I ordered food by phone & received horrible service via phone & I was told it would take about 30-40 minutes - Long story short- It took about An hour & 40 minutes & I called a few times to see what was the order status and the guy who picked up had an attitude with me and said call back later. After the long wait the food was delivered, and the guy asked for a tip and me and my co worker we pretty upset with them and we opened the bag and notice they were missing utensils and a plate of food was missing to. There was no tip and the guy said call the store he is just a delivery guy. We called the store back and gave them the complaints and was close to demanding a full refund for there lack of service and good quality. But the girl who picked up was apologetic and and sent out someone else with the replacement order in 15 mins. While that was fresh the rest of the food wasn't. Very terrible management and service and poor food quality. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant after their repeated mishaps. read more

The pad thai was super, super sweet in not a good way. The rad nah was okay...while I was eating, these two ladies were at the door raving about how this was the best Thai food they've had. And I thought, What the hell are they talking about?, while I pushed around my food. This place is not great for vegans but it's not bad either. They have a "vegetable lovers" section on the menu, and they can do some things vegan. I usually get the yellow curry and the pad thai, and I am clear to ask for no egg and no fish sauce. There has never been a problem before but the other day my pad thai came to my table with egg. There was a lot of egg, but it was under the noodles so I didn't see it at first, and I ate some of the dish. When I showed the egg to my server, her knee-jerk reaction was to say that she didn't remember me saying "no egg." When I calmly said that we had certainly discussed it, she looked at the check and saw that she had written down "no egg" on the ticket. Then her tone changed immediately from accusatory to "See, it wasn't my fault, it was the kitchen's fault!" She apologized and brought me a new one without egg. You can imagine if this had happened to someone with an egg allergy. They also didn't take it off my bill. Not that they needed to, but I'd say the majority of restaurants would have, given that they'd just fed egg to a vegan. Mistakes happen, and to me it is all about how a place handles it when one occurs. So three stars for the food, but the rest of the experience brings it down to a two. read more

