My friend ordered the Huevos Hofbrau and a mocha latte :) ! I have to admit that it is really loud and boisterous on the weekends, much more so than I would like it to be! Because I am really soft-spoken, I would have preferred somewhere that is perhaps not as noisy. If come again, I most likely will try to come either really early in the morning when it first opens, or on a weekday during Happy Hour from 3-6 pm. Despite the noise, the host and hostess up front, as well as our waiter, were very warm and friendly :) ! I would definitely recommend this place :D ! But I just recommend making a reservation, especially for peak hours and weekends!

Last week, The Barn Door announced on Facebook that its final day of service will be Sunday, May 11th (Mother's Day). The Barn Door has been an outstanding steakhouse in the truest sense. They've never relied on gimmicks or culinary trends--they've relied on the tried-and-true flavors that have maintained a loyal clientele for decades. I'm taking about hand-cut, primal cuts of beef grilled over real mesquite, delivering that unmistakable South Texas char. I'm referring to plump, wild-caught shrimp from the Gulf Coast, the famous yeast rolls, and tubs of homemade salad dressings. If you've been there, you know how special the overall experience has been. I've read many heartfelt comments on social media asking why such a successful institution would cease operations. Well, dear reader, I have a unique insight into why. Randy Stokes has poured his heart into the restaurant, but he merely leases the building--not the land--from the Straus family. Approximately seven months ago, Mr. Straus decided to sell the dirt beneath the "Barn" to a real estate developer. The plan? To raze this historic site and erect modern condos. It's a familiar story of urban expansion, but it doesn't make the loss any easier to swallow. But before we close the door on "The Barn" forever, a glimmer of hope looms on the horizon. Randy Stokes and his team aren't necessarily hanging up their aprons for good. According to a reliable anonymous source, the team has expressed a desire to reopen The Barn Door at a new location, with eyes set currently on the city's North Side. Our server was absolutely phenomenal--friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome and her name is Hope. So I can not believe my visit today. We sat with Cory and Lia in the bar area and everything was just perfect! Cory was always smiling and happy I just couldn't help but smile back! The food was hot and quick and tasted amazing! Shout out to the cooks! The thing that amazed me the most was the manager walked us to the car under an umbrella because it was pouring down rain! In fact we watched him walk so many people to their vehicles, it was by far the greatest act of customer service I've seen. He deserves multiple raises! Everything was tasty, and the salsa was really good. I especially loved their creamy jalapeño sauce with the chips--it had just the right kick! The red sauce was also really good. The chicken was very rubbery Still it was a real fun night even though the place wasn't full the cheering and talking to our neighboring tables was a lot of fun! I highly recommend this place to go watch sports whenever they show them on the big screen

ugh. This was so good…read more We arrived to have the place to ourselves. I was asked to sit wherever I wanted. Menus were immediately offered and my drink order was taken. Fast and efficient, if you ask me. Soon after, my boyfriend joined me and so did our friends. Everyone at the table enjoyed their margaritas. The water though- top notch! We scarfed down the chips which were salty, crispy delights. The green salsa was delicious... I might have finished it. The enchiladas verdes were really tasty. Actually, I don't know if they were so tasty or I was that hungry. But they were gone in no time. The chicken was nicely cooked, the sauce was creamy and tangy and the green salsa I added to it over the top. The restaurant has tvs that were broadcasting an award show with festive music. It was not too loud that we couldn't enjoy the conversation. The staff checked on us a few times, but basically left us alone. I'll say that the tortillas looked amazing so I can't wait to try the breakfast tacos!

06 Oct 2025 Went for…read morea late lunch today about 2pm. Their lunch specials run until 3pm, so we both had the carne guisada plate special for $10. The plate came with the meat, rice and beans and some salad and tortillas. The meat was so tender and the rice and beans so fresh as usual. The service was exemplary. Refills for our drinks and asking if we needed anything. Go there.
