I will round up to 5 for my rating but it was 4.5 stars on my visit. I came to Chubby Cattle for the first time to celebrate my brother's birthday. We had originally planned to dine somewhere else, but the wait was too long so we ended up at Chubby Cattle. We waited about 15 minutes for a party of 4 on a Sunday night. The interior is sleek and clean, and the food bars are bright and resemble a little street market. The mist effect on the veggie and fruit areas add to the atmosphere. The tables are spacious and ordering via the tablet is easy. There are three levels for the all-you-can-eat and we opted for the middle Gold level on this visit, which gets you more A5 cuts (some only one order per person) than the lower Silver tier but not as premium and expensive as the Diamond tier. The cuts of wagyu were buttery and so tender after grilling, and the other dishes such as seafood, steamed egg, sushi, and chicken cartilage were also scrumptious. The veggie and fruit buffets were cool, and the included variety of drinks were tasty. I also enjoyed the various desserts (including egg tarts!) and hot foods, which includes steamed rice from a nifty dispenser machine, miso soup, wagyu Japanese curry, and ground beef meat sauce. While pricey at $50/person and up, you can definitely get your money's worth for the quality and quantity of the food. The menu is extensive and AYCE; I was stuffed and probably only tried a little over half of the menu. There are pages of meats/seafood to grill, and even hotpots. There is also an option to join their "membership," a cheaper annual fee just for Chubby Cattle and a higher tier membership for the larger restaurant group as a whole. Membership includes a cheaper member price for the various menu tiers plus birthday discounts and other deals. There were a few items that we ordered that never arrived, and even though there were still 40 minutes left before closing time, some items started to run out, so I would advise you to order and grab food that you want earlier rather than later if you are dining in during the last hour before closing time. Service was friendly and attentive throughout and they were good about clearing used plates promptly. You are given 90 minutes total for eating. Overall, highly recommend for a unique and delicious dining experience! read more

First time at Chubby Cattle and let's just say... our grill skills were not Chubby Cattle-certified Thankfully our server Vy was basically our BBQ guardian angel. She gave us a full menu breakdown, helped cook our meat, and probably saved several pieces from becoming charcoal. Every time she stepped away, we somehow turned into professional meat burners -- and every time, she came back to rescue us without a hint of judgment (even though we deserved it). I heard that Chubby Cattle served wagyu and I had to give it a try. I went at four o'clock and the place was so packed and the wait list was long. The servers greeted us warmly. We ordered from a tablet at our table. Every meat was thin cut and the orders were brought in so quick. The wagyu steak was juicy and tender. It was so good and the wagyu steak was one of my son favorites. They had many drinks like milk tea, soda...etc.. There were many different snacks available to choose from like wagyu burgers, tofu ball or egg custards and many more. There were many other options like sushi and hotpot. During our meal, the server kept informing us that we had to leave soon, and it really just felt so rushed. I noticed that other tables who had been there longer weren't prompted or asked to "wrap up" there meals like my table was. First time in this location. It's smaller than the location in Rowland Heights. Plenty of parking in the plaza and very helpful that they have a yelp waitlist. Our server was Caleb who was very attentive. He was so helpful and cooked multiple rounds of meat for us. The touch screen menu is very helpful, you can order up to 10 items every 5 minutes. We opted for the silver menu and it was more than enough. We couldn't get enough of the Wagyu short plate, miso Wagyu chunk eye, and Wagyu short rib. The grape slushy was also delicious. The AYCE service was efficient and user friendly. I noticed this spot originally in Monterey Park, and I have been dying to go, and then found out through Tik Tok that this existed in Cerritos!!! I got seated and my server who had the most amazing energy was my server. I wish I remembered his name. I believe he was Filipino. He explained everything and was just so accommodating. 10/10 on service. I got the lowest Tier and the food choices were great. So much food like sushi, appetizers, sides, drinks, desserts and meat to choose from and all you can eat. For those who say "Korean bbq is cheaper". They don't include your drinks, dessert and a ton of appetizers and sides. So shhhh! Meat quality was excellent. I can only imagine the higher tier. They even have ice cold milk tea!!! Amazing experience from the food to the service. This was probably the best service I have ever gotten at an all you can eat place just top tier. The food was on another level we got the gold tier which was well worth it. The beef was so soft every piece would melt in your mouth. My wife loved all the sashimi and the spicy soup. I do like that all the meats come out in pieces of 4 it makes it so you can try more meats and see what you really like. I would say this place ruined all other Korean bbq spots for me because I will always compare the meat quality and service to chubby cattle. The meats were delicious, but the other offerings were just okay, which makes sense since it's more of a BBQ spot than a sushi or dessert place. The service was also just okay. This is our third time coming here and it's still just as good as the first time. We tried the gold tier today as we used my husband's membership birthday offer and could afford the price difference between the silver and the gold. We enjoyed the beef sushi and the tongue platter as well as the limited wagyu offerings. I usually really enjoy the toasted salmon nigiri but they didn't really toast it this time so it was meh. Wasn't a fan of the durian cheese myself. I guess I just like durian cold, not hot. The chawanmushi is perfect for my 8 month old. He also enjoyed the watermelon and small nuts of the steak and shrimp that I fed him. Our server Freddie was so cute, so eager to cook for us and coming to check on us frequently. He was so kind to our little one and brought us some plastic bowls to keep him entertained. The guy that was helping us clear the table was great too, he was always very prompt to get rid of empty plates for us so our table wasn't so crowded. Didn't catch his name. So far the service here haz been awesome and I just feel bad I couldn't remember the names of the other servers we have had in the past. We love that we get so many drink choices for free and the chocolate crepe cake (but this time they only had green tea, which was ok but we really really wanted the chocolate one so that was unfortunate). If you are thinking about eating at this place or mikiya or x.pot or any of their other restaurants the membership is great. Totally pays for itself and when it's your birthday, it's easier to try a higher tier for the special occasion. Hope their discounted membership is still there when it's time for us to renew. We dined in with the recommended Gold menu. Our favorites of the night were the A5 Lean Meat, A5 brisket, full blooded wagyu steak, and A5 Mizaki ribeye. The service was very attentive. This review is way overdue. I love other Chubby Cattles so I was excited to try this place since it is closer to home. The quality of meat at this location seems lacking compare to their other locations. The buffet section was very limited, not lots of variety including the drink bar. I wanted to try the durian cheese (supposedly only this location has it), but they don't even have it. The tag is there, but food is no where in sight. Slider as well. The dessert was also very limited. Our server is nice, but he seems to rush us to be out. Overall, I wouldn't come back to this particular location. I prefer their Rowland Height location. read more
