but upgraded to 2, because the manager on duty tonight was apologetic and submitted a request for a refund. We placed a curbside order online and ordered a bowl of chili and salad, and a hamburger. Placing the order and picking it up was easy. When we got home with the food, however, everything was downhill. The "bowl" of chili was a small container, not even half full of chili. The majority of what was in that tiny container was tortilla strips (see picture.) I was also confused on the tortilla strips, because I visited another location a few weeks ago, and they said Chili's went back to their old recipe, which doesn't include tortilla strips. So, whatever. I called the manager and told him I wanted a refund, which he submitted, but since the order was online, it has to go through corporate accounting. In other words, he himself could not process the refund and had to leave the floor to go to the backoffice to take care of it. For all the advertising they do for the convenience of online ordering, they really need to figure out how to process immediate refunds and make it easier for managers. But again, whatever. Hubs burger was terrible too. The meat was weird and seemed old or something. A grilled burger looks a certain way, but the meat on this burger has a weird grayish hue. Kind of reminded me of a school cafeteria burger...gross. I didn't call the manager back on the burger, so we still paid for that. When you're dining in, you can QC your food yourself and have the option of sending it back to make it right. When you order online and do curbside pickup, it's implied that the order should be checked for quality control to ensure customers don't make it all the way home, only to learn they have crap. Either QC thought this was acceptable, or nobody took the time to check our order. Either way, they lose my business. Tired of restaurants cutting corners and thinking subpar food that we spend our hard-earned money on is acceptable. read more

Met a group of coworkers/friends here for a happy hour / farewell thing and we had SO MUCH FUN. Not only were the staff super friendly and very kind to us as we chatted and laughed and cracked jokes, but the drinks were also absolutely delicious. Jalapeno margarita? Ummmm yes please. Also, add in a few triple dippers for the table and we had such a great time. This is by far the worst experience I've had at Chili's. The chicken fajitas tasted like a freezer/skillet meal. The meat was cold in the middle but the plate was blazing, smoking hot. It was not at all what I expected or even resembled the picture on the menu. When I went to catch Preston's attention to let him know, he was no where to found. It was only when I flagged down another server, that he came over to us. When he arrives at the table to present our checks, he was so interested to know if it was cash or card. My friend paid cash. I really think comparatively this chili's has a bad yelp rating, now I understand why. As far as brand sit down family Restaurants, I enjoy chili's- it has pretty decent food and restaurant are generally modern and clean. Only reason I'm throwing this review out here is the bartender was really rude for no reason- pretty sure he was just putting on a show. I don't like drinks at chili's served in their gargantuan margarita and martini glasses- I asked the server if I could just have in a Rocks glass. Bartender comes over and asks why the change in glass and wanted to confirm what glass type, he was being extra rude about it. My wife and I looked at each other puzzled on why the attitude- told him rocks, as he was walking away I said not to worry about it since we were heading out anyway - very sharply responded that he already made it. Why ask them what kind of glass then if you already made it? Fine you made your point. I asked the manager over to our table, to her credit she was concerned and very apologetic. I have rarely if ever complained about a rude server/bartender to management before. This was at noon on a Sunday- church lunch crowd and I don't understand why the attitude. We decided to go to Chili's for burgers & chz fries. The wait was 20-30 minutes, it's always worth the wait but not this time. Everything went wrong, all the way to the end of the meal. Our appetizer was wrong, our drinks took about 15 minutes to come out. I got regular fries with my burger instead of my chz fries. The manager apologized for the mistake and still managed to get my chz fries wrong. I said no onions but I got no onions and no bacon. At that point I couldn't even eat my burger anymore due to all the mistakes. It's time to pay and they charged me for a drink that was returned, it needed to be removed. Very disappointed in them. Last night was my worst visit to Chilis ever. There was four of us. We waited on our food for a hour and a half. The waiter couldn't give us a update. Finally we called a manager over giving everyone plenty of time to get our food out to us. But by that point we waited way long enough. So the manager came over, asked if he could help us and we told him how long we had been waiting and he told us everyone has been waiting that long and the food was almost ready. Wait a minute, I really don't need to hear I'm not the only one waiting on food. That's the best you can do or say? Then today I called to try and talk to the Day manager about what happened and I waited on the phone for ten mins, still no answer, it was 2:00 in the afternoon. They dropped chicken fried steak from the menu! NOOOOOO!!!!!!! I have been going to Chili's to get their chicken fried steak for a couple of decades, they make the best one of any of the fast/casual restaurants in the USA. Nationally they dropped chicken fried steak from the menu many years ago, but kept it as an option in southern states where there are many fans of the dish. Now today I go in and it's no longer available. I am crushed. Chili's chicken fried steak was large, good quality meat inside and a super crispy batter on the outside. And the gravy was exceptional for a fast/casual place. I think management of the chain is making a terrible mistake taking it off the menu. Personally, I will never set foot in a Chili's again because the rest of their food is unremarkable and can be had at a multitude of fast casual restaurants. Goodbye, Chili's!
