As much as I love their food, this place has the slowest service in the entire food industry. I should've known better and ordered through the app ahead of time. I've been waiting here close to 20 minutes and they gave me a pager after I placed my order, and I still haven't seen my food yet. Their food is delicious but it's not really worth it when I only have one hour of lunchtime and it takes approximately about that time just waiting for my food. And I'm not even eating it here... The last time I had chowking was back in the Philippines about 10 years ago. I was really excited to try it again since it's been so long! We decided to get 1 one entree combo meal ($7.99) and 1 two entree combo meal ($10.49). The combo meals come with plain rice and fried chicken. The two entree comes with chicken and shanghai. We also ordered their siomai ($4.29) and opted with getting it fried. This location sure was popular as there was long lines to order and takeout. Despite that, the food came out pretty quick. The food was still fresh and hot. I took a bite of their chicken and it brang back memories! The only thing missing was the shrimp chip served when the combo meal. Not sure if it's a Philippines thing but I sure missed that. Other than that, the pancit was good and not to oily. The chicken size crunchy and not dry. The shanghai with the sweet and sour sauce was really good. I enjoyed eating the siomai. It reminded me of the ones I eat back home. Yeah this place solidifies my belief that the only good Filipino food is Jollibee and Valerio's. Everything else kinda sucks, low tier cuisine imo. The only reason it's not getting a 1 star review is the Siopao. So Chowking is supposed to be Filipino Chinese food. In my eyes, it's a cross between HK Dim Sum and American Chinese food, but a worse version of both. I got a two entree combo meal which came with fried chicken and sweet and sour pork. The fried chicken was awful, much worse than Jollibee's incredible ChickenJoy. I had my hopes up because of my good experience with Jollibee, but Chowking's fried chicken was dry, bland, and not very crispy. The sweet and sour pork was also lacking. It was also dry and soggy, if that makes sense. The breading was not crispy because it's been out for a while, and the meat inside had no juice at all. It reminded me of the deli orange chicken that's been sitting out for a while at Ranch 99. I wanted to get pancit canton with my combo, but they were out of pancit so I had to get white rice. White rice was fine, but I was disappointed that I couldn't get the pancit, as that is one of my favorite Filipino foods. Unlucky. The combo also came with a single dinky sesame ball. It was terrible as well, you could tell that it's been out for a while because it was soggy, greasy, and deflating into itself. I wanted to try more of their menu, so I randomly ordered a carne asada siopao (basically a Chinese steamed BBQ pork bun). It was quite good! Just about traditional Dim Sum quality. This is the only thing that I would get again if I were to ever come back. Looking back, I lost faith in Filipino food. Chowking was a huge disappointment and I don't think I'll come back. read more

Came here for Halo Halo. The price on menu seems to be reasonable. Lots of table to dine in. I see staff cleaning tables. The place is pretty clean. Parking lot has plenty of space. BUT I was disappointed with the halo halo that I got. It didn't have the custard. The shaved ice under is not fine enough. The advertisement picture on menu board shows custard in the cup but there's none in mine!!!! I don't mind coming back in the future to try out other items. There's quite a lot of customers here. The middle-aged woman with the mustache was very rude as soon as my boyfriend & I approached her. She looked us up and down, whispered something to her coworker and then had someone else take our order. I immediately felt uncomfortable & discriminated. I asked if they had chicken or beef siapao since we don't eat pork. They said they have chicken. When I asked about the lumpia, she said "its the same thing." When I decide to order the chicken lumpia, all of a sudden they only have pork..... um, what? I tried to order a chicken siapao as well and she said they were all out. Bummer. After we had gotten our food I grabbed some sauce from an empty table to eat with my meal. The same woman comes out with her food to go on her break and comes up to me and takes the sauce back. While she has it in her hand she stares at me & says "Can I get this back" in such a rude way!! Uhg. To top it off, I look over at her table, she already has a full bottle of the same sauce! So weird. As for the food, it was really nothing special. I wasn't a fan of the garlic chicken but the fried rice and pancit canton was good. (Just needed a couple packets of soy sauce..) the lumpia was ehhh. I'll give them 2 stars since the manager was polite about it when I called to complain. I would steer clear from this spot. I decided to order from here today via doordash. I order a meaty siopao. This was problem the best item I had from here. It has a good amount of meat and isn't overly flavorful like a lot of their other items. I also order the 2 entree dish. I chose to get the lumpia shanghai and the fried chicken. The dish comes with half noodles and half rice. The noodles are not good. They were quite soggy and old tasting. It's like overcooked chow mein noodles seasoned with soy sauce and sugar with cabbage thrown in. The chicken was actually pretty good. They use a really crispy batter, but it was quite greasy. The lumpia shanghai was standard to other nearby Filipino restaurants. I don't think I'll order food from here again. Chowking consider a lot of variety of Filipino Chinese style of pork bun and siu mai. Is a deal for the amount you buy bundle meal. Fried chicken super crispy but little greasy. Definitely I will recommend the siu pao bbq pork and eat it while hot. Due to Covid situation, they still operate for ToGo or DoorDash delivery option. Parking is the reason I will come here to buy due to location at the Seafood City plaza. Don't expect much from the service, but if you decide what to order, pay and pick up your food should not be a problem. read more

Not sure why there are so many poor reviews on this place to be honest. The food is good, and in my opinion this place has way better chicken than jollibee and whatever other restaurant you go to (I will die on my shield on this).the service is what you would expect from a fast food place. On a hot day, anything cold is good. But this halo-halo was on another level. Textures and flavors took my mind off the heat. The Lumpiang Shanghai looked a lot different in person than it did on the picture un on the menu which was a bummer. However, that didn't stop us from eating them. The service was fast considering the line was 6 to 7 persons deep for the time I waited for my order to be ready for pickup. Real bad customer service. There were 2 people working on the cash register- one elderly lady and a young woman. No acknowledgement or eye contact. I gave my order and both continue to ignore me for like 3 minutes like they didn't hear anything.The older lady must be deaf or just plain rude.She just walked away after working on the register with a sour face.The other girl finally took my order and when I asked for an extra packet for my siopao , she said it'll cost me 11 cents.