They use the same cheap cuts of tough meat in every dish and you feel like you're eating a veggie dish with a side of meat most of the time. Me and chili Thai had a good run. BEST Pad See Ew that I've had in West LA. Also, they give you the option to choose the spice level on any dish, which is great. I ordered takeout for a girls night this weekend here because I saw on my RushOrder app they have a $2 discount on a $30 order and a $5 discount on a $50 order if you order using the app. Who doesn't like saving money on delicious food? We ordered the Chilli Thai Hot Wings, Pad Thai with Chicken, Pad See-ew with Beef, Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, and Tofu and Vegetable Curry with Jasmine Rice. The Pad See-ew was amazing, but my surprise favorite was the Chilli Thai Hot Wings. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce was the perfect level of spicy. Whenever I have a craving for Thai food, I check out your menu online and every single savory word evokes a delicious pad thai memory. I tell myself, no, no I will not order from this place ever again, (after all, the last time I ordered Thai tea with no ice, you sent me a cup that was only 3/4ths of the way filled and the bbq special plate had LITERALLY 4 pieces of bite size chicken) but I always order once again. Your coconut mushroom chicken soup brings a smile to my face. Its honestly delicious, finger freakin' lickin' good but I really need to find another place to order from from now on. Ugh... I just ate the food I ordered from here and I don't feel that hot. Let's go over this - delivery took forever, over an hour. I ordered: "Angel Crab" - basically cream cheese and crab stuffed wontons - there were only 4 of them, they were cold, and they tasted old... also . For $1 more you can get a huge order of 10-12 cream cheese wontons at Yohana sushi (they deliver too, at no charge, and they arrive warm). so that sucked. Spicy Mint Leaves with Tofu: everything just tasted old... and looked old... I don't know what they put in their food, but the portion was tiny and I could barely eat any of it before my stomach started hurting. the only thing good about it was that it was actually spicy... but it managed to be bland at the same time. The tofu tasted funny. And there was no way I could force any more of it down my throat. I feel like crap now. Thai Iced Tea - hard to mess that up, it's thai iced tea. Everyone keeps saying it's cheap... it's not *that* cheap. For 4 crappy cheese wontons, a frozen dinner sized entree, and a thai iced tea with delivery it came to $18. I COULD HAVE ORDERED THE SAME THING FROM YOHANA SUSHI, BETTER FOOD, and LARGER PORTIONS FOR LESS! I actually did the math... for the exact same thing I ordered here over there it would be $16... and the food there is gourmet in comparison. It's not that our experience here was horrible. There was nothing particularly bad about it. I understand that it's an inexpensive, local, dive, but even by those standards you can do much, much better. I will admit that the no-frills style and the neon signage are charming in their own way. The papaya salad is quite good, actually (though they were out of the essential sticky rice side). In general, everything about this place is just "ok." As a side note, seeing that this place received an "A" grade from the CA Department of Public Health and then seeing the bathrooms also made me wonder (and shudder a bit) what it takes to get a "B." First time here. Not terrible, but I would stay away from the rice as there were quite a few meal worms/beetles in the serving I got. Apparently they do not wash their rice before cooking (meal worms/beetles are a normal nuisance found in most grains) and it's a little unsettling to see in your food. I brought it to the waitress' attention and asked her to just scoop it off the plate (so it wouldn't mix in with the rest of my food) but when she came back there was a new scoop of rice on my plate and I was assured it was 'fresh' rice. However, right on top of the new scoop was a dead meal worm. SMH. That being said, I got the chicken pad thai special (on the back of the menu) and it was decent, not bad, but I think I'll be going elsewhere for Thai from now on. I was sitting in the office on a Friday afternoon craving some Thai food...so I call Chilli Thai on westwood...MISTAKE! I'm not sure if they don't put in as much effort on take out/delivery orders but this was not the bizness! I ordered a Thai Iced Tea (that's where they got the 2 stars from) -Beef/Chicken Satay: Horrible!! The chicken was damn near burnt...yes all 3 of them. The beef was okay...not as dry as the chicken. You should have seen the chicken there was NO juiciness to it...it was tough to bite. Just a HUGE Disappointment. - I also ordered the Tom Yum Kai(Hot & Sour Soup w/ Chicken)-It was so-so. I had this EXACT same soup from Thai Fresh, and their version was MUCH better. :) Oh and another thing...it took about an hour to get my food. Food poisoning! I've ordered from Chilli Thai several times, always for delivery, and it was always fast, good service. However, two weeks ago, I ordered from Chilli Thai and had epic food poisoning within the hour, from what I'm pretty sure was the coconut soup (I also ordered the coconut curry and the pepper garlic pork a la carte). I suspect the soup because that was what I primarily consumed, while saving the curry and the pork for later. I emailed the next morning to warn them that there was something in soup, and then after I called the next day, the restaurant said that "Nadia" was supposed to get back to me. Two weeks later, I've yet to receive a response. I see from the Yelp reviews that I'm not the first person to suffer food poisoning from this place, but the customer service was non-existent here. I've been going there for the past two months; every week for the Thai buffalo wings and pad see ew.~Hands down are the best in town. What keeps me coming back is the "knock-out delicious food". Unfortunately, the service is lousy. The lady who serves me every week has "attitude" for no apparent reason. I find myself searching and finding a menu, eatery-ware or to-go boxes for myself (and twice, me and my mom). Last time I was here had dinner before the movie and remember I really liked their pineapple fried rice. This time went here for dessert after having dinner nearby. Very inexpensive menu which is conveniently located across the street from Westside Pavillion mall and Arclight Theater. We ended up ordering one of each of their desserts: mango with sticky rice, egg custard with sticky rice, and fried bananas. The fried bananas were really special, they were battered with their homemade tempura, crispy and tasted fresh. Situated across the street from the Westside Pavilion, this is a small Thai restaurant that would get swallowed up in areas with more restaurant muscle such as Sawtelle or Thai Town. Lucky for them I get bored with shopping mall food courts such as the one at Westside Pavilion, and would rather take the time to walk across the street than eat at Panda Express. For lunch I had the spicy beef noodles (not a very colorful name I know) and the chicken satay. The food was not amazing, just average Thai food. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. But the convenience of the location and the fact that they provided friendly service, makes it a sufficient pit stop between errands. read more

