Really liked this place! And it was surprisingly affordable, too! They were very concerned about allergies, very nice. We had a variety of food and all was delicious. The food was good, the bar and restaurant were beautiful and we had the best (male) bartender we have ever had at the Chophouse Grille. We got Fish & Chips and Chicken Marsala which were both good. Fish & Chips had a great batter on it. Chicken Marsala was a little too thick and didn't have much taste to it so I wouldn't get it again. We'd go back and try other dishes though. read more

We stopped in for a couple of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. We ordered two perfect Canadian Club manhattans up. They were passable, but with too much of a strong flavored bitters that overpowered the drink. Bartender needs to lighten up on this. Calamari was drenched in a spicy romoularde sauce. Ok for me who likes spicy, but not for my wife who doesn't. Would have been better served with the sauce on the side. Bread and flavored butter were excellent. We asked the bus boy what was in the butter. He didn't know and didn't offer to find out. I had to tell him that when asked a question he didn't know the answer to, he should say, "sorry, I don't know, but I will find out for you." Obviously, a little training is in order. Caesar salad was fine. Waitress was charming and efficient. Noise level in the restaurant is challenging. Big TV's over the bar. Finally got a chance to eat at the Chophouse last night with my husband and our two good friends . We were amazed at the transformation ! We sat in the dining room to the right when you walk in our sever Kelsey told us it was called the main dining room and explained the rest of the rooms to us as well . We immediately told her we hadn't had a night out in a while and did not want to be rushed , she was great ! She told us she wanted is to feel like we were at home and to take our time . It is so nice to not feel like you are just a tip , and to be rushed out to move the table !! Kelsey suggested a few of her favorites , my friend and I split a chopped salad and we shared a calamari for the table , I explained my allergy to onion and she assured us it would be noted on our slip and properly cared for , very comforting when you have an allergy ! Appetizers were great !! We then had 2 filets , scallops and a sword fish dish that we're melt in your mouth ! And the warm bread pudding --- heaven ! We had an overall wonderful time at dinner , from the friendly greeting when we walked in the door to our awesome server , and delicious drinks and food ! We can't wait to come back with our out of state friends , what a welcomed change to our area ! read more

Not sure how the food is, but when I saw a waitress walking out of the kitchen with a tray of (what looked like clams casino's) and one fell on the floor, she bent over, picked it up, put it BACK on the plate and proceeded to serve it to the unknowing diner!!!! I have been to the ChopHouse Grille several times. It is a busy place and can be a little noisy but the food is always very good. I have not yet tried the steaks but the meat loaf is great as is the lobster roll. Ribs were a little spicy for me. Would definitely recommend. read more

The food at this restaurant is excellent. I had a filet that was perfectly prepared and delicious. The sides were excellent and beautifully presented. I also had the lox appetizer. The lox is prepared in house. The waiter was well informed regarding the new menu and provide a number of good tips. read more

Wonderful ambience. Give in and order the Filet, it is cooked to perfection!! The bartender sure knows how to pour a beer, and carries a good cross section. Just left the Chop House Grille. My friend and I ordered the Prime Rib, which is supposedly served daily. What they brought out was certainly not Prime Rib. I've seen thicker pieces of meat on a McDonald's breakfast sandwich. This was a step up from Steak-Ums. At $19 for a 10 0z. Prime Rib it was a rip off, by the way there is no Queen Cut or King Cut like most places. This was our first and last time going there. I'll go to the Hungry Haven in Charlestown where they know what Prime Rib looks like, it's BYOB and not fancy but at least you get your moneys worth. read more

