I bought the famous custard doughnut holes. A dozen for $3.99. It's so goooood. However, I can only eat 1-2 holes without a drink (milk preferably). After a while, it gets too sweet. The custard isn't very sweet, but the doughnut itself is sweeter than other doughnut holes that I've tried. It is very light and not doughy. The custard is smooth and creamy. Love the texture. The place itself is very retro. There are plenty of couch-like seats, which is nice. Usually I see cafeteria wooden seats in other doughnut shops. What a great place for donuts! I thought they were very tasty! I may be coming here a lot more from now on since it's really close to my work. They had a pretty great selection of different donuts, pastries and other breakfast sandwiches. I was surprised it wasn't crowded at all either. They take credit, debit and cash which is a huge plus. It is located right behind McDonald's and the people working there (most likely the owners) seemed friendly. It cost around $19 for 18 donuts and a coffee. Definitely coming back! :) read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with desserts! I really wanted to like this based on the Yelp reviews, but I think this is an example of herd mentality - a place gets some 5-star reviews and then everyone follows the crowd rather than giving honest ratings. I came here on a Saturday morning with a young lady who I mentor through a volunteering program. I gave her a couple of options for brunch - a sit-down breakfast place, a Chinese restaurant, and a donut shop. She has a sweet tooth so she picked the donut shop :) First off, the donuts - they are just ordinary. The custard-filled donut holes were OK, but a bit too sweet for my liking (and I like sweet!). For those people who rave about these, I would recommend trying the cream puffs from the frozen aisle of Costco - they are amazing in comparison. At this point, I would have given them a 3 or 4 rating. We had been sitting down at a booth when I overheard another customer disputing his total - that he was overcharged 40 cents for each of his breakfast sandwiches (he had gotten at least 5). The male owner argued with him and was generally very rude, but corrected the price. This made me wonder if I had been overcharged as well so I went up to the counter and asked calmly about my small mocha, which should have been $1.75, but I was charged $2.75 and an additional item for 89 cents which I had not purchased (turned out to be the charge for using my credit card). The male owner took the same aggressive tone as he did with the previous customer and explained that they no longer sold the small size, so I had been given a medium and was charged for a medium. He said that if I gave him back the rest of the beverage, he could give me a refund. I laughed uncomfortably and said that I had already drank the beverage, but that I could give him back the rest of the donut holes (there were 2 left of the 6 I ordered). The other customer was still waiting for his sandwiches and chimed in that they were not being fair. At that point the male owner proceeded to throw $1 at me (which I did not pick up), but the female owner started yelling and screaming right away, "I do not make mistakes! Don't give her anything!" I explained that it was not about the money, but about being honest. As we proceeded to leave, I exchanged some words with the other customer and thanked him for his kindness. I also apologized to my mentee (who was sitting at the booth the whole time) for the experience, especially if I embarrassed her (she is a teenager after all!). She seemed unphased and said that those people were really unreasonable and they should not treat people that way. So that was my silver lining and at least it was a good learning experience, but I'm definitely not coming back here! Also, my advice to people who are using their milk, cream, creamers, which sit at room temp on hot days in a store with no AC - try to avoid it, because the bottles were running low around 11AM which means they were sitting out for hours! read more

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THE DONUT HOLES ONLY. I'm the odd one out but I didn't think the donut were that great. In fact, these don't really qualify as "donut holes" to me; they're more like glazed cream puffs. The way the "donut holes" puffs unevenly makes me think that the batter is a choux pasts that's been piped out rather than a yeasty dough that's cut out to size. The cream inside is fine but the amount you get varies between each hole. Sometimes you get a fully filled hole, which keeps the pastry moist, but other times you get a tiny dollop, and biting into it is stale and dry. It's $5.50 (no tax) for a dozen and there's a credit card minimum of $8 with $0.99 charge. If you really want to get good custard filled donut holes, there's ironically a donut place called "Christy's Donuts" in Milpitas that's actually sells donut holes as advertised read more

Like a proud parent, I introduced them to Christy Donuts, the best place to get these little puffs of sugar that instantly melt in your mouth in that first bite. The shop is clean and inviting; and has several tables and booths to sit and chat with friends over a cup of coffee and a donut or breakfast sandwich. Mind you, these are no ordinary donut holes. First off, yes, they are filled with delicious custard. The custard isn't cloyingly sweet which is great, since it'll be glazed later. Second, instead of using ordinary yeast donut dough, they use French Cruller dough. Crullers are one of my all time favorite donuts, so can't go wrong there! I did mention that they lightly glaze each ball of dough. After one bite, you will forever be addicted. But, make sure you bite the side with the hole they pumped they pumped the cream into. Also, if you're looking into just the normal donut holes, they do that here too. And real, well. The regular ones are light and fluffy. If donut holes aren't your thing, I also recommend the apple fritter. I'm sure 99% of donut eaters will tell you that the best part of the apple fritter are the crunchy edges.
