Horrible, went here on Wednesday 28/2015 January around 4pm. It was little empty. There server was ok but talked too much. Ordered food, and glasses of plan water. Omg, water came in dirty glasses. One glass had blue scam on it another was plain dirty. Asked there server to get coke instead but the coke also came dirty glasses. Told the server that glass is dirty and asked for bottled water. Ok , so now comes two bottles of water, one with label and another.. without. When food came, it was dry, ....and food didn't come on trays but server just came with two plates of food. Also mits were flying at the table. To be honest, I was with my district manager, I manage a hotel..., service was overall bad. I will still say the server tried his best to do his work, but sometimes the harder you try the worse it becomes. read more

The burger looked and tasted like it was machine molded, par-cooked in a steam bag in Detroit, then re-heated on a grill in Pleasanton. The cheese steak tasted like a vending machine sandwich, microwaved in a bag, and tossed on a plate. It took a few visits to wipe out the goodwill this chain used to have with me. Poor Service: Although our server was fairly attentive, she made several significant errors, and exhibited an attitude that my wife and I felt was insincere, careless, and rather unprofessional. Chilies is one of my favorite "chain" restaurants but it don't like to eat here often. (I know its a oxymoron). This particular restaurant is just "ok". Their service is slow but acceptable and their food borders on "meh" and "ok". I would come back if there was a group of coworkers coming but would not automatically think of coming here for lunch. OK caveat here is we did get to go. -1 star for the artichoke dip tasting slightly like gasoline and being so unpalatable that even with hot sauce and a good supply of beer it still tasted like diesel. -1 star for lazy ass cooks. We got the set of 4 sliders. They literally didn't even bother to break the set of rolls apart. They took a foursome set of buns slapped the middle parts in put on the top and wrapped it up. It literally was ridiculous. i know its "Just a to go order" but come on. -1 star for the lack of flavor in the mini Philly cheese steaks and the overcooked chicken crisper/wing type things. I'm usually disappointed by the food and service at chain casual dining restaurants, but the food and service at Chili's is actually quite good. I was surprised when I found out that Chili's and On the Border (a restaurant that I was not impressed by) were owned by the same company. I only get burgers and ribs at Chili's, and try some appetizers when other people order them. Their burgers are thick, juicy, flavorful, and filling. Their famous ribs are moist, tender, and delicious. Their fries are decent, and their various appetizers are all pretty tasty. I've always left Chili's full and satisfied. We will NEVER eat here again. The couple in line before us brought their dog in with them. Their comment to us was "It is the only restaurant that allows us to bring our dog in with us." The dog was NOT a service dog. Didn't even have an intimation vest on. After waiting a long time to be seated, we asked not to be seated by the dog. They Manager claimed that the dog was a service dog. An obvious lie. The wait to be seated was also unjustified, as it was 4 p.m., not a busy time of the day. Once we were seated we noticed food particles on our table, and the surrounding tables as well. The buser had just wiped the tables down when we were seated. And the floor was also a mess. My wife ordered a Long Island Ice Tea. It was more of a Sweet & Sour Tea. The drink was credited back on our bill. Ordered appetizers, while we made our dinner selection. Waiter asked if we wanted our appetizers before our dinner. Well, Duh! Less than 1 minute after being served our appetizers we also received our dinner. Both the appetizers and dinners were cold, not even cool, but cold. The butter didn't even melt on the corn. Ok, so let me start out by saying that if I were rating this place as a normal restaurant, it would be a 2-3 star. HOWEVER, rating it against other Chili's and understanding that fact that they aren't trying to sell you 5-star food, I give it a 4! Too many people are writing stuff like "2 star because the food is horrible, tastes forzen!" Honestly, anyone in the right mind already knows that a place like Chili's (and applebees, etc.) doesn't not cater to people looking for ingredients from the local farmers market, so take that into consideration! My daughter and I were out doing a little shopping and she asked for Chili's. Instead of going to ours in Livermore and backtrack back out to Pleasanton I searched for the nearest and found this one. I was dubious on the rating and comments, but we decided to go anyway. There were a lot of little things that lead to my 2 star review. The one thing that keeps me from dipping to 1 star is the staff who were cheerful and friendly. 1. Slow to be seated (but the hostess was really friendly & upbeat). 2. Slow to be acknowledged in our booth and have our order taken (but the server was friendly and upbeat). 3. Our appetizer seemed to be taking quite a while (10m) and if there's one thing I don't like is ordering an appetizer that comes WITH our entree. Once I was able to get our server's attention and inquire the appetizer came right out. I know our server was busy with a large table, but they do have runners because our food arrived about 5m after our appetizer by a runner. 4. My daughter's burger was missing avocado which she ordered with the burger. We had to wait a few minutes to get our server's attention and for that to arrive while our food got cold. 5. My Margarita Mexican Bowl was lackluster. It tasted like they forgot the sauce or seasonings. At least it did not compare flavor-wise to the one I had at the Livermore location. 6. I went to pay our bill using the Ziosk thingamagjigger and found that our bill was twice what it should be... the burger and Mexican bowl were charged twice. 7. Finally got server's attention and he said he'd fix it. I expected he'd return to say it was fixed, but after 5 minutes I realized he wasn't and decided to try again. 8. There was a booth 3 away from ours where there had CLEARLY been young children dining. There was food all over the table, under the table and in the walkway. I slipped on a smashed french fry or some other food on my way to the restroom. 9. The women's bathroom is an accident waiting to happen. It is cramped and the door opens in to the right while the two stalls open left INTO the entrance door. I almost took out a woman trying to egress her bathroom stall. We had to do a dance around each other and the doors so I could get in and she could wash her hands. Nothing catastrophic, but a lot of little things that added up to a less than thrilling experience. read more