If I could give this place a turd instead of a star, I would. I live in the area and have come here numerous times in the past 6 months. The past 3 visits I have almost walked out before even talking to a waiter, primarily because it takes about 15 minutes just to have someone come to the table after being seated. If their buffalo calamari wasn't so pants-unbuttoning good, I would never come back here. Seriously, sometimes I dream about how good it is. Otherwise it's your typical over-priced, under-serviced restaurant that preys on tourists and people that don't know what good service is. Overall the food is pretty good and I haven't had a bad meal here but everything else makes this place feel like I'm wasting my money and should have gone to Crazy Burger instead. I love Crazy Burger by the way, so do yourself a favor and go there instead, unless you really have a hankering for buffalo calamari. My wife and I were so excited to try the newly renovated Chophouse Grill in Wakefield, Rhode Island. It is quite appealing and comfortable, made more so by the attractive hostess and waitstaff. However, after our glowing "first impression" things began to slide. I ordered my meal and requested a "house salad" as their entrees do not include a salad. My waitress responded that she "wasn't sure if that could be done" or not. Was that such an outrageous request? We ordered drinks and waited for our food to arrive. Quite surprisingly my side dish, a baked potato, arrived first. I ordered the potato with sour cream, however it was delivered with sour cream and butter. The potato was huge, but when I cut into it I could see that it was not only "sitting" awhile but rotten and inedible. When I asked a waitress to remove it from the table I was asked why? To which I calmly replied "look at it." The next item delivered was my prime rib. I asked for my salad first, however, it came last. Quite disconcerting. The salad did arrive and was easily the best part of the meal. The prime rib was tasty and appeared succulent but I was easily disappointed as the meat was tough and hard to chew. In fact, I have never received a prime rib as tough as this one. It is hard for me to recommend Chophouse but to be fair, we will give it one more try this summer. I don't know what to say other than AMAZING!! I've lived in Narragansett since 2003 and Southern RI has some great restaurants but WOW did they just step it up another notch with the Chophouse Grille. The renovations are beyond what you could ever have expected to see from the old Casey's and the food is even more impressive! The portions and prices were both Great. The Buffalo Tenders and Calamari are absolutely the best I've ever had and you could cut the steak with a fork. Food, Staff, Ambiance, you name it everything was Great!! The bar's are beautiful and the restaurant in general was just Awesome! They have 3 different dining areas so you really have the choice of being part of the fun and excitement or you can relax and enjoy the company of the people your with. Judging by all the buzz around town I would say they hit a Grand Slam with this restaurant and I can't wait to go back. I've talked to at least 20 people that have gone and since the opening and everyone praised the place and said they couldn't wait to go back!! Exactly what we needed, Great Job!!!! read more

Me and my friend split a steak and we got bacon rapped asperges. The steak was under cooked. The bacon tasted like it was raw.we sent back the steak and it was over cooked when it came out. I went back and it was a little bit better. It was a ok experience. read more

My girlfriend and I chose the Chophouse tonight for her birthday and unfortunately found it average at best. We had planned on going to a more casual venue, but decided on the spur of the moment to go a bit more "upscale". The service was fine, but there was nothing special about any of the food, and some things fell short. The soup of the day, a short rib beef stew, was tasty but a little salty, the French Onion had a nicely flavored broth, but was a difficult to eat cheese bomb with soggy bread that required knife and fork to avoid pulling all the cheese out at once. My girlfriend ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and she left most of the rest uneaten, as the noodles and vegetables were soggy, and the flavor was vinegary to the point of being unenjoyable - I also tasted it and concurred. My Prime Rib was properly cooked to the med rare I asked for, but was not an especially good piece of beef as would be expected in a place called the Chophouse, where such an item should shine. We ate here about 6 months ago with friends - might have given it 3 stars if I had reviewed it that time. All in all, I think we are done with this place. I just don't think the value of the foods matches up with the price. read more

I took my family of 6 to the Chophouse grill last night and was amazed by the renovations that had been done since Casey's closed. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated and a new bar has been put upstairs. Our server was excellent and very courteous, he just seemed overwhelmed by his workload. I was disappointed in general with the food. The clams casino was just OK and the ceasar salads were very acidic. The shrimp cocktail was very small considering the $3.25 per price tag. My prime rib was very good, but my wife's Salmon looked more like an overcooked piece of chicken. We were seated upstairs next to the bar and it was incredibly noisy, almost like a college bar atmosphere. The total tab was over $330 (with a limited bar tab) , OK for a fine dining restaurant, buy clearly too much for the food, and establishment that we were in. I will be hard pressed to go back. I'm not quite sure what clientele the restaurant is trying to attract , but with the current pricing, it's clearly not a "family "restaurant . read more

