I always leave Chopt feeling like my meal was just *meh*. Am I getting the wrong thing? Maybe I should get one of their listed menu items rather than doing a build your own bowl. Some of the wraps and bowls look really good, especially the seasonal items. When I came by today, it was 30 minutes before closing so the restaurant was empty. I decided to build my own warm bowl. I did cauliflower rice as my base (as an aside, one thing I do like about Chopt is that they have cauliflower rice as a base which a lot of the competitor companies do not.), grilled chicken as my protein with edamame, and some crunchy fixings like crispy shallots, almonds and kale mix as my greens. I finished it off with Asian sesame dressing on the side. This seemed like a well rounded salad to me. It was certainly filling and voluminous (for $18 it better be lol). It tasted fine but it was a little bit underwhelming. The checkout process was quick. They don't toss in the nuts because apparently it's a safety issue, so I had the nuts and dressing on the side. I think they usually offer bread on the side but my cashier didn't offer me bread at checkout. She looked like she was in a rush. Would I come back? The red chile dressing is my go to dressing and it tastes great with my salad and adds some heat, which I'm a fan of. It was a large serving size, and honesty quite tasty. It came with lettuce, tortilla chips, cheese, tofu, and a side of bread. I loved the green goddess dressing and was actually full by the end of the meal. There was a pretty long line to order but it moved relatively quickly. They had an efficient order of operations where you watch them make your salad, and then get passed on to the next person who mixes it up and adds any dressing you want before you move to the register to pay. I like chopt. This location is just awful. They have messed up three straight salads. I don't order anything crazy. I asked for chicken (costs extra) in my Mexican Caesar. I picked it up, and it was missing. I asked to sub cauliflower rice (which costs extra) in for rice in a warm buffalo chicken bowl. The included normal rice. They have since given me a whopping $4 in credits. Not gonna go to a place and pay extra to not receive it then have them not really care. read more

Get it for dinner about once a week from my bf who goes around 6:30-7 and doesn't run into too many issues in terms of wait time. Honestly i find that it is the same as other salad places like just salad haven't tried sweetgreen yet though. Big salad that we fill to the brims for like $12 honestly its expensive imo for rabbit food but its so fresh, healthy and filling for 2 meals so it's not so bad. We make our own, mix it up and get it with stuff like spinach, kale, quinoa, avocado, shwarma/grilled chicken, feta cheese, pepper jack cheese, fried onion crisps, corn, sun dried tomatos. They have an abundance of choices. We get it up to about $20 haha. Would not recommend the steak it looks/tastes like roast beef and comes in a tiny little container. The guy did fill it with more initially and then put some back so that kinda sucked. Haven't tried the set salads but they also sound delicious but i rather make my own but i know you can switch some items in a preset salad. May need to ask or they'll tell you what is extra or can/cannot substitute. We have tried the sweet and smoky chipotle, chimichurri, basalmic, oil and vinegar dressings. If you're coming for lunch, I highly recommend ordering 1 hour ahead and choosing the pick up option. The 12-2pm slot is insane on any weekday. I've had almost everything on their menu, and can say that you'll never be disappointed. The salads are sometimes very large portions, so it's worth paying attention to that. Just because it's a salad doesn't mean it's necessarily healthy, especially when smothered with creamy dressing! Another tip I'd give is to download the Chop't app and pay with the barcode. I like, but just don't love Chopt. Other than maybe the warm bowls, they tend to be skimpy on ingredients and it just winds up being slightly flavored wet lettuce. To add insult to injury, it's ridiculously expensive for what you get. Good looking getting out of here for less than $14 for just a salad. My favorite item is probably the chicken tinga bowl, but one would get sick of that pretty quick. Recently had one of their special bowls with some kind of falafel-like substance and it was dry AF and tasted like cardboard. I order from here almost every weekday through their app which is convenient. Today I got the Crunchy Vietnamese Salad and service was good as usual. But half way through the salad, I realized there's something wrong with the kale...... almost all the kale pieces have black dots on them! I picked out all of the kale pieces and tried to eat the rest half of the salad but it grossed me out and I finally threw it away. I took pictures of the kale pieces but it's hard to see the dots from the picture. But I can tell you it's really gross in person seeing black dots all over the kale pieces... I chose Chopt over other salad places for it's quality but it really disappointed me today... and the thought of me probably swallowed half of the kale pieces with black dots makes me sick. Hopefully I won't get sick from it :( Update: I was contacted by Chop't right after posting this review. They escalated this issue and compensated me with vouchers. I'm happy with their response, as the point of reviews is to improve the quality and service of the restaurant. I'm impressed with the incident response/ customer relations team. This is how every Chopt should operate. I go to this Chopt 4 or 5 times a week. The staff are very friendly and extremely well organized from managing the long lines to moving the customer from station to station. They pre-chop the lettuce, which you would think would make it less fresh, but it doesn't. Pre-chopping moves things along so much faster. The food is great and all the stations are neat. The vegetables look and taste fresh all the time. Checkout is fast and friendly. The whole process is managed very well in a tough environment with high customer volume. I recently gave a poor review to the Dobbs Ferry location and did not feel right giving this location a positive review. read more