I really don't mind of you putting a self-serve tablet on each table. But PLEASE don't charge your customer using the tablet. I understand that the slow service due to short staffs, can totally use the tablet for ordering food, drinks , refills and pay my check. How can you NOT having any signage of charging 99 cents entertaining fee ( I know it's nothing) by playing the games inside. Or it could be my 4 year old by pass it while I reading the menu. I just recently went here for lunch and the food was a 4-star experience (once we got it all) and the service was only a 2-star experience, so I'm giving it 3-stars. We sat in the bar and it looked like there was only one server working the entire bar area. Not a good idea considering that people are there on their lunch and typically are in a hurry. We ordered our food, I ordered their New Spicy Santa Fe Chicken Salad and my co-worker ordered the Fajitas. We also ordered some Chips and Salsa. The Chips and Salsa came out promptly, than the rest of the timing on the food was just off! My salad came out first, than my co-workers sizzling fajita's came out about 10 minutes later w/out all her sides and tortillas. As we waiting, and chit chatted, we continued to watch the server serve food to other tables, about 10 minutes later, we finally flagged the server down and asked for the rest of my co-workers fajita plate. You can tell by the look on the server's face that they had clearly forgotten, they hurry back to the kitchen and bring out her sides and tortillas. We can now eat our food. I have to admit, the NEW Spicy Santa Fe Chicken Salad was pretty good. The chicken was a tad bit over cooked for my liking, but with the extra dressing, it worked out. The dressing itself was spicy and wonderful. The chunks of avocado worked perfectly with all the flavors of the pico de gallo and ranch dressing. I would definitely order that salad again, especially since I like a little spice in my food. Now if they could only fix the service, it would have been a 4-star experience. read more

How is it that I've been to Chili's 3 times since I've said "i never really go to Chilis"? Well, I will say that their presidente margarita is so delicious that I long to sip a few in my leisure time. However, I will also say that out of the four times I've been here recently service gets a failing grade. Two out of four servers have been good. One was a lady at the bar on a Sunday, very attentive and friendly. Another was a guy I went to high school with named Nick, and he was good too. The other two were soooo inattentive. I could feel myself getting angry today after it took FOREVER for my salad and soup to make it to our table. Our receipt said that our server's name was icarly. We didn't plan on going to Chili's for lunch today but ended up walking in after having had a disappointing experience at Eddie Papa's which is across the parking lot (see other review for Eddie Papa's). We weren't disappointed at Chili's. Chili's isn't necessarily a first choice of mine but has always been pretty consistent. We were immediately seated and our waitress came right over and took our orders. I had the chicken wrap and my boyfriend had a shaved turkey sandwich, egg rolls for appetizers. I've been here many times and have always had a great time. The wait staff are always the nicest with some of them being super stars, for instance my waiter tonight Sean was super attentive and checked on me multiple times. He was there in a flash to refill my sister's drink when it was empty and even though you could tell he was tired from his long shift he never slacked. The other shout out I'd like to give is to the manager Vivian who was extremely sweet and down to earth. She made sure to come up to every table and say something personable as well as ask how everything is. I don't know how this place could have such low scores with such a great staff. read more

Came to eat after a long day at work. Was very skeptical of coming to this location because it only has 2 1/2 stars. I should have listened to my gut because the food was horrible. My drink had a piece of food in it and I told the waitress and she came back and just gave me the same dirty cup just new sprite in it. Once I got my food I instantly noticed a weird tase in both the pasta and bread like if you left in a fridge without covering and just heated it up tasted so bad. We came here with our 2 boys on a "pre-move" trip. Originally from NM, we were looking for a familiar setting for our kids to eat from and chilis was the only thing around that we also had back home. It really is your typical chilis. We came in around 3pm so it wasn't too busy. I'd say about 1/4 of the tables were full. Same food, same layout, same decor as all the rest but our waitress was absolutely outstanding! She was so kind and friendly, actually got down to our kids levels and asked what they wanted. She even was kind enough to answer all my husbands questions about the area we were looking at moving to. And it wasn't only her, EVERYBODY here seemed like they were genuinely happy to work there. The food was good and came out quick. Our drinks were filled as they were finished and they even gave our boys free ice cream. Awesome atmosphere at this chilis. Will definitely recommend to anyone. read more