I LOVE this place! I can't say that this is authentic, or even close to being the best thai restaurant in LA, but that spicy noodle with extra veggies really gets me going. This is like a fully-loaded pad see ew with a nice, spicy kick. The chicken salad is also pretty delicious. Although the description suggests that the salad is sour due to the dressing, it actually just sour enough to make the salad refreshing. I am not a huge fan of sour taste, so this turned out perfect. Bear in mind that the chicken in the salad is grounded, which may seem weird at first, but it is nevertheless quite delicious. The one dish I would not recommend is the chicken pad thai. The pad thai is decent, but the chicken was too dry. Another small issue with Chilli Thai is that perhaps they skimp on the meat. I always order extra protein, but the meat always seems scarce. There is a chance that Chilli Thai simply does not see the orders, but that is not a much better alternative. read more

I think what keeps this place in busines is that it's close to the Landmark Theaters on the active strip of Pico Blvd. and that it's one of the only Thai places around that area. That is exactly why they got our business shortly before the premier of The Hangover 2... we decided to stick with the whole Bangkok, Thailand theme of the evening. It's as busy as a mini restaurant could be on a Friday night. The food is pretty much on par with any other cheap Thai place... it's a little on the bland side and I don't think that they give you much meat in your dishes. The service is absolutely horrible. I would compare it to the Vietnamese ladies who hate you and are not so secretly talking about you in their native language at the nail salons. Our waitress slammed everything down on the table, muttering what it was as she walked away. At one point, our table of four asked for 1 beer and 1 COLD sake. waitress: "2 beer, 1 sake" table: "no 1 beer, 1 cold sake." waitress: "1 beer, 1 cold sake." table: "yes, thanks." waitress comes back and throws down 1 beer and 1 HOT sake. At least we're a bunch of lushes who don't mind drinking hot sake as opposed to cold. I'm poor. Bottom line. My paychecks disappear faster than the LA summer weather. I need cheap food! I must say I'm not too picky when it comes to food under $7. But I do have expectations. And Chilli Thai definately meets them. I started with the hot and sour soup. It had a very aromatic flavor and the portion was quite large. I also thoroughly appreciated that variety of vegetables, including lemongrass and mushrooms. Yum! I always get a spicy basil, garlic-like dish whenever I eat thai. Today was no exception and "Chilli Thai's most popular dish" left me extremely satisfied. The boyfriend got green curry which was a little too spicy for his taste. I, however, really liked the curry. My only critique was the texture. It was a little too runny and thin compared to other delicious curries I've had, but mixed with a little rice...delicious! My favorite part of my Chilli Thai experience was the price. Under $7 for each entree and a reasonably priced soup was perfect for my post-college budget. We usually order from the other nearby Thai restaurants in the area (so many to choose from on the westside, I know) but the menu said "NO MSG" so it caught my attention right away! We ordered their yellow curry special which comes with rice and an egg roll, red curry a la carte and pad thai... the yellow curry was the only "good" dish... the red curry which we asked to be seasoned "spicy" had chili pepper flakes swimming all over it though so it was spicy all right but no flavor... hence the name, chili thai? I do not know. The pad thai we also ordered, was meh- definitely had better... maybe it's the fact that they cooked it "healthier" and did not use msg? mmm I would like think that, that was not the case... I have to be a little pickier with Thai (and Indian -- and pizza and Chinese, come to think of it) than some other cuisines, if only because it's so dang easy to make it right, even though so many places seem to get it wrong. We chose Chilli Thai based on the fact it is, well, Thai, and conveniently located across the street from the Landmark cinemas. (A full star just for getting us in and out in time for our film.) We were looking for something light and so ordered the veggie fresh rolls and individual soups -- veggie noodle and tofu soup for me, chicken tom ka gai for Laura. Chilli Thai lost half a star based on the fact the fresh rolls weren't as delectable as those at Original Thai (is anything?), seeing as it was lacking tofu, and another half for skimpy portions -- the "four" rolls were actually two split in half, whereas you get a full four at OT. (I'm not Rain Man, it takes more than that to fool me). But the peanut dipping sauce was nummy enough to earn almost a half star. But since I don't give out quarter stars, CT loses. (I'll haggle with Yelp over half stars, but even I won't get so picky as to haggle for quarters.) My soup was fine -- tasty broth, gobs of veggies -- but the "noodle" on the menu was apparently singular for a reason, as there were but a few measly strands in my bowl. Oh yeah, and any place that skimps on veggies by using heaps of cabbage automatically loses a star. Cabbage smells like feet and is for paupers, people. When I'm living in a sod hut, you can feed me cabbage. Until then, don't skimp on the greenery. Laura's soup was overly salty, said she, but I won't deduct another star and instead will just roll up "so-so soup" into one deduction across the board. Will I go back? Well, I'll definitely be going back to Landmark, so if I'm craving Thai, I wouldn't mind stopping by Chilli Thai, hold the cabbage. read more