I came into ChopHouse on Thursday night with my husband. We had a long day of traveling and were in desperate need of a drink. Honestly, we just picked the first restaurant off the highway but I could not be happier we stopped here. We were quickly seated, and looked over the menu. I was impressed by how diverse the menu was! I settled on a glass a wine while my husband tried the local Whaler's draft. Both were excellent. We were greeted by a delightful young woman by the name of Lauren. She was very knowledgeable of the menu, and helped us decide between a few dishes. Ultimately, I decided on the salmon while my husband opted for the 12 oz prime rib. Lauren was very attentive despite how busy it was for a Thursday night. While we waited, we were given a board of homemade bread and a side of their cinnamon honey butter...delicious!!! The food came out promptly after, and we were both very satisfied. Lauren stopped by often to refill our drinks and make sure everything was going well. Unfortunately we were in a hurry to get back on the road so we could not comment to a manager, but I was thoroughly impressed with the food and service we received. This hole in the wall place on the busy Tower Hill section of Wakefield is really not to bad at all. Its has a nice menu that has a variety of anything you are in the mood for. It's not just a steak and burger joint. It has 3 or 4 Italian dishes, typical seafood favorites for this area, and a nice variety of apps...I went there and had their 9 oz burger that came with all kinds of fixen's on it, and was excellent. And, with it coming with fries for $10.00, it is one of the best burgers and bargains to be had in the state. In fact their whole menu is very fair in my opinion. A look around to some of the other plates and patrons gave me the impression they were all satisfied and having a good time. All in all perhaps not one of the nicest rides, but definitely worth checking out. My only gripe with the place is the complimentary valet parking. I really hate it when a restaurant that isn't fancy enough or has bad enough parking pulls that crap. It may be complimentary, but unless you want to look like a cheap slob you have to tip them. It's not the money mind you, its the idea that I feel forced into the extra expense for no good reason. I parked across the way and avoided it. Think as you may about being called cheap, but it is purely principle with me when paying someone to park my 14 year old truck... I'm giving this 3 stars based on the ambience, the drinks, and the service. I can't really speak for the food. This is a steakhouse, of which I do not partake. I had been there for drinks on several occasions and was so impressed with the atmosphere and the service that I thought it was time to try it for dinner. Unfortunately, there's not much on the menu for me. I'm not a meat eater, but I do enjoy fish. They're a bit overpriced on the few seafood dishes that they offer and quite frankly I'd much prefer the Matunuck Oyster House for seafood. So..I got a little daring and tried the Pad Thai with tofu. I thought this would be very chancy, because really one should only order Pad Thai in a thai restaurant. Well, I should have stuck with that reality. Big mistake! Worse "pad thai" I have ever had. Actually, it was probably one of the worse dishes I've ever had. I don't know what this creation was, but it certainly was NOT pad thai. It missed on the key ingredients and added something awful which gave it an overpowering vinegary flavor. The tofu was overcooked and mushy. Just awful! All three of us had this dish and are in agreement that it should be removed from their menu. Bottom line, I will go back for drinks and nibble on their wonderful bread with the honey sweet butter, but I won't be so daring the next time. read more

My wife and I went there last night as our 3rd choice... Matunuck Oyster was out of control, Two Ten Oyster was on a 1.5 hour wait.. We walked into Chop a little after 7 and the restaurant was dead... We didn't want to be where everybody was but we certainly wanted to be where some people were.. Lol. We sat at the bar (there were only 5 or 6 people sitting at bar or even around the bar area). We decided to have a drink and an appt... We had 12 Oysters and the tuna wontons.. At that point we weren't convinced if we were going to stay for dinner... We ended up yaking with the bartenders (Christopher and Matt)... Both were fantastic and very attentive!!! We most definitely would have left if it wasn't for them... We decided to stay and eat. We had been there a few times prior and we left last night with a similar feeling as the past.. Food was OK, the menu limited, and the bang for your buck wasn't there... Last night I had the scallops with risotto and they were excellent, although for $28 I would have hoped for more than 4 in the serving. My wife had the halibut and she said that it had no flavor... The Sangria and the Mojitos that were hand made by Christopher were awesome and it was definitely the highlight... I hope that this place can get it turned around (maybe a new/diverse menu) because when every place in South County is on a wait in July and you have an empty bar and dining room...
