I am always a bit shy when it comes to trying new restaurants. This was a pleasant surprise! It seems whenever chicken is cooked in a rotisserie, its fall off the bone delicious and this is no exception. We all loved this chicken.I ordered the family style dinner which cost me 19.05 and it was a fabulous deal. It came with two sides and a bread choice. For the sides, I choose the tabouli salad and the corn on the cob. The tabouli was the best I have ever had, they put raisins in it and it added a sweetness to it that was a delightful change. The corn on the cob was cooked perfectly. For the bread I selected the corn bread muffins; thanks to the other yelpers for this suggestion. I find corn bread normally to be too dry to enjoy. This cornbread was fantastic, so light, so moist, so delicious!! I saw the chicken wrap sandwich being prepared while I was there and I am looking forward to coming back to try that one. The veggie wrap sounds pretty tasty too. Service was great, the family seems super nice. I will be back and congrats on a great start to a long, happy business! read more

Judging from all the great Yelp reviews, I thought this place would be a hidden gem and it was added to my bookmark. It turned out this is nothing like I had expected. El Pollo Loco is much better than this place. You have to watch out for their merchant services that process the credit cards. We paid with a credit and was told it was declined. We knew the card was good so we told them to run it again. This time she showed us a receipt showing some sort of transaction error and told us the charge didn't go through. We gave her another credit card to pay and it went through. We then call our bank while we were waiting for the meal trying to find out why the 1st credit card didn't work. Surprisingly we were told the card was fine and the charge went through the first time. The representative saw the charge posted to our account. Our bank declined it the 2nd time because it was a duplicate charge. Otherwise, we would have paid for the meal 3 times! We told the lady behind the counter (she's the owner or manager) and she told us that she would have to call her bank on Monday as they were not opened on Sat. She did got it sorted out with her merchant services and we got our refund on the credit card a few days later. It was just a hassle and what if we didn't call our bank they won't have gotten the refund. This was only mistake #1. We ordered family meal with one and a half chicken. When the chicken came it seemed so little. After counting the pieces, there was only one chicken. So we had to go back to the counter and they acknowledged the mistake and gave us the other half of the missing chicken. This was mistake #2. Now we finally got to enjoy the meal. The chicken was very dry. Mashed potato was bland and not creamy. It tasted like they just boiled the potatoes, mashed them and then added water and salt. The instant potatoes in the pouch tasted much better. The gravy didn't make the mashed potato tasted any better. The gravy has no flavor and too salty. It's not make from the chicken juice for sure. Steamed vegetables (broccoli & carrots) can use some oil and salt. They were just blanched in water without adding any seasoning. The best part of the meal was the corn beard. They came out in small muffin shape. They were good but not great. During the whole ordeal the owner/manager wasn't very friendly and definitely not apologetic. She didn't believe that it's her bank's error and the issue was our card. Even after she found out what happened, she didn't offer us anything to compensate for the hassle which showed me that they either didn't care about customer service or they didn't want to keep us as a customer. I don't plan on going back anytime soon. There is nothing that would make me wanted to revisit the place. read more

My family has been eating Chixy Natural at least once a week for over a year. Chixy uses "natural" hormone free chickens and prepares everything fresh in-house. The restaurant is very small and does not have a very inviting environment for dining...... BUT the food is wonderful! Perfect for take-out! Chixy is not your typical grilled / rotisserie chicken joint. The chicken has a delicious and unique marinade, the sides are NOT your typical corn and mashed potatoes, and the menu selections are varied and unique for a chicken restaurant. They have a flair of middle eastern influence running through the menu which we love!! -Rotisserie Chicken is very moist with great flavor, this is why we go here. -Sweet potatoes are cooked on the rotisserie where they absorb the drippings from the chicken,,,,,so good! -Couscous salad it terrific -The baked beets are sweet and delicious -Corn bread muffins, oh the corn bread muffins.....I love you! Their wide selection of dressing / sauces are made in-house, incredibly unique, and TASTY! The spicy salsa is awesome and NOT what you expect. We showed up RIGHT before the rush. I felt bad because you could tell they were extremely overwhelmed. The issue was people kept calling for takeout and were getting priority ahead of the people in the restaurant. We entered the restaurant and there was one table of guests - we got in line and had 3 takeout orders via phone placed in front of us. After we ordered a bunch of people came in. Lady finally stopped taking phone orders. We waited for quite some time. They had trouble remembering our orders. Brought out a family meal for a table that showed up after us. Brought half the tables food. Then brought the wrong food for other half of table - so waited for the fix. I chalk that all up to them being just overwhelmed. Everyone was happy with their food - Chicken was moist. Really enjoyed the spicy salsa. Figure out best way to continue take out orders while keeping guests in restaurant happy and you will have a solid establishment. read more

