The good: The lady who took my order was very sweet. Another worker was so funny, squawking loudly at another co-worker and admittedly could not wait to get out of there for her break! 2 customers coming in for pick-up seeing me peruse the paper take out menu did not hesitate to recommend their fave dishes. Gave me some confidence that the place has regulars The food was reasonably priced Ready within the 15 min they had quoted me The not so great: I would never eat in here - it was dingy, very pepto pink and really outdated. For take out I could care less though, if the food is good The food was not good - major issue. I did not eat very much just in case and while I was not ill afterwards, my tummy was doing somersaults for a couple of hours and I had to eat some ginger tablets Ordered: Kung Pao Three (beef, shrimp, chicken) This came with white rice which seemed fine and I liked that it was included with this dish. Many places charge for it! I found the sauce to be a bit flat. Needed a bit more heat and sweet. The shrimp had a bit of a funky smell to it - and it should not, of course. Did not eat the shrimp Chicken fried rice. Ordered online for delivery and they called to confirm the details of my order - excellent service there! Also asked how I would like the delivery, I'm in a hotel not your typical home delivery. The delivery person arrived and evidently the hotel phones were out so she brought it up to my room, again excellent service! Food arrived piping hot and order was correct. Hot & sour soup was packed with ingredients and was the perfect balance of spicy & sour. The wonton soup is also loaded with not just wontons and broth but veg and chicken too. Both soups were very yummy and plenty of leftovers! Chicken chow mein and chicken veg was also tasty. Overall will be ordering from these guys again when in town. read more

I wouldn't expect to have delicious Chinese food in a random plaza at Bakersfield, but my family had to stop at Firestone on our drive up to San Jose. This restaurant seems like a family owned restaurant, and I believe it is. On the other side of the restaurant, there was an older man that looked like he was rolling egg rolls, which made the restaurant seem "authentic." My family ordered the fried rice, Hainan chicken, and Premier's beef. After the first bite, all of us were in love. Typically, we have leftovers, but we managed to finish everything (and we even ordered an extra fried rice). Even the description of the food sounds good and authentic. The waitress was super sweet. We kept telling her how the food was good and what not, and she was so shy and humble when thanking us. Even when she saw our tip to her, she was smiling a lot. At the end of our lunch, we were having conversation with her and she was so cute. When we went, there wasn't a lot of people. They do have a good lunch special and dinner combo, though. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star review is due to the fact that we waited for a hour and a half for our food and there was only 3 of us. Good food for the price. I stuffed myself on bean sprouts and tilapia. I couldn't try their other dishes as they had meat, it was lent when we stopped by. My brother liked their sushi. For the most part we a happy with this place. Only exception is on occasion when I order my favorite meal there has been a problem. I like chow mein, but theirs has mushrooms in it. I always specify NO mushrooms ( I am deathly allergic to them) but I have on occasion found mushrooms in my order. So I have to give it away and I have no meal. I try to check it out before I leave the place, but I can't always tell if there are 'shrooms until I dump it out onto my plate. read more

We ordered through DoorDash however there was a problem with the driver. An employee from this restaurant delivered the food. We were beyond surprised when our order arrived at our door. Not to mention it was pouring rain outside at the time. We would have understood if the order was cancelled but glad that it wasn't. Wow as a kid me and my parents went here at least once a week. just got takeout to go.ordered Kung Pao chicken,beef and broccoli,and sweet and sour pork and white rice. This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in the USA! Me wife, and I, will literally drive 1.5 hours one way to go and eat there. The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavours, and is brought to your table very quickly. The owners and their staff are from China and they are always very warm, friendly, and courteous. Dining there is an experience! You will feel like you are literally in China as the authentic decor throughout the restaurant is very eye catching and pleasant to dine in. It is one of those places you return to that always feels like you're experiencing it again for first time. You will love and you will return for sure! read more

Great food at a great price. I love everything I have tried here. The mushrooms and bamboo on the premiers chicken are great. The orange chicken os crunchy with a slight spice, and the kung pao three delights is wonderful with chicken, shrimp, beef, and cashews. I also love the fried rice here as well as their sizzling rice soup. Remember to ask for chilli for some added kick. We placed an order for pickup. This had to be the worst Chinese food we have ordered! We ordered bbq pork chow mien noodles, bbq pork egg foo young, Mongolian beef and sweet,sour pork. Let's just say the only good thing was the fortune cookies! The fried shrimp was so over cooked it was like jerky. Most of the entrees hardly any meat. What a waste of $65.00. China Garden was a place I frequented all throughout high school. My mom and I would come for dinner and when I was working I'd often stop in on a solo lunch. I hadn't been here in 10 years and when I recently moved back to town I HAD to make it one of my first stops. I hoped it was as good as I remembered and I can tell you it was. I've been three times since I moved back! I was shocked it's not as busy as it used to be. This place is incredible. From the outside looking in, it might look old, and it is, but the food is what it is all about. It's authentic Chinese. Cooked perfectly every time. I've never had a bad meal here. My staple are potstickers and sliced chicken in garlic sauce. It is my favorite Chinese dish and this place has the best recipe for it. They put in water chestnuts which I love. It has great texture and wonderful flavor. I get it less spicy as it is a traditionally spicy dish. THE POTSTICKERS. Perfect every time. Their potsticker sauce is what I have compared all other potsticker sauce to and it wins hands down. Not too strong, and the right balance. Gary has gotten a variety of dishes - chow mein, Kung pao three delight, and has been happy every time. Give this place a chance and you will not be disappointed. Amazing food, super faster service. The food is really good here especially the braised beef and hot and sour soup are my favorites. There is no problem when you eat in the restaurant. The problem is when you do take out. If you haven't done takeout here before just be aware that the takeout boxes will NOT be full. This happened before and I gave them the benefit of the doubt but I know now this is done on purpose. I have never ordered from a restaurant that didn't fill their boxes...ever. It's pricey enough the boxes should be full. Also if you want things like hot mustard you have to ask or you don't get it. I don't think we will be eating here again if this is how they treat their customers just to save a few pennies. read more

Friday night after work, we were craving for some Chinese food and thinking where to eat? First choice was my favorite Bill Lee's but it's a little too far and there would be a long wait for sure. Scratch that. Second choice was the super-duper overrated PF Chang and it'd be crowded also especially on Friday night. Third choice was China Star Buffet because we were starving. As we entered the parking lot, I saw the little sign of China Garden, so I powered up my yelp app and so far good reviews and only few haters. So what the heck...let's give it a try. And surprise, surprise, we were very pleased with the food and friendly staff. Hubby was offered a chinese beer and he loved it but the beer was a little pricy. We ordered Mongolian Beef, Mogo Gai Pan, Beef Chowmein and BBQ pork fried rice and they were all delicious. We found a chinese restaurant close to our place and they deliver. read more
