This is delicious spinach dip that contains no spinach (the green stuff is cilantro) Chilis food is always delicious, as it was again tonight. The restaurant & the bar were not even half full. So 1st we didnt get straws or utensils. We ordered our appetizer (spinach dip) a burger and fajitas. (1/2 shrimp, 1/2 steak.)They were out of shrimp so he asked me if I wanted 1/2 chicken. I asked for all steak. After 20 minutes of no appetizer and no straws, I went to the bar and got the straws myself. 20 more minutes of no appetizer and listening to 2 other tables complain about their food taking too long, our food finally arrived: 2 orders of half chicken and 1/2 steak fajitas. I reminded him that I ordered a Southern Smokehouse burger and an all steak fajitas and that we still didn't have an appetizer. 20 minutes later we got 2 orders of all steak fajitas and no burger. I was in shock because the waiter had actually read my burger order back to me but still brought 2 fajitas. They also had my spinachless spinach dip. Since when does your appetizer come WITH your meal? My order was wrong again but at least we had something to eat even if it was made wrong. Another 15 minutes later I finally got my burger with no BBQ sauce and my daughter got her re-heated steak fajitas with no beans and no sour cream/guacamole. The waiter said, he'd be right back with the beans. Had to also ask for utensils again. By this time we needed refills on our drinks for the last 15 minutes so I took it upon myself to take my empty glass to the bar where she was very happy to refill my drink. I asked for the sour cream/guac and the beans and BBQ sauce and he came back with just the sour cream/guac. At this point I just gave up. When we finished eating he asked if we needed anything and I reminded him that he never brought the beans and BBQ sauce. He ran to go get them even though I told him not to bother. We left them there untouched. Even after all that, the food was delicious and who can be mad at that? What I didn't like was when he brought the check he said "Sorry about all the trouble. I don't know what's they are doing back there is the kitchen." He totally blamed the kitchen and did not take ownership. In case you're wondering, I did tip 15% because I'm not trying to "teach him a lesson" like some people try to do. I work close by. I decided to go with my colleagues to eat on our lunch break. We ordered 2 items off the lunch menu, a side salad and a side of sausage. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and about an hour for our food. We couldn't get service for the life of us. The few workers we saw would just walk by. I even called out, "Hey I'm going to be late to work!" No response. The side of sausage I ordered that I've ordered many times before came. It was the tip of 9 other people's sausages thrown on a plate. Gross! I know they were not from that day because I doubt that many people ordered that meal since it was only noon!! Tonight my girlfriend and I decided to have a small dessert with coffee. We decide to come to out local restaurant. We sat in the bar, it took some time before we got acknowledged. We wanted a large molten chocolate cake, we were told they did not have any. So we order two small ones. It took about 25 minutes to get it. Then when I got my coffee, I was told they had no creamer and if I wanted milk instead. Waited another 5 minutes for the milk. Then I waited another 5 min for a stir. Probably the worst chili's I've been to. Even though the place wasn't super busy, the service was horrible. They sent us 2 of the same order, got o e order wrong, my margarita was all sweet n sour, I felt like I drank a glass of sugar, the employees were nice but the restraint just seems like it's ran very unorganized. Orders were coming out very late in between each other (we had a table of 10), were even missing a couple of items, my chicken wasn't hot when my fajitas came out and tasted like rubber. I've always enjoyed eating at Chillis, unfortunately this was my last time. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender "Kevin". He was a good guy and took our appetizer/beer order right away. Keep in mind the whole place was lonely (2:30-3:00p) so we expected everything to go smooth. We ordered an order of smoked chicken wings, wow they were raw. Kevin took them back and took them off our bill. At this point our main course had already been ordered, an hour later we finally got our food. My wife had chicken/steak fajitas, steak tasted really undercooked. We shared my plate, it was the mix/match plate with a soft taco, enchilada and a tostada. My plate was pretty good, however I have never had a piece of Hamburger bread on a tostada (no Bueno). By then, my wife and I were over trying to enjoy our lunch.. We wanted to leave but couldn't cause we still had our beers to finish. Overall this was my worst experience with Chillis.. This is usually my go to spot for a quick late night bite and drinks after my girl gets off work since she works down the street. I come in today for happy hour and try to order buffalo wings bone in. But come to find out it's only the "smoked" wings bone in that are $5 not the one's with the Buffalo sauce. Very disappointing, on top of them getting rid of their creamy jalapeño sauce for the wings. Tried the two other sauces before hand honey Chipotle and their "new" fiery pepper (which replaced the creamy jalapeno) but liked neither because of the sweetness to them. The server did offer to get me the smoked wings on happy hour with the sauce on the side but I declined since their smoked wings are already seasoned with some dry seasoning of some sort. Just the food was not what I wanted, change of menu sucks when the items you usually go eat there are removed and replaced with sugar. The server (Frankie) was one of the best ones, actually great that we've had at that location though by the way. If you want EXELLENT service here at this chilies, hands down you need to request for BRIAN. I ate there with my wife on 1/23/16 first my Coke was flat then we had the chips and salsa the chips were not crispy and had lots of oil on them. We told the waiter and he new they had a problem with the chips probably a fryer problem. Then I got the fajitas when they arrived they didn't come sizzling. I know that might not be a surprise for some; but we went early afternoon when it wasn't too busy and our waitress just couldn't get it together. Even though I live close to the Whittier chili's I usually drive the extra 10 minutes to the La Habra location. The service at this Whittier location is the worst. And not just once but on three different times. I don't know why I keep going there. I guess I keep hoping it will improve. Do not go to this location unless you like to wait a long time for refills and your food. In addition to the long waits, the food is horrible. You would think this chain restaurant would have set standards on how to prepare and serve food. Food was horrible. Burnt in some places and dripping in grease on others Since we had already waited over 30 minutes and we're hungry we didn't leave. Big mistake. We should have left.