One of the best chicken I've ever had, with it's fall-off-the-bone tenderness and burst of flavors. This Mom and Pop place is cute neighborhood restaurant that offers healthy, quality food. Me and the boyfriend usually try to stay healthy and since I was in charge of dinner last night I decided to yelp a nearby place that offered some type of rotisserie chicken. I'm so glad I decided to give this place a try. It was about half an hour to closing and the ladies at the counter were just as friendly and welcoming as if I was the first customer of the day. I ended up ordering the #3 Combo Family meal with cous cous salad and steamed vegetables. The cous cous salad was a little watery, but still really delicious and fresh! The vegetables were perfectly steamed, the broccoli thankfully was not overcooked at all! The lady at the counter told me they only had two corn bread muffins left but she would give them to me plus pita bread. I was a happy camper. Highlights of the meal: Chicken was SOOOO GOOOOD. As in, I'm drooling just thinking about how juicy and flavorful it was. The corn bread muffins are so unassuming... I've never been a huge fan of cornbread and can usually take only a few bites until I'm over it.. I ate the entire cornbread muffin and was vehemently disappointed to find that my boyfriend had already scarfed his down before I could sneak in another bite. GAH. Looking for a closer rotisserie chicken spot, I decided to check this place out. The staff was very friendly and eager to answer any questions I might have. I did the quarter chicken combo that comes with two sides, of which I ended up ordering the steamed veggies and baked sweet potato. The chicken was very good, tender, moist and crispy skin. The sides were just alright, the veggies only comes with carrots and broccoli, although everything was fresh tasting I missed the options of sides my typical go-to spot has. You also get a tortilla on the side for free, which was actually pretty tasty, but I don't typically just eat these plain, so only had a few bites. Fist time I go there and will be my last, my husband and I went there after 8 months of trying to go and finally we went yesterday, the service was awful, we waited for the lady to take our order like 5 minutes( the place was empty) after the wait my husband started ordering the food and suddenly the lady went to the kitchen without saying anything, she left my husband talking and she took another 5 minutes in getting back to us, after those other 5 min she got back and said " I'm sorry we don't have more chicken, you have to wait one hour or more" we were bummed, we just left. Came by to bring home dinner on a wednesday evening and got the Newport experience with an OC cougar equipped with fake lips and who-knows-what-else waiting for her order. Upon walking in it was very friendly service and pretty quick getting the food. Got the combo with 1 whole chicken and 2 sides for a shade under $20 which isn't terrible at all. Got home and had the meal and we were satisfied but not blown away. Chicken was good, but not great. My first piece of wholewheat pita was almost like cardboard. The coleslaw was just alright; I've never had it with pineapple before so that was interesting. The mashed potatoes were probably the best of the dishes, very good. I came in thinking it would match up to Zankou Chicken, but it just didn't. Which is no knock on Chixy because Zanks is damn good. If it wasn't such a long wait I would have opted for cornbread over pita (I was told it would be another 15 minutes so I skipped out). If I was in the area I might come back but if I really wanted a whole chicken I'll go to Wholefoods next time ($8 or $9) and pick out some other sides. read more

The is one of our go-to eateries. We always get take out. The Chicken is perfectly roasted; tender inside with a crisp skin. This place really knows how to do rotisserie well. They have plenty of healthy options for sides - veggies, sweet potato, couscous salad. Their tortillas are wheat, which I objected to at first but they are very delicious. I almost always order the #2 chicken plate. Its a half chicken with two sides. I get the sweet potatoes and the side salad. The sweet potatoes are insane. They roast those in the same rotisserie that they roast the chickens. The result is an incredibly tasty and sweet potato. I ordered a salad the other day and it was delicious as well.