We went here about 2 years ago for lunch when we were visiting NYC. I had been to one of their locations in DC and had loved it so I wanted to try this one out as well. We still didn't have to wait that long (in relation to the amount of people). The best part was the speed and quickness of the staff...I've never seen anyone chop salads this fast! I couldn't believe it! I think this review would be complete by just saying the above, but I will continue on with the greatness of Chop't... If you are into salads then this is the place to go. You can buy a pre-selected salad from a list of "chop't classics," which has ingredients already mixed in for those that can't decide. OR You can customize a salad in almost any way you would like. First you choose from a variety of lettuce types. Then you choose 4 free "choppings" (my personal faves include carrots, snow peas, corn, oranges, and tomatoes...meats and cheeses cost extra). Then you choose from a variety of homemade dressings (I prefer the 5-flavor asian or oil free balsamic vinaigrette). Then the staff members chop the ingredients and mix them up, which is my favorite part of the experience. They also offer soups and salad sandwiches. I can see why people would argue over the prices, however you get what you pay for here. The salads are amazing and the experience is wonderful as well. I was able to order and get out of the store within 15 minutes. I got the Mendocino market bowl ($9) with spicy tahini dressing and a squirt of lemon. This is delicious! It's got butternut squash, quinoa and lentil blend, charred red onion, Parmesan, and a blend of kale and cabbage. For the price this is an awesome value for the portion and it's healthy! Overall, things look and taste a little less fresh. I had to ask for a squeeze of lime 3 times before I got it. Also, while my salad was supposed to be around $9, I got charged over double the cost. Having sampled salad from across the various chains, and achieved Sweetgreen Gold status, I'm confident in saying that Chopt is....ok. Probably the best thing about them is that they deliver. I ordered the Kale Caesar with added chicken, which came to $9.69 before tip, tax, and the $3 delivery fee. It arrived in around 45 minutes, not too bad. To their credit, the salad is humungous. I mean it was packed to the brim of the plastic bowl, and since the salad does arrive chopped up, the result is a dense bowl. It was difficult to add the dressing on the side, so I would just request it as part of the salad and tell them your preference (light, heavy) in the comments. The salad itself was ok. The kale was kind of tough, the chicken pretty dry. Really inferior to Sweetgreen's equivalent Kale Caesar, but they make up for it in sheer quantity, the fact that it comes mixed and chopped (Sweetgreen online ordering does not mix their salads), and the fact that they deliver. read more

My Mexican "destination" salad was just about 100% finely chopped lettuce with 2 or 3 corn kernels and a sliver of onion here and there. My salad arrived without dressing, without bread and without the extra dressing (all of which I had requested on my order). I emailed customer service - no response. Chopt often feels like it could be so much better than it is. I often find myself wondering how fresh the ingredients are here, especially the protein. I got the Spicy Sonoma Caeser, and I was a little underwhelmed. Perhaps there's always a little too much dressing, or the avocado was extremely small and hard to find, but I just couldn't quite find the healthy, wholesome feeling while eating this salad.