My bf and I were in town visiting and we came here right as they were closing and they were nice and served us anyway. They gave us extra sauce and everything we needed, and it was typical Chili's quality food. So disappointing. We walked in no other patrons waiting for seating but we waited 5 minutes before someone acknowledged our presence and offered to seat us. We sat at our table for another five minutes before we we given a menu. Finally someone came by to take our drink order and were told the machine had been broken for a few days and no soda was available. We then ordered beverages and our meals. The food came reasonably fast but fries were cold. No water was offered or delivered. No sever came by to ask if we needed anything or inquire if everything was ok. Drinks were not refilled After waiting for the bill with no server in sight I got up and asked some employee for our bill. I waited another 5 minutes and it finally arrived. Can get crowded here, but hey it's a Chilis. Everytime we've gone the food has been good. Service can be slow, but we've liked all the waiters/waitresses. If you go in and know that they are going to be busy, you'll be fine. I love the baby back ribs. (You know that jingle is in your head now!) They ALWAYS screw up something on the ToGo order, so my advise is check your bag before you leave. I mean, stand at the counter and open every container they give you. Something will be f'ed up so save yourself the trouble and do it while you have someone's attention. Nothing makes this location stand out as far as Chilis go. There's plenty of parking, although the close one are tough to get. If our ToGo experiences have been better, I would have given it more stars, but 3 seems right. read more

I ate here the other night, and I was only mildly amused. We went in a group of 10. Everyone ordered a regular beverage, and some people ordered alcohol. We ordered 9 dishes, and 3 appetizers. The appetizers came really quikly, and they were alright. Then the alcohol was refilled. After that, 7 of the main dishes came out. Then the alcohol was refilled again. about 5 minutes after that the last two dishes arrived. Then they offered alcohol refills again. After that, we had to flag down the waiter to refil the nonalcoholic beverages. Twenty Minutes later, the bill arrived. Seeing that the place wasn't all that busy, the service was mediocre. And I know that nonalcoholic beverages have free refils, but COME ON! I was freakin' thirsty! Heaven forbid, i expect to get a refill. read more

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants and hadn't been to Chili's since I was about 13. My brother in law and his family took us to dinner and this is what they chose, so we headed over. Since I had to work late, I was forced to make a snap decision on what to order. I had my mini foodie in the back seat, and when they mentioned Chili's he perked up. "Isn't that the BabyBack BabyBack BabyBack place?" Yes it was. This child ate his way through the San Luis Obispo farmer's market, critiquing ribs. He's a true conniseur. I told hubby to go ahead and get us an order to share. Hubby didn't listen and instead got me my own order and a rib kid's meal for my son. How cool is that? Rib kid's meals??? And they weren't bad. Not at all, especially considering the price. Hubby and BIL got bacon bleu cheese burgers and those looked really good! My sister in law asked for the dessert menu. We passed. She ordered a Molten Chocolate cake. When it came, it looked so good with that big scoop of ice cream on top that we were suddenly unfull and had to have one too. The three of us shared it and my hormones wanted me to scoop it up from in front of the other two and have it all to myself. I was really happy that the bartender tended to my needs. Typically when I go in I get the salmon the last few times I have been getting the shrimp tacos which I really enjoyed both of those but I was kind of burnt out on them so I wanted to try something new that didn't exist on the menu which was making salmon tacos instead of shrimp at first the bartender was like let me look that up and see how much it is. she told me the price I said wow that's crazy she said hold on let me talk to my manager then she went talk to her manager and ended up making it happen for me I was really excited with the outcome of this visit to Chili's. read more

UPDATE: I'm giving an additional star because I experienced really great service the last two times. The Black Bean Burger is very filling (29 gm of fiber!) and relatively healthy. I still don't care for the haughtiness of some of the staff, and some of the patrons. Chili's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. That being said, this is the worst Chili's branch I have ever been to. (Well, actually I've been to two other bad locations, but they just opened so I don't count them.) I've been to the Pleasanton location numerous times and I have never fully enjoyed it. Many of the workers here are so unprofessional, from the door person to the server. I thought it would have changed over time but it didn't. At least that makes them consistent. Food is great as usual. Waiting time is acceptable. read more

The service was good. We had a Cobb salad and a "Quesadallia Explosion" salad and they were ok. The Cobb Salad was basically a fried chicken breast with shredded cheese and chopped egg over lettuce. While it was OK, it was not a Cobb Salad. Both were really overpriced at $9 for MEDIOCRE salad. The good thing about a chain restaurant is that it is usually okay but never great.