I'm almost scared to write this review because I don't want it to get busy when I go, but I feel like this place deserves better reviews and better business. Everything is reasonably priced and you get pretty big portions, enough to share with one another person. Also, free parking because of the mall right across. It doesn't get any better than that. So I was at work and wanted to try something different than the usual around here so I decided to order online with my coworker. We were starving and saw that the delivery time was 30-40 minutes. We order a thai iced tea, pad thai noodles, and sa tay. Everything came out to about $25 which we thought was good. Wait time turned out to be an hour and five minutes. The noodles were good and the portion was great. The sa tay portion was really small and not really worth the $8.00. The Iced Tea was ok but about 3/4 ice! Ambiance and Service: The decorations seemed like they were chosen when the restaurant opened and have remained untouched since then. Festive lights on the wall along with old newspaper articles. The service was a little ridiculous because there was just one waitress for the whole restaurant and another girl bringing out the food. It was difficult to get the waitress' attention and when you did, she was trying to get away and start her next task. There are not many tables and there can be wait. So you might not want to count on a quick dinner if you are in a rush. Food: The supposedly "most popular" dish - Spicy Thai Mint with your choice of meat - was the least impressive. It is not spicy and I tasted nothing of thai mint. The green curry chicken seems like a small portion but the sauce is incredibly flavorful. The sauce on rice was the best part of the meal (sidenote - getting rice was difficult because they did not automatically give us any and even when we asked they only gave us one small bowl for four people). The noodle dish was tasty but nothing unusual. I would definitely come again for thai food, but I would have adjusted expectations. The prices were modest, but so were the portions. The cold sake came out in small bottles that showed they were expired (we only noticed after drinking) and tasted like really sweet green tea. read more

Y'all are mean!! I'm not sure why all the low ratings, but I come here often for lunch and have yet to have a bad experience. Thus far, I've had: Pad Thai...decent, but I've had better. Spicy chicken fried rice...amazing. Pad See Ew (I ordered mine spicy)...top notch. BBQ chicken and short rib plate...very good, but I could see someone choking on the bones in the short ribs. So you may want to make sure someone else is near, just in cast you need them to do the Hind Lick Maneuver on you (or is it Heimlich Maneuver...I always did get the two mixed up?). It's a wrap, but this is a great example why we should try places for ourselves, instead of having our opinions dictated by a few grumpy yelpers. read more

This review is for ordering delivery! An update as of 6/8/17: Our office still orders delivery from Chili Thai at least once a week and it is EXCEPTIONAL! We love this place! Try the spicy thai eggplant with beef! My office located in Century City orders from Chilli Thai as often as possible! Delivery is ALWAYS prompt, the orders are correct, and the food warm and delicious! I've often requested that they combine orders in large trays for a group "catering" order and they have always been generous with the portions. The green curry is absolutely what I expect to have when I get a green curry. Spicy, sweet and full of chicken, Our office loves the pad see ew add he spicy noodle. It is some of the best in town! I do not recommend the pad thai. It's just OK. The coconut soup os good, but not the best. Everything else however is just GREAT! read more

My friends and I are fans of Chilli Thai - it's close, quick and tasty. It's not the BEST thai food you'll ever eat, but I personally think it is pretty good. I used to love this place as a good alternative to eating at the westside pavilion. i would go here at least once a week and get their daily special which is only $5.95. I would get their chicken pad thai and a thai iced tea... which really are not that bad. It's good enough if you are craving thai food. However, I will NEVER go back because they changed the charge on my receipt. On my receipt it said that I had signed for $8.05... to my dismay, when I checked my online credit card statement, they had charged me $9.05. Only a dollar...
